It's not that I "wont" drive to Colac, it's that I can't. If you must know, my back is buggered and I am unable to drive that far. If I could I would drive to Portland and pick him up myself. All I was hoping is that someone in the Portland area was heading down this way/Melbourne. I do NOT expect anyone to go out of their way. Yes to me it is urgent that he doesn't go to the pound, there are too many dogs there as it is IMO. In such a case if you can't find someone able to help, maybe try DogTainers or another pet-freight company. They offer door to door service, but it is gonna cost you! Hope you can sort it out.

I'm a little confused.... You are hoping someone can drive to Portland, pick up a dog and drive the dog to Gippsland, or at least Melbourne, but you wont get the dog to Colac? It can't be 'too' urgent(?)

I use artificial turf in my snake enclosures which are under multiple heat lamps and have never found it gets hot. I do recommend spending the $$$ on a good quality turf though, as the 'cheap' stuff tends to break apart around the edges and you'll end up with thousands of tiny green bits all over the place. Probably wouldn't matter so much outside, but it drives me nuts!

Are you sure he's even someones pet? If it's a native pigeon it may just be a wild bird. Glad you're having a good break away tlc. For those of you into cats, I noticed in The Extra the other day that there is a Cat Show on at Brauer College on August 1st at 11:00am. I will be there with my slug-gun if anyone wishes to find me. Apparently there are 107 cats entered as well as an area where visitors can handle the cats etc. It would be a good place to see some uncommon and exotic varieties, for those of you who are interested. Don't think it mentioned an admission, but usually these things are gold-coin entry? A purrrrrrfect way to spend the day!

I agree re: email.... off to the trash! Sorry but only registered breeders can reply to posts in the breeders thread, I believe. Bit silly really. It really is quiet here without them. Besides my 4 rat-bag kids and all the other dogs, it really does seem quiet. For months I've been getting totally mobbed as I walk through a door! These girls *may* open one eye as I enter a room, I MIGHT even get a single wag of the tail as I approach them. It's been so nice being jumped on and licked and squealed-over all the time. I know my dogs love me but I think maybe I go unappreciated a little! I'll have to start taking away their bedding and halving their food til they realize how good they've got it! AND where's Mawson??? STILL waiting for Casey-news.
