  1. I'd love to get out for a walk. I did promise the kids we'd get out tomorrow so will depend upon the time, but I'm free most days this week.
  2. Congratulations once again, Barb! Great Stuff!
  3. Thanks for the heads-up GSD's. I try to get there for a look as well as other trials in the Sth West. Great effort by Sue... we should all get together and cheer her on! :cheer: (Except I wont have pretty pink pom-poms) And yes, if you could post the times here, that would be really helpful. Cheers! * Maybe I WILL have pretty pink pom-poms..... ;) Hey! TLC! Get in here PRONTO with your 'brag'!!! :D
  4. Thanks for the link Tenties - my kids have had a ball before bed tonite! And it seems that Julie from the USA among others, thinks I "smell like an elephants butt". She said it countless times at full volume! ;)
  5. Yes that's very sad. You wonder why such lovely people are dealt such cards. Really sux. RIP little Leila. Edited for sp.
  6. Yeah, in Central Court. Sounds like they've increased their prices since I was last there. No, you can't get food hang-overs but you can get them from CRUISERS!!! Mexican here is shit. In fact, I reck9on there are very few good places to eat in this town. We seem to have the whole cafe/bistro 'culture', but without the quality!
  7. Chan & I rarely get out for a meal but when we do, we head for the Steak House. Really great food and great value. The meals are no dearer than a steak dinner at a Pub but are a lot nicer! (and I don't even eat steak!)
  8. I understand.... I spent the weekend and Monday visiting some amazing pet-shops around Melbourne & Geelong. Best Friends is one of the best. LOVE the fact they display rescue dogs and don't sell puppies. On-site Vet... Grooming... Reptiles... AND it is one of very few stores where the staff actually know what they are talking about. (Most of the time anyway!).
  9. Was just in the Greyhound Shop on Fairy St and noticed they have 50% off ALL WeatherBeeta Dog Coats. Worth buying some now and putting them away for next winter, so long as the doggy-fashions don't change a great deal by then, 'eh Barb?
  10. Our tumble dryer has been given a belting the last few months, with 4 kids and 5 dogs for a while there! We just can't afford the turn-around time trying to dry everything on the clothes horse... NOT looking forward to my next electricity bill! :p
  11. Wasn't it a near-perfect day? Took kids, scooters and 'The Girls' for a long walk along the promenade today and it was just lovely! Bring on the good weather! PS.... I bought a new "bitey" today! She'll be here in a couple of weeks from FNQ! Excited!!! ;)
  12. I'm sure we can find somewhere suitable around there. I'm looking forward to this already.... warm evenings... like-minded people... great dogs... kids at home... cold beer in hand... Yep... I reckon I could get used to that!
  13. I was trialling for CD. The more the merrier!
  14. Yep can't wait for summer. Most nights suit me and a casual arrangement suits me fine... doesn't have to be the same night every week as that may not suit everyone. Problem areas????? Think there'll be plenty of them with Tarni! Would we be allowed to use the grounds your Club uses? I'm sure it's public land but you don't wanna upset anyone. That would sure be handy for most of us!
  15. Yeah obedience. Some summer nights training would be awesome!
  16. Thanks tlc, yes I'm sure it's just a stage and I'm probably making to big an issue of it - I don't think she's as bad as all this must sound! Yes we'll be going to Harris St as we will eventually trial. I think she's definitely got what it takes. (taken me 16 months to figure it out though!) Sheesh, I haven't trialled for YEARS! Guess we both in for some fun ahead....
  17. Yes I've read that before (or similar information from another site) and offer such information within my puppy packs for pup buyers. While it's certainly a possibility, it wouldn't make complete sense, as she is virtually bullet-proof in all other areas. However, if this IS the case, at least I've been handling her the right way, ie; not mollycoddling her when she shys. If the behaviour persists I shall seek further advice. I am going to start formal training for her soon at the Club, so I'm sure we'll see what's going on then! I am hoping it's just a stage and she reverts back to her old confident self as quickly as she changed. Ta Jess!
  18. She's 16 months. I've run-on plenty of HV's to this age and beyond and have never experienced this before, so I'm a bit lost. Edited to add: She has always been very 'clingy' with me (not sep anx) so I wonder if that is related?
  19. That's a shame Tully's gone backwards. I'm sure she'll be back to where she was soon enough with all the time you put into her. Tarni just stands there, looking away from any other dog, avoiding eye contact. As soon as the other dog looses interest in her, she follows it around (at a distance) sniffing or trying to instigate play. Then when the other dog decides it does want to play or make contact, Tarni runs back to me! She has always been the confident, out-going one so I am at a loss as to why she has started behaving like this. Will be interesting to see how she goes next time we catch up.
  20. Shannons back this week? Friday would be awesome and Maws would be perfect. She's not DA she's just getting a little nervous. Dunno why. It's a worry though...
  21. How big is big? About 8-10 feet, but eventually will be up to 20 feet.
  22. Also............... I'm busy (again!!!) this weekend but would love to get out with some of you next weekend or even during the week. Tarni really needs some socializing with some well behaved, trustworthy dogs. She's fine with my lot of course, but rarely encounters other dogs when we go down early to the beach. A couple of times lately she has appeared to show signs of being a little timid, and I don't want this escalating. So if anyone is getting out after the weekend, *please* lemme know? Ta.
