  1. Just received a lovely email and pics from a puppy buyer. Thiz is Rez who is now 17 months old. Hard to believe he was a runt and was a struggle to get him to survive! What a handsome young man he is now. (although I am biased of coarse!) Jerojath Telford (Rez).
  2. Cross breeds? On a PURE BRED FORUM??? Shame! Just kidding.... lovely dogs. BUT I agree with GSD's - They DO look like a lot of grooming! I joined DogsVic (or KCC/VCA) in 1987, so I have been a member for 23 years. Hopefully I'll get my badge in 2 years! I'm sure Tenties will have her 50 year membership badge by now! :D Agreed. Lisa is very welcome here as she is *almost* a south-westorian. We do have some fun in here don't we? Lisa I was *almost* from Ballarat... had the Pub at Kingston, near Creswick for years. ;)
  3. Yep having an account is a bonus! My Vet says strictly no accounts but let me run up thousands at times. I've never let them down so they are happy to do it. Normally when I have a litter due, I let all my Vet expenses go on account, simply because I never know what it's going to cost me. Sometimes there are after hours caesarians, then there are medications, supplements, vaccinations, microchipping, worming, dewclaw removal, check-ups, Vet Health Certs, hip & elbow x-rays and scoring, etc etc etc!!! It can end up many thousands! I just book it all up and then when I think it's all over and done I go and pay them! They love seeing me walk in at these times with a very fat envelope . Regarding annual vacc... everyone has their own opinion, and are entitled to it. I do not vaccinate every year but will have to when Tarni starts at WDTC, or if ever they have to go into kennels. I think the day will come when clubs & kennels will accept titre tests instead of an annual Vacc Cert. Hope so. ETA-- What clinic do you go to?
  4. All good then. I take it this check-up was a Delta requirement? Even so, it's nice to hear of people going to the Vet 'just for a check-up'. Nothing annoys me more is when people have dogs and can't afford to or simply wont, take their dogs to the Vets. I see people on these forums asking for 'advice' on matters that clearly require Veterinary attention, just to save $70! Got dogs... spend the money. Good on ya tlc!
  5. How'd you get on at the Vet today tlc? Just a check-up? Hope all's well.
  6. tlc I really wouldn't be too concerned about your girls. I certainly wouldn't be taking any 'action' besides being a little more aware when there are treats involved. I have an ever-changing number of vizslas here, sometimes my own, sometimes rescues or re-homes, dogs and bitches, desexed and entire. (Would hate for council to inspect me at the moment!) There are times we have had the odd 'scrap' as you described and I don't let it worry me. Some people would disagree with my approach though. I figure it is best to let them sort it out now. If you break them up every time and keep them seperated at such times they never get themselves sorted out. I have never had blood drawn between them EVER. For me, I find that one or two of these scraps is all I will EVER get between two individuals. Many pups I have bred have gone to homes with existing dogs, and it's the same thing there too... when the dog gets a little older and cocky and 'tries it on' with the existing dogs, you are bound to see some scrapping, but again, it only ever seems to happen once or twice. While your girls and my vizslas are very different dogs, I really think this would aply, as your dogs have equally (well almost! :D ) great temperaments as the vizslas.
  7. tlc... how long is a piece of string? lol Soooooooo many variables to consider, If it were a vizsla I would say 24 months. Approx.
  8. Happy birthday Tez!!! Hope to catch up on a walk again soon!
  9. That is pretty good for a Sparky and 2 hrs work....... You can have my car bill and i will have your sparky bill ok...... oh mine will be $310 for hitting a pissy pothole lol thats a wheel alignment and 2 tyres and hopefully nothing bent or it costs more :D "Pass!" (Fingers crossed for you that your numbers come up soon!)
  10. Took him 2 hours and with materials cost me $250!!! Bloody snakes! He didn't leave til about 11am so I didn't bother getting up to AP. Glad you had a nice walk though! Will try and catch up for a walk later in the week.
  11. just noticed... lots of   here tonight! Must be the beaut weather
  12. Stuff like that is different for girls....
  13. Hey what's with the bogan talk......i actually did think you barracked for the Pie's JJ I hope you gave the poor Electrician a head's up on what he was going to be doing and what he was going to be working around No Tenties... Hawks through & through here! He told me he will be here right on time and all snakes must be out of there! He's got a job here... I blew all the lighting & UV lights, the thermostats, the heat lamps etc..... $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Edited as bogans apparently can't spell
  14. I'd love to get out tomorrow, but have an electrician coming around about then. (I tried to do some wiring 'improvements' to the snake-house, but ended up virtually blowing it up instead! The poor bugger's got his work cut out for himself tomorrow! ) I completely understand - I could easily be mistaken for a Collingwood Bogan myself!!! (No disrespect Tanya )
  15. Can't help perving on a good looking Shepherd! I noticed because it was a really nice young dog and I so rarely see a really nice GSD these days. I nearly stopped for a better look without even knowing who it was! I wish I'd known... I would have stopped for a chat.
  16. Yes that's the one. It was pulled up at the showgrounds a couple of days ago and they had a shepherd out. They must have thought I was an idiot, rubber-neckin' the way I was, but it's a bloody nice trailer and a very nice GSD! Next time I see you GSD's I'll stop and say Hi! ;) Tenties I saw a bloke on a ride-on at your place the other day.... thought you'd had a feller move in!
  17. GSD's... OMG what a day you've had! :p Poor little dog. Good on you for trying to help. Edited to add... GSD's do you have a Coachman Dog Float? I have seen one around town a couple of times lately with GSD and never thought it might be you....
  18. GiDay All! Well we're back from a great day today. Wasn't the weather just perfect? Love it! We headed west today, beyond Portland to near where I used to live... Mount Richmond National Park, and just nearby to the Swan Lake area. Swan Lake is awesome fun in a 4WD - huge sand dunes as far as the eye can see. It is home to the Portland Dune Buggy Club. But who needs a Dune Buggy? ;) We got our 2 tonne+ 4X4 airborne off the sand dunes and had a ball! Funny thing is two of the kids slept through all the action! Also spent some time herping (reptile 'hunting') but saw little besides some snakes. Took the kids to their favorite park for fish & chips and so they could stretch their legs. Geez I hope we get more of this great weather real soon. So many great places to go so close to home. Hope everyone else made the most of the sunshine. (Edited to add.... It'll probably piss down on my wedding day now!)
