Hmmmmm. Seems I have 'touched a nerve' with a few people!
-
Why walk out? Can't you give us an informed, educated opinion?
-
Type delete type delete - totally speechless. I am referring to MISTAKES made by some people. If you wish to buy a cross-bred dog and trial it, then so be it... great! BUT! I am aware of people who have NOT done their homework, and purchased from a 'kennel' what they BELIEVED to be a PURE-BRED dog, only to discover later that while their dog may be 'pure', it is of a breed unrecognized by the ANKC, so therefore, can NOT compete in the disciplines they had intended to when the dog was purchased! I am NOT speaking ill of cross-bred dogs, but rather shedding light on what happens when misinformed people purchase a dog! Geez, MY first dog was a cross-breed and probably the BEST dog I have EVER owned! I think you may need to re-rtead my original post, Jess.

um dont think so Janet, have you seen who's judging ?? :p if it were a boxing match..well ....may think about it ...but no i'm not entering, doesnt mean i wouldnt go for a sit and nibble session though :p i have my own chair and a camping table Just saw who is judging Group 2 on the Sunday. My that would be interesting! I'd buy a ringside seat... "ding-ding". You wouldn't be the only one buying a ticket JJ, i could get rich off this you know ....... well are we going to have a snob session or what ??? get as close to the ring's as possible so certain people see we are there but not entered ( well me anyway ) :D I have been known to do that too! :p

Oooh! Oooh! Oooh! What sort of puppy are you buying? Will we see you around the show-ring? I'm sure YOU are aware, but there is no point buying a so-called "pure-bred" dog of a breed UNRECOGNIZED by the ANKC, because you can't show the dog as it is basically nothing more than a mutt. I 'know' someone who has recently done this and I just do not see the point. Obviously you could compete in agility & obedience etc but this will be as an ASSOCIATE entry due to the 'mutt' not being fully registered with DogsVic. But I am sure you know all this and will do it RIGHT! We could go to shows together! (and eat chocolate if you wish ) Yes! Sign up with DogsVic now and start learning!

When Your Head Says Keep Her But Your Heart Says Dont.
jerojath replied to Kaffy Magee's topic in Breeders Community
I have to disagree. If your heart's just not in it, then you will do her no justice by keeping her. -
Sorry - didn't read this before now. Did you get out for a walk? At least the whether wasn't *too* bad for a walk with the pups!
-
Sorry I didn't know you had arranged a walk with someone else. I'm happy if you'd rather I didn't join you!

tlc you would be fine to take pics at the dog show. Of course you wouldn't put them all over the net with peoples faces on them, but you can always crop them out. I have Thursday off so if you want some company at Killarney let me know and I'll see if I can fit it in around school/playgroup times etc. Haven't been there in a little while.

:D Very quiet in here! What's everyone been up to? Great shot of your girl Jess! Just noticed the Warrnambool Championship Dog Shows are coming up again in January. Guess I'd better shoot some entries off just in case I can be bothered going! Always a good excuse for a drink and a chat I spose. Maybe some of you guys could get along to it this year for a look. We could make a day of it.... champagne, cheeses, Mmmmmmm!

Hiya! Well we managed to get away as planned, and returned this arfternoon from 6 beautiful days camping. The kids have had a blast and we have had a ball hunting for lizards and snakes and stuff. I really could have enjoyed another week though! Will get back and read everyones posts later but hope everyone is well. GSD's? Tenties? How are you both? Tenties you may have heard me pass your place this afternoon..... "beep-beep". And now, back to the reality of "normal" life...... Humph!

Well we were all set to go camping in the morning, but we have been struck by an awful virus here. Chantel spend most of yesterday vomiting etc and then it hit me about midnight last night and had me in bed til 5pm today when I seem to have made a miraculous recovery. Jess got crook this morning and appears to be over the worst tonight. But now Jacob has crashed with it really badly so I don't think we'll be going anywhere tomorrow. So now we wait for Jazz & Jemma to begin...... Even if they all seem ok in the morning we have SO much washing to do now before we can get away.... doonas and all.

JJ just got back! As most of you are aware, JJ & Ms JJ got married today! We had the BEST weather and have had THE most AWESOME day today. My 4 kids have been absolutely amazing and have made me so proud. It's been such a long day but they haven't put a foot wrong! Will post pics when I get them. Looks like you had a great walk today. What a brilliant day to spend with the dogs. Kindle looks great, but failing to see 'the point'. Educate me!

They look pretty cool. Another hi-tech newfangled gizmo I'd have no idea how to operate. I still struggle with my 10yo Nokia phone! :D

What are kindles?

She'd have to keep it somewhere safe or it would get eaten!

:D Oh, mercy!

All I can say is that I wouldn't even bother with a TAFE course (I've done it!) or an online or correspondence course. Waste of time. It MUST be hands on from go to whoa. I did a 12 month full time course at the Dog Grooming School of Victoria and graduated skilled and confident in every aspect of the job. Many people I know who graduated from other courses have little skill, little confidence, and often hadn't even been taught some basic techniques! Hope you can find something similar in the West.

OMG Jane!!! You terror! Instead of a pet insurance plan Tez I think you need to insure all food-stuffs in your house!

Yes I think that's a dreadful entry considering Geelongs proximity to the states centre, south west and Melbourne. I have seen larger entries at very small club Ch shows in the middle of nowhere! I think the committee really must look at a change of venue or they will get a lot less entries next year... people are speaking poorly of this years show on numerous forums. I believe the secretary is claiming a lot of entries "went missing" :D :D ..... certainly people turned up this weekend to find they weren't entered anyway.... Soooooooo glad I didn't go! So how did you go anyway Tenties? Pick up a CC?
