How about you, Tenties? Any CC's for the weekend???
-
Hello, I went to Noorat and met Tenties. I didn't stay long as i had family visiting back home waiting for me. Fairly big turn out at the show, although i was mainly focusing on the Cavalier section. I didn't see how she went, sorry. How did you go, Cav?

Send you some? Send you some? You really meant to say is "Dear Gecko breeder, I have been a gecko lover and owner for many years now, and since my last gecko passed away of old age, I have really missed having a gecko around. I saw your photos and was really impressed by the awesome quality of your fine geckos. I was talking to another gecko lover, and they too commented on how topnotch your geckos are both in conformation and temperament. Could you please let me know if there will be any geckos available as pets from your next litter? I would be honored if you were to consider me suitable to own one. Please let me know if you have any questions for me, as Iunderstand you only want the best for your geckos. Yours, The Fenster." ;) Replace "litter" with "clutch" and you're about spot-on! :D

sorry! I have been very busy of late! tlc Chantel said what Jess said earlier about your eyes... "tlc has got really beautiful eyes... I never noticed them before!" We think you look great and in fact, Chantel has decided to do the shave next year (and have you seen her hair??? ;) She used to model for hair salon magazines!!!). Her hair is so long she is going to have it cut off and donate it to the Alopecia Society, and raise cash for Cancer at the same time. So there you go.... you're an inspiration! Jess congratulations on the Open Pass. Pretty hard to come by when you are trialling at that level! Sounds like Masters is just around the corner too. No I haven't sold any dogs locally, in fact, most of mine have gone interstate with lots in Perth etc. There is a Melbourne bred Vizsla here in town who is trialling so may have been him. Don't think Donna James trials at all but she may have sold a pup locally who trials... don't know for sure. Bet it was awesome, though! I didn't get to Noorat either so I don't know how Tenties fared. We had long-lost friends come and spend Saturday with us which was nice, and then we had a family come from Melbourne for the day to meet us as they are in the process of choosing a breeder for their next Vizsla. I think Tarni won them over as they would dearly love one of her pups. They were so smitten with Tarni I actually tried to talk them out of buying a Vizsla, coz I don't think they had given any thought to the negatives of the breed and just wanted to take her home! Didn't work though. Still, they have plenty of time to do some more research and I've got other chances to give them "the good and the bad" routine! :D What's everyone else been up to? Besides shaving heads and trialling dogs, of course!

I finally collected my latest additions to the ever-growing herp collection, two Antaresia Childreni (Darwin locale). They are only first generation captive-bred from wild caught specimens in Darwin. I have waited a loooooong time for these! These were being held-back as part of a research breeding program, but I was able to secure them with some begging! As they were not 'pets' as such, they have not been handled, and when their cages were being serviced a snake hook was always used as a matter of 'policy'. So these two are very snappy and so quick! I keep them in a rack system and as soon as I slide out their tubs...BAM! They appear out of nowhere and want to eat me! I will try and get some pics of the little bastards tomorrow.... I just copied/pasted the above from another thread. Lovely to meet RuralPug today, albeit a brief meeting. It was pouring with rain in Hamilton so we carried out our transaction as quickly as we could and went our separate ways. Must have looked so dodgy, RP, you waiting in the car park.... me turning up and parking right beside you... us both getting out of our cars and meeting... you handing over a 'package' and then me handing over some cash! Then both getting into our cars and departing hastily! It's a wonder no-one in Maccas called the cops! I was half expecting to get pulled over and have my vehicle searched before I'd got out of town! Still, thanks again for your freighting assistance. Hope to see you on Sunday at Noorat.

In Tasmania, Copperhead Snakes will eat vast quantities of small frogs as they come out of the water for the first time. If you catch a Copperhead and hold it up by the tail, all the little frogs will literally tumble out and hop away!
-
tlc have you been hitting up DOLers for sponsorship? You're in sweet with a lot of folk on here and I'm sure some would be happy to cough-up the bickies!
-
Poor Bugger. The only good thing about being in Melbourne is knowing you will be getting the hell outa there soon! I hate the place and I have been down almost every week for months. :D
-
Great job!

Tenties RuralPug has her car all fixed now, and is coming home tomorrow. I am sure you will see her at Noorat.
-
Tenties I don't think you would want to touch these snakes.... not very friendly! Is RP doing Noorat? I wasn't sure, but she is hoping the car will be fixed today or tomorrow. Hope you receive good news on Friday! tlc I am working Friday so no BBQ for me. Hope you raise lots of $$$ though! Have you reached your team target yet?
-
Snakes wont be here until tomorrow as it happens.. RuralPug's car broke down and she is stranded in Adelaide (of all places!) while it's fixed. The snakes will be ok but I think she was in a hurry to get back to her Mum as I think she is her carer. Hope all's well there. Poor RP! Hope she's not stressing about the snakes - she has more important things to worry about.
-
Oh sorry for keeping you in such suspense but I didn't think you'd really care what snakes I bought! Well sorry to disappoint but I didn't actually buy anything. There were lots of awesome specimens but nothing with the 'wow' factor I need for my breeding program. They were very cheap there, but I realized if I bought one it would just be for the sake of buying one and not coz I really needed or wanted it. BUT!!! I am off today to collect my two young Darwin Antaresia snakes! Yay!!! Have been searching for a long time for one of these and I ended up finding a pair! (so long as Chan doesn't find out what they cost me (read 'us') I will be very happy.) ;) Tenties your eye is looking a hell of a lot better in the last pic on FB. How is it today? tlc are you and the Tullster prepared for the big event?
-
Sounds like it was successful then Tenties(?) Hope things improve... I got dragged over the coals by Chan the other night let me tell you! The repair costs have come out of my reptile account and I was supposed to go to a snake breeders on the weekend :D I am still going to go as I have waited months for an appointment to visit.... might have to buy just one though!
-
Bloody hell, Linda what have they done to ya? Geez I can feel your pain in that post! I am sure it will all be worth it once the worst of it's over though. Thanks for filling us in and remember to let us know if we can help in any way. I will be coming back past your place (late) Sunday night so let me know if I can drop anything in for you etc. So for those of you not on my FB list, you need to be made aware of just how stupid I am.... Two nights ago I went to the petrol station and FILLED my Turbo-Diesel with UNLEADED!!!! Just had too much going on in my head at the time, I think! So, I ring the RACV to arrange a tow-truck (can't even start it for a short trip) and found my membership had expired as my invoice had been sent to my old address. So out comes the Mastercard to pay for that ($191!), and waited an hour for the tow-truck. The next day my mechanic had to completely remove the fuel cell, dump the unleaded, blow-out the lines etc and re-fit the tank and fill with diesel. So $400 later my car is back on the road! What really pisses me off is that this car is so damn reliable, but I screw it up by doing something that stupid! God I could still kick myself. Still, she's all fixed now and as good as ever!

Jess the odd cold day wont deter snakes. Once the weather cools down properly they will brumate and puppies get to go bush again! So while the weather is cooling but we still get the odd warm day, they will still be around. I am like you.... my dogs are under lock & key during the warmer months - all on-leash exercise.
-
Cavalblaze good to hear from you! All that chicken stuff? Waaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy over my head! Sounds like you are right into them though! Hope your daughter heals well, poor bugger, and that things 'work out' with Lele for you. Geez you're keen baking for the hubbies B'Day! I get a $5 Woolies mudcake.... IF I'm lucky! (Mind you, she'll spend days on cakes for the kids!!!)
-
Hope it's all gone really well Tenties. Look forward to good news from you later!
-
Sounds like you've been busy tlc! I hear the new hospital is well and truly on schedule! Yep we are hoping to get to Bunnings.... especially if there's a JUMPING CASTLE!!!
-
Minimum 4ft enclosure, with UVA & UVB lighting as well as a heat source (usually ceramic heat lamps or heat globes). Brand new would cost around $400 TO SET UP. They eat fruit & veg, with live food 2 or 3 times a week... cockroaches, crickets, baby mice/rats etc.
-
Ah I thought you seemed keen on the Bearded Dragons... I think one would look great upon your shoulder! The parents are worth $600 but it depends what the babies are like. The 'red' dragons are the valuable ones. But, I'm sure we could 'spare' a couple for you Tenties, maybe on breeders terms? There are enough expenses setting up for them let alone buying the lizards! Will keep you posted on her progress.
-
Geez it's quiet in here! What's everyone been up to? Tenties and her Mum came out to my place for a visit the other night and met the snakes, and the spiny-tailed skink and the bearded dragons and the shinglebacks and the bluetoungues and the frogs. Don't think Mum was to impressed by them though was she Tenties? Hope all goes well for you on Wednesday Tenties! Pop in here and update us when you can, and remember to sing out for help here, should you need it. The very wonderful RuralPug has offered to pick up my new snakes in Adelaide and meet me in Hamilton next week with them. She is a life-saver as no company will freight them by road (pussies!) and will only freight them airport to airport which doesn't help us here much does it! So RuralPug! you're a star! tlc how's the fund-raising going for the Greatest Shave? Have you told Tully what she's in for yet? Anyone heard from tez lately? Hope she's ok...

Just heard these results as an "I think it was......." So thanks for confirming them!
