  1. To be honest I really don't know which is best, but I have had good results over many years, with many different animals including pups, with Divetelact.
  2. Mine too! If we happen to drive anywhere beyond Gateway, the kids start singing "Bunnings Warehouse" or asking for a sausage! Edited to add.... I LOVE those little trolleys. Means I don't have to carry squat!
  3. Thank you JeroJath, love your new store by the way! We know the breeds we are interested in, however it is a matter of finding a breeder who is close to us. Hubby doesn't want to spend too much, and i made a few inquiries on Min Pins, only to find out they were $900 and upwards, and hubby just laughed. But after reading Leo's story, i think we have both decided that purebred is worth the cost. I think a terrier breed will be the best for us. Which is why we are looking at the JR, Mini Foxy, Foxy and Tenterfield. Hubby did say that we may end up having to travel to Melbourne or Adelaide to find a pup, but i was hoping that someone local may be able to recommend someone to us. We don't want to waste hours driving all over the state looking at all different dogs, only to find that none of them will suit our situation, if that makes sense without sounding stupid. 'Tenties' here breeds Tenterfields.... I'm sure she'll pop in soon enough.
  4. Hi, moodychick and Great to see you have put some thought into the dog you decide to buy and have opted for a pure-bred dog. Just make sure you buy from a REGISTERED and responsible breeder. I think the first thing you need to do is decide on a breed, and THEN find a breeder in this area. A GOOD breeder will be able to match the right pup to your (and your sons) needs. Feel free to ask any questions in here, or elsewhere within these forums.
  5. Cav I don't stock anything from Reptapets due to unreliability, and in the case of electrical items, fire-risk. I have sourced some quality fittings, capable of higher wattage much more safely. Unfortunately there have been heaps of issues with the Reptapets items.... many Reptile Specialists stores are changing brands. Just waiting on mine to arrive from the US.
  6. Sorry! I didn't even see you... . I have been so busy I even had Jess in helping clean cages out, the last couple of days! There are days I don't stop talking to people and things just don't get done. Especially in the hollidays.... we call it the 'Budget Zoo'.... the Zoo for tight-arses
  7. oh ho ho and the ludicrous amount of money!!! I bet that helped the pain somewhat! Oh, the pain! The agony of it all! ;)
  8. Nope. I didn't even get a pic. At least I have the memories.....
  9. A Salamander, or at least this species, IS a MWF, It's simply a MWF which "morphed" into a Salamander..... an extremely rare ocurrence! No-one knows why one will morph, for apparently no reason, and most 'experts' say (which I'm not!) that approximately ONE Axolotl in a million will morph into a Salamander.
  10. Awwww. You should have put a ludicrous unaffordable price on it. Poor JJ. Oh, but I did! ;)
  11. UPDATE: The Salamander sold today. I didn't even get to have it for 1 day!
  12. He is for sale, but I don't mind if he doesn't sell ;) As far as Tristan goes, I leave the Axolotls to him. BUT in the case of a Salamander, I figured it doesn't breath underwater as a fish, and it IS an amphibian, so I classed it more like a frog than a fish, hence its presence in MY store!
  13. So should we call the Fire Brigade, or is it the mundane variety? You can't get away with "That is all." in here! sorry RP I just picked-up on your gag! "Mundane Variety"???? Hardly!
  14. There is NO species of Salamander which can be legally kept in Australia... BUT, if an Axolotl (Mexican Walking Fish) happens to 'morph' into a Salamander, then the law doesn't state that it cannot be kept! Apparently only one Axolotl in a million will ever morph into a Salamander, so they are extremely rare to see! I found one for sale some time ago, but couldn't afford it. In all my years this is only the second one I've heard about..... so I bought it!
  15. I wouldn't be ringing the Vet for a couple of days yet. I have had dropped temps and not seen a pup for four days! If she's not showing any signs of labor... just relax. Your friend will "know" when things are happening for real!
  16. Poor Tenties. We can't keep 'em all, unfortunately.
  17. No, actually, but I will be going past at about 6am tomorrow!
  18. That blows. We had our "reception" there last October, and she was pumped and fully working hard on developing her business etc. The staff all loved her and loved their jobs... it was obvious. We had the BEST time and have recommended it to so many people since then.... shame it's all over. Still, it's better that it closed rather than being dragged along by an unenthusiastic operator... especially when she wasn't paying staff - that's just not good enough!
  19. I heard your workplace closed down suddenly... what the hell happened there??? I hope she finally paid you before she took-off to QLD!!! Hope you have some luck finding work.
  20. Good to see you home, tlc. Bet the dogs are glad to be home too.... I've been following their escapades in Bairnsdale on FB. Shop is going really well.... even busier than we ever expected. Continually re-ordering almost everything. Off to Melbourne on Sunday as I have almost run out of reptiles.... thought my inventory would last me months! Feel free to pop in for a look-see.
  21. Can someone please post a link to the FB page? I am having trouble finding it.
