Congratulations on the litter, Cav! Sorry about the other pup, not much you can do in such cases. Blenheims. I like the Blenheims but weren't you expecting tri's? I seem to recall, but maybe I'm wrong. Please let me know if you have anything available as I reckon my brother and SIL would like to be considered as a new family for one of them. I'm pretty sure they've been looking.... Eleven Days til D-Day here for us. Not looking like a very big litter at all, so should be smooth sailing! :)

Whoa! 10+! Is that a large litter for the Flat Coats?
-
Hope all goes well for you. Let us know how the Xray goes too unless I see you before then. We're due a little after you, on the 12th. She's not carrying a huge litter by the looks. I can usually get a fair idea by this stage.... wouldn't want to take a stab at numbers, but sure looks like another small litter. It suits me, as I really enjoy having a smaller litter, but will be disappointing for others.

Congratulations! Hope they're perfect for you. I have opted against an Ultrasound. I can visibly see she's in whelp.... she's lost her lovely waist already and struggles to wag her bum alone! Last litter she barely looked any bigger even a week before she whelped two pups. We've still got a month to go here and she's looking rather like a pudding. Possibly that's from all the treats the kids are giving her "because she's pregnant"

Good news. All the best.

Good luck weisnjac.... hope you get a positive scan. Still in two minds whether I'll bother with an ultrasound or not.

I have had better success h/r pups on Goat's milk. Maybe give that a try? If getting to a store is an issue, I doubt anyone will be able to help much. Sorry.... just read you've used Goat's milk before too. I am not a fan of divetelact simply as I don't see how one product is supposedly satisfactory nutrition for a multitude of species, Koala, Macropods, Possums, Cats and Dogs. Makes no sense. Products such as Wombaroo are better as they are species-specific supplements.

That's great news Kirislin. Wow, 11 yo and first mating! Did the owners have a sperm count done first? Either way, it was a gamble but it paid off. :)

Beautiful babies Nik. Congratulations alpha! Look forward to pics!

Fingers crossed here for Hungarian Vizslas due May 12th. :) It's very quiet in here.... there must be others hoping for May arrivals?

Congratulations Cavalblaze!! My Brother and his Wife are contemplating a second Cav so I'll let them know. They live a few doors down from you. I'll be having a litter about a week behind you.... Should be ready for mating early next week after a long wait for her season!

Would you 'do' freight ( at extra cost to NSW?) :) Probably not, sorry.... It would be mucking around I don't have time for, especially as this is completely non-profit so need to keep it simple and local. Those on here know where I am and could pick them up when convenient for them. :) Thinking too, by the time you pay freight to you they will not be much cheaper anyway.

QUESTIONS RE: DRIED PIGS EARS - I bought some Pigs Ears today and was surprised at how expensive they are getting. Supermarkets are up near $4 now. Not sure about local pet stores. So I'm wondering: Where do you buy your Pigs Ears from? How much (each) do you pay? How often do you buy them and how many at a time do you buy? I ask, because I have found that one of my wholesalers also carry Pigs Ears. They come in minimum bags of 100. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in going in on some? If there were a few people wanting them obviously we'd have to order more than one bag or it's not really worth doing. They're still not cheap, so retailers obviously aren't making a LOT of profit on them, but I'm happy to get them in and sell them to anyone from here at wholesale prices. They do a 'standard' and a 'deluxe' Pigs Ear. I gather SIZE is the only difference. So not wanting to profit on these, I have worked out that with freight we would be paying $1.20 each and $1.50 each respectively, when buying a bag of 100. This is GST Inclusive. If no one else is keen, I'm just going to order 100 for myself, but if anyone else wants in, let me know BEFORE FRIDAY. :)

Hope they find someone tlc. I can't help as our fencing is totally rooted. My girls know not to leave the property but I couldn't expect that from a lodger! (PS - just waiting to get fences replaced so not totally irresponsible! :p )

Admittedly it's been a while since I was down there, but the (relatively) new signage didn't mention dogs being leashed. Normally during the Plover breeding season the designated areas are roped off with temporary signage requiring dogs be leashed in those areas. I've never heard of or been told to keep dogs leashed within the general area though. In fact, I've never seen a ranger down there! You could call DEPI Warrnambool and ask...

He has a busy and interesting channel on Youtube too! Okay, thank you. Is he just called the snakecatcher? On YouTube he is ssssnakecatcher

One in Dennington in the new development, one just down the road from my place near the river, and one in Merrivale. All occurred in backyards. Haven't heard of any more yet but I guess they can be expected.... You should be fine walking anywhere here tlc, you just have to keep them leashed. During the day they should be fine to run free at your regular park, as the Snakes would be seeking shelter as opposed to being out exposed. Just keep them out in the open for a run. Hopefully the grass is still fairly short there too.

That's sad. No doubt desperately searching for water.
-
It's likely they will. Snake catchers are getting calls in the middle of the night at the moment.

I have a generic reply saved in Word, which I just paste into an email response. It covers a little about us, what we supply, planned mating/s, health tests carried out, price of pups etc. If they are still happy to progress with their enquiries, I am happy to go into specifics with them. I also tell them we have a very long list of interested people for the litter..... this tends to weed-out any of them who aren't as keen as they would have you think.

While most people assume snakes are out and about in the middle of the day due to it being the warmest, please consider that even Snakes (nor most reptiles) don't like the extreme heat much of the country is experiencing at the moment. In my experience, during such hot periods, Snakes are active earlier in the day than they might ordinarily be, and are out and about later in the day and even into the night when it cools down. They will retire during the day to avoid the worst of the heat. While we have nothing to fear, we do need to consider the safety of our dogs..... most dogs will harass a snake, sometimes leading to a bite. So, while most people will tend to keep their dogs locked up during these hot 'Snakey' days, just take note that Snakes will be active outside of their usual business hours! I have been alerted to 3 Dogs being bitten by Snakes in the last 24 hours, in my Town alone. There may have been more, of course. Please be vigilant, aware, extra cautious. Obviously, if you see a snake, leave it alone and if need be, call a trained Snake Relocator, and it goes without saying that you should never try to harm a Snake..... it will most likely end with you being bitten. Keep safe everyone!

I hate that this dog is being called a HERO for "saving" the family. The poor bloody snake was caught in netting and couldn't escape! I guarantee that he would have simply tried to escape if he could.... The family were not even there. Now, had the dog leapt between the snake and a child, I might buy this crap. Headline should read "Irresponsible Pet Owner Allows Dog To Kill Protected Wildlife!" Moronic Journalists.....

I LOVE Thai, but we go to Brown Grain and while I have heard good things about Cattleya, we've always been happy so have stuck with it. I'm not surprised to hear of your friends experience at Rafferty's. We found the staff to be very disinterested in their jobs! And you've just given me less reasons to try the FH. Food poisoning???? No thanks!! I haven't heard Shannon had a new pupster, although I think I did see a pic on FB of herself with a dog I didn't recognise. Didn't know it was hers though.... I'll have to go back and try and find it. I just got sent this pic of Tarni's brother Rez (Jerojath Telford) and her sister Lola (Jerojath Toongabbie) which I thought was really cute.... Edited to say: My God! Check out Lola's nails! Gonna have to have a word with her Mum....
