  1. I usually find it the opposite! gonna be interesting...
  2. will within the budget, reliable brands and my dogs do well with it.
  3. Andis MBG 2 Pro Pet might be the one for you, just PM you. cheers, Tony The Andis MGB is over priced and not suitable for any seroius grooming. The Wahl KM, either the SS or KM2 is the way to go. It is a single speed clipper set similar to Wahl KMSS clipper, but much high speed at 3700spm.
  4. Andis has agent in Australia, you do not have to purchase from overseas. Andis in USA has 110v, it is not suitable for using in Australia. One year warranty provided by the Aussie seller, so do have to worry too much. Wahl is also good, but not as good as Andis. Andis is popular but because the price is higher than Wahl, so it is alway on our wish list but Wahl is in our shopping trolley. After some research you will find Andis isnt that expensive from some of local sellers.
  5. Aloe Vera will be good, and we also use shampoo specially made for puppy, mild enough, thought this will be better for puppies.
  6. Andis MBG 2 Pro Pet might be the one for you, just PM you. cheers, Tony
  7. Haha lol yep I know USA is not europe but they sell the European plug version in usa. At over half the price than it does here I'm very tempted The plug actually is not a bit issue, we purchase things in HK, we just use a universal plug adapter, just make sure the voltage is right, and 10v deviation is allowed, just check your plug in your house, most will show 250v, 50Hz, and we have 240v, 50Hz in Australia.
  8. Thanks poodle, have you got an european model that you have tried here? I wonder why it doesn't get covered by warranty I've narrowed down my choice to either the Andis AGC2 Super or just the normal AGC2 model (http://www.andis.com/international/products.asp?product=Animal&Lang=EN) The AGC2 Super has a normal speed of 3300 while the AGC2 has 3300 as its high speed. I don't mind forking out a bit more for a better set of clippers but I was wondering whether 3300 will be too fast and whether this set of clippers is intended for matted dogs. Will the fast speed cause clipper burns? I do some part time service work for a grooming supplier and the Andis clipper sold here in Australia has an Australian lead and the distributor here for Andis will only cover the warranty on their products. You could send it back to the US for repair but the cost would negate any savings on the initial purchase. Although the distributor will not do the warranty for you, we can just use local clipper repairer to fix the problem for you, its wont cost fortune, it costs me only $15 to get the connection problem done as the power leads are loose after few years operation. If you purchase locally, the local seller will cover you warranty as this is part of the consumer law. Nothing too worry, just make sure it is not 110v.
  9. I will say an Andis AGRC clipper is the best for Poodle. Its speed is almost the fastest in the marketsuper at 4500 spm, and it come with a ceramic blade #10, which is much cooler than metal blade while running.
  10. such a sad thing, god bless them all well and find a good new home.
  11. father Pat, your jobs are always the best. happy new year to you!
  12. flight would be a better option, for you, for puppy and for the environment.
  13. wwoo, you guys are all master chef for pet...., your dogs bon appetite every day..... lol...
  14. I am from China and every time we wash dog we will clean their anal glands by squeeze out dirty and stinky liquid, we do by ourselves if we wash them, or by groomer if we take our dogs to the salon, a very simple job. 6 years ago I came to Australia and had my borders since then, I found dogs here are not treated like we normally do in my country. I do it when I wash my borders, and one time a hydrobath man washed my borders and I remind him to do the anal glands, he felt very strange and said this must be done by vet. Its a very easy job, just like regular brush them, why should us leave this to the vet? I dont think our four legs friend will feel comfortable about it.
  15. Wahl KM SS is definitely a good option to start doing grooming by yourself, price is about $200 on eBay. If hair is matted, too thick, you might need skip tooth blade, which can go through the hair easily, and then use finishing cut blade to get a finishing looking.
  16. oh, I just brush him with buttercomb, ok I will mist the coat next time when I brush him, thank you!
  17. I have been using Advocate every month for my borders for heartworm, flea...control and Drontal All Wormer every three month for intestinal worm control, plus yearly C3 vaccination. what do you recommend?
  18. Why not try Andis Clipper? Its better than wahl.
  19. Thanks for all your help, will write down all your suggestions, and try to get these great products for my boy.
  20. Do you mean leave conditioner bit longer then rinse off? my girls do not have conditioner at all, and have exactly same food of he has, but their coat are much much better than his. He is 2 and 9 month old now. before he reachs 1, his coat was nice; I do not know why, not sure where is wrong.
  21. My dogs are house dogs as well, so has to wash them more, normally is every 1 month, just recently I bath him every 2 weeks. otherwise his coat just looks very messy, like a wild dog.
  22. 2 years ago, someone told me that I should wash the dog with shampoo, then put on human conditioner, then rinse off quickly, blow dry, in this way I would have a fantastic look border collie, straighten hair, shiny. I suspect may be I should not use conditioner for my Gino.
  23. Thank you for your reply, will have a look those shampoos mentiioned by you. Just when I first time went to PetBarn, asked the staff there, which shampoo is good for border collie, and they recommended Aloveen Oatmeal Shampoo for Sensitive Skin to me, and I have been using this for my borders since then, 2 and half years already. May be its time to change to other shampoo.
  24. My borders were always on Science Adult Natural dry food, but just from last month they swithed to Proplan Performance, Proplan Chicken. I normally give them sardins, and cooked egg, chicken necks, but the beef mince probably only once every two weeks, not very offen.
