Yep - we have been invaded. My dogs have NEVER had a flea on them, then the other week we noticed they were covered in them. I felt terrible as the few days before i kept yelling at one of my dogs because he kept itching - it never occurred to me they would have fleas. We have washed and flea treated the animals and flea bombed the house so hopefully we have gotten rid of the majority of them.

My two get washed at home in the bath tub every 8-weeks or so. -
What's The Most Disgusting Thing Your Dog Has Done?
AussieDog replied to Dame Aussie's topic in General Dog Discussion
This thread is great. I too have dogs that do this trick. We call them Cat Crunchies (as they are usually covered in bark). I keep wishing the damn cat would learn to poo out the front. -
I don't understand the fascination with these Designer Dogs. I think most of them are odd looking, even verging on ugly.

Just out of curiousity are you allowed to release/relocate snakes anywhere "in the wild" or do you need special permission and/or a special place. Where does one choose to release snakes in Sth East Melbourne (just so i know not to go there). *shivers*

It could decrease the value of the product. Other retailers may also choose not to stock the range - if people are selling an item super cheap and there is little-to-no-margin some suppliers may not bother (so the manufacturer looses sales). There are a lot of businesses out there that will not supply goods to an "ebay" business.

No don't be 4Paws - i'm glad you posted. I got the bag in the colour i wanted 12hours after i paid for it. Can't get better than that!
-
I also seem to have managed to get on there mailing list and can't get off. But the email i get it on is different to my DOL email - strange.

My Lyla one has the reflective strap/dog collar. I'm not a fan of the actual material the bag is made out of - seems a little thin and flimsy. I thought it was made from a thick canvas like material.
-
Lucky you which colour did you get? I got the Lyla - plain black with the green logo

Talk about super service - i purchased one of these yesterday afternoon and it's already been delivered. It's a cute little bag and a bargain for $25.00incl postage - but i would be disappointed if i paid RRP of $49.95. Edited to say thanks 4Paws for posting link

If you are looking for dog friendly accommodation along the Great Ocean Road (Victoria) then I can highly recommend Muxy's Place - www.muxys-place.com.au We (3 Adults, 2 Kids and 3 Dogs) recently stayed here and we all thought it was great!. It's located in Johanna, just off the Great Ocean Road. It's a massive house with a HUGE fenced (although not completely dog proof) yard. It's about a five minute drive to Johanna Dog Beach and a 30 minute drive from Apollo Bay and the 12 Apostles. If you visit the website and see the front picture I can honestly say it truly looks this beautiful. Plus the owner is lovely and extremely accommodating. Best of all they (unlike every other property i contacted along The Great Ocean Road) don't charge per adult, per child or per dog. It sleeps 8 and it's charged per night. Great value if there are a few of you going. I give it a 9/10.

I've been feeding GB to my two for the past month or so and they seem to enjoy it but does anyone else notice how bad it smells? I'm not sure if it's meant to smell like my bag does - really fishy. Is that the same for others or am i feeding my dogs off food?
-
Neither of my two touched it for a year so i recently cut it up - they now love the yellow treat ball and have "consumed" the rope/chook thingie.

Interesting post anthony mazzeri - I had never thought of the bigger picture and who the head company was...... I'd personally choose the food company over the chemical. As for Arnotts - didn't even know they were brought out. Unfortunately Tim Tams still taste as good as ever.

At the moment my dogs are on Advance for breakfast and Raw Meat for dinner. But i also use Eagle Pack Holistic and RC - i change brands every 15kg bag. Have tried Eagle Pack (the blue bag) but my guys didn't eat any of it also tried Eukanuba and Nutrience Holistic which they also didn't like.

Not sure if it's well known out there, but today i found out that Royal Canin and Advance are owned by the same company. I was picking up my bag of Royal Canin Maxi when an Advance Lady came over and asked if she could help. After a lenghty discussion about all the other brands of foods i used and why i was buying RC she said - you do know that RC and Advance are owned by the same company? Only difference she said was Advance is made in Australia and RC in France. She then went on to say there are no chemicals etc in Advance and it's the same nutritional value as RC - except in this case the Advance came in a special 20kg bonus bag. So i brought Advance and my dogs LOVE it!! Did anyone else know this? Or am i slow?

I think i've found the toughest toy - A Tuffie Toy. So far it's been three days and my Tuffie Ring is still in one piece. At it's only rated a 9 on the tough scale. They are at BigW now.

pretty sure aussie dog have a 12 month warranty.. take it back to the shop you brought it from and ask, i have a few aussie dog toys ive had for 3 years outlasted a lab, staffy and med fluffy who is the most destructive dog.... only thing staffy will kill is a soccer ball,. much to my 10 yo sons discust and tourment, h remy killed his good soccer ball,. ooops, now have to get him a new one again. if he gets hold of it , it will last max 2 mins.. next week i will be ordering a staffy ball for him and maybe one of the mitch ( i think they are called) balls, hes not interesetd in tennis balls either, but lives for his tug toys. coconuts were a big hit too. I was going to take it back till i read on there website the guarantee is only against the balls and home alones. The thongs aren't covered. ohh ok sorry didnt know that, thats good to know.. i have a thong toy from aussie dog and it has lasted 1 tough lab and 1 staffy.. your doggie must be one tough chewer.. mind you my stafford has been thru 2 Nylabones, the current one in his crate and he has chewed it down to almost nothing, due for a new one. also his cuz toy he luvs wont chew that to pieces just plays and throws it around.. mind you hes not a destroyer of toys, he only chews bones and nylabones.. Before 1.5weeks After I think the rope and yellow handle have been consumed as i can't find them. My fault though - they are meant to be an "interactive" toy - i left it alone with my pups.

Hi there Just wondering if anyone knows where i can buy a dog toy made by Kyjen called "Hide-A-Bird". There is also a "Hide-A-Bee" and "Hide-A-Squirrel". They seem to be everywhere in America but i can't find any in Australia. Thanks for your help.
