Upside down, inside out in their beds which are both in my room. They also have identical beds at the front of the house in the study. During the night they start of in their beds in my room, move up to the study and then when i wake up one is on the bed next to me, the other is usually on the floor next to my bed. Crazy dogs. Molly in her bed the other night.

It was on the Morning Show last week - brilliant.

My girl tries to hump my boy normally after a big play session with him. I always assumed she was trying to be the boss. If i catch her i yell her name and she normally than sulks off. I do nothing else until the next time i catch her. Both dogs are desexed.

I had my Lab X's back ones removed about six months ago. They hung, were really long and while i had no incidants they were a pain to cut. So i opted to get them removed. He is 5 y/o. My other dog, a Heeler X has back dew claws but they are small and fully attached and cause no problems. She doesn't have front ones.

I'm always worried about this when Summer/Spring comes around. Both my dogs LOVE, LOVE chasing and biting at the bees in the garden. One has already been stung on the nose. I'm glad your dog is ok.

I think these journalists are using the word "mauled" too often. This incidant is tragic and very sad but the dog did not maul the young girl. Who knows what happened - perhaps it was an accident - girl swinging on swing, dog thinks it's a game and accidently collides with little girl. I'm sick of hearing about these stories. I really don't understand why they are newsworthy. Talk about scaremongering.

This probably doesn't help but i have two Red Dingo tags and both mine sit front facing when on the dog. Can you post a pic?

Just had a sticky at there website. "We have a wide range of live fish, birds, reptiles and small pets for sale. We do not sell dogs or cats, however through our association with the Lost Dogs Home and Western Cat Shelter, we do have cats and kittens available for adoption and when looking for a cat or dog to become a new family member encourage people to Think Adoption Firstâ„¢."

Dog That Sit Like Frogs...
AussieDog replied to aussielover's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
My Heeler girl lays like this all the time. We call it "the boned chicken" look. -
I came home the other day to find two chewed up packets of dark choc licorice bullets. I called the vet and was told to bring my two in (25 & 30 kg). Both were vomit induced. I was surprised to see the less naughty, less food obsessed dog had eaten 80-90% of the packets. I was beside myself when I found the packets. Best $100 I spent for peace of mind.

My male Lab X was desexed at four/five months. He turned out fine.

I did go ahead with the scope a couple of weeks ago. Nothing found in the nose or throat. I'm pleased as it also ruled out cancer. Since the scope she has stopped which is great but annoying as I never got a definitive answer as to what it was. My other dog reverse sneezes. This snorting was different as it actually sounded like her nasal passage was blocked. Oh well it appears to have sorted itself out.

Beneful Bark In The Park - This Saturday 20th Feb
AussieDog replied to Sam&Saki's topic in General Dog Discussion
We went to the Melbourne one last year. I think we stayed all of 10mins. Once we got the freebies there was nothing else to do or see. -
I hope Ollie feels better soon. It's terrible when our dogs get sick but it is all the worse when it happens at night and on a long public holiday. Makes treatment all that much harder.
-
Really? I look at her and see a solid dog but not super fat. I could be/well I guess I am wrong now I read the above comments and take on board what the vet said. Nonetheless we are on a diet. Down to half a cup of royal canin and a veggie blended mix. Vet did suggest going on royal canin obese or hills r/d but I have a full opened bag of rc medium which I really did not want to waste. Normally they would have gotten one full cup of rc each.

Glad to see things are improving... but why don't you believe the theory above? It may be that the excess weight is adding to the issue and without the wieght, the dog may not succumb to the symptoms as easily. I do agree somewhat that weight can be adding to the problem which is why we are dieting. But my dogs are in no way obese. Dog in question, blue heeler weighs 23kg. I just don't agree that it is the full diagnosis of the snorting. But yes - we can all afford to trim up a bit in this household.
-
Just updating this incase it ever comes up in a search. Molly hasn't snorted the past three days since i've been giving her Phenergan at night. Maybe a coincidence but i will continue for another day or so and then see what happens. She only gets the one dose at night but it seems to take her right through the following day. So looks like it may have been allergies. Annoying as i queried this originally and was pretty much laughed at. I am glad though that it appears to be nothing serious. The Vet did say both dogs should loose some weight as it MAY be putting pressure on the soft pallet causing the snorting (which i now don't agree with 100%) but i do agree the dogs are on the fat side. So we are on a strict diet and are swimming weekly and walking daily. For those in Sth East Vic i highly recommend WoofPurNay down in Narre Warren. Not my usual vet but i went to them as the scope was much cheaper than my normal vet as was the C3 injection and heartworm test. The vets there have been wonderful and very patiend with me and my dogs.
-
Well Molly had her scope today as she is still doing the odd snort. No polyps or inflamed areas within the nasal cavity and as there is no discharge it is unlikely anything within her sinus areas. So still no answer as to why the sudden noise making. I'm going to now try antihistamines. This is third vet, fourth visit.

Poor Emma Is At The Emergency Vet
AussieDog replied to Pretty Miss Emma's topic in General Dog Discussion
I hope Emma bounces back fast! I too had a visit with the emergency vet this week so very much know the terror that is felt when our best mates fall sick. All the best! -
Canine Disc Dog - Victoria
AussieDog replied to whatevah's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Just wondering if there has been any movement with bringing Canine Disc Dog to Vic. I think i'm on the mailing list but haven't heard anything. -
My two do a similar thing. If we come home and the cat bowl is empty (even though it's raised on a dresser drawer) we literally only have to lift the bowl and the offending dog slinks away. We ask "who did it" or "do you want to talk about it" and the offender takes themselves outside, tail between the legs. They punish themselves more than i ever could yelling at them.
-
That's what I originally thought. But the vet confirmed air was coming in and out of both nostrils than told me that that would indicate nothing up there. She doesn't do it all the time. She is sleeping next to me and is as quiet as a mouse. I might call around and see if I can find another vet who will do the scope cheaper.
