What happens if the person who finds your dog doesn't have a smart phone? I don't have a smartphone.

Both my dogs love cat crunchies. Both my cats toilet outside so I have little chance in stopping this gorgeous behaviour. Nothing better than a dog trying to give you a kiss with cat poo breath. Yum yum.

My two eat grass as well - only occasionally throwing it up. My cat also munches on it. Strange creatures.

I don't think she could have gotten anymore in that poor dogs face if she tried. Her hands were all over the dog's face - stoopid woman. I'd bite her too if she got that close to me and stuck her dirty hands all over my mouth. Was she going in for a kiss?

Remember the bug spray. I was done there two weeks ago and got attacked by baby flys. They were EVERWHERE. I had to leave as i kept getting hit in the face by them. Edited: because i just read you are not coming down till June - the fly's will probably be gone during winter.

So sad, why can't humans accept sometimes accidents really do happen?

My dogs were definately startled and then started looking around my room. I think they found the source of the noise (ie my computer) as they stood on me trying to smell it. They than got bored and went to their beds.

Yep both my dogs as pups walked/bounced in on a leash. I was proud as punch of my dogs and was happy everyone could see them. If i had a small dog it may have been different - not sure. Depends how fast they walked with their little legs. Only the cat goes in a cage - and that's only because she would probably scratch my eye balls out otherwise.

Good to hear - thanks for the replies. I'd never heard about bloat before reading it on here a few weeks ago and now it's all i can think about. I'll relax a tad and just make sure they aren't doing anything too strenuous around dinner time. It's hard because they love playing together and we recently got a new kitten who seems to sleep all day and then switch on at bed time. I love Dogzonline and the wealth of information that is available on here - but geez sometimes it's just not good for my stress levels :D

What is "deep chested"? I understand giant breeds and those that are deep chested are more prone to getting bloat. Are Blue Heelers deep chested? Just trying to work out if either of my dogs would be in that category. I have a Blue Heeler and a Lab X "something". Do you constantly worry about your dog getting bloat? After reading this forum it seems it's extremely common and i'm starting to stress about it almost constantly (half because i'm slowly loosing my mind from being at home with an injury for so long). It sounds like a horrid thing to go through for the dog and the owner.

The Vet did check the mouhth and back of throat as best she could and there didn't seem to be any signs of blood or trauma. She was a little hazy with her prognosis but did say she thought it was coming from the gut area - but at the same time then said if it was in the gut area it would be a lot darker as it would be older. In the end the consulate was 45+mins and i got confused. In anycase we have had no more episodes of vomit or blood or anything else really to indicate she is sick. She is a little sulky but that could be because i'm molly-coddling her a bit.

I just received a sample of VAN and am looking forward to trying it with my dogs.

I'm going to give BH a go for my two. We have been on Royal Canin Medium Adult for years but thought a change might be good. I'm literally down the road from one of the Melbourne Distributors (Porky's) and i've just picked up my first bag. They had it down to $79.00. Great value. Hope my doggies like it.

Thanks StaffyLuv and Erny for the response. The vomit was very much clear liquid (no yellow or froth or bile) mixed with a fair chunk of green grass and scattered through the liquid was bright red/pink blood spot/vessels. They looked identical to the small blood vessel/spots that sometimes if you blow your nose too hard come through in your snot (i know gross). From a distance it looked almost like she had eaten a little bit of chocolate as it was a pale brown colour but on closer inspection and removal of the grass it looked like tiny bits of chopped up chilli - i then got closer and realised it was blood. There was a good amount of it but not I took it to the vet for inspection. Molly has been her normal self - eating chicken and rice, going outside for toilets (no poos yet) and bringing me her toys to play with. She bounces around and still follows our new kitten around like a hawk. She shows no other signs - i have now checked her morning poo and definately no blood - looks (and smells) pretty normal. It's the not knowing that kills me.

I've had a stressful afternoon with my Heeler girl. Was about to walk out the door for a walk when she vomited up a heap of grass but more worrying it had blood in it. There was a fair emount of clear mucas and the blood looked almost like a heap of chopped up chilli pieces (but wasn't of course). I took her straight to the vet but unfortunately without a scope the vet couldn't advise what was wrong. I was sent home with some antibiotics, something to keep the acid right in her stomach and another pill - which i've forgotten what it was for. Eyes are fine, gums are fine, she isn't lethagic, temperature normal. Vet thought she was a "little" sore in the gut - but the vet was poking very hard to get a response. Has anyone else had this in their dog and if so what did it end up being? I hate not knowing. If it happens again or there is blood in the stool i'll go the scope but as it was a weekend and the vet didn't think it was super urgent i choose not too. My dog doesn't, well has never shown any interest in swallowing toys etc. She always has access to toys and balls and has NEVER swallowed a part so i wouldn't think it was a blockage. Any ideas?

I took my ACD to the beach for the first time a couple of years ago. Unbeknown to be the effects of salt water (which she drank heaps of) i put her back into the work car and on the way home she proceeded too throw up and "splatter" everywhere. It was such a pleasant experiance for us both.

If you are heading down Gippsland way keep in mind that many places that way have ticks. From memory (i looked into it last holiday i took the dogs) it's the only place in Vic that has them. We decided to go the other way (past Geelong) because i was stressing too much about having to check my dogs for blood sucking insects.

Very sad. I fear the day i have to say goodbye to my two.

My dogs normally get Royal Canin Adult Medium but i've run out so they get either Natures Gift or Supercoat Casserole. THey are the only two wet dog foods i buy and i only get the Supercoat because they have casserole's - and they seem to slow my dogs down HEAPS when eating. THey get a handful of kibble chucked on top and yoghurt.

I saw the Canopy Outdoor Gazebo's at a market a few weeks back. They look GREAT - heaps of add on's and different side panels you can get.

I just got back from my walk and found a liitle puppy that unfortunately didn't make it through the night. He was on the naturestrip, of all things, with the pile of hard rubbish. I didn't think it was real but my two dogs confirmed he was. No collar. I didn't come across anyone who was looking for a dog and the street he was in would only have the traffic from the people who live on it. Very sad, he/she was so little.
