  1. Thanks PAX and ness. These are very good suggestions! Keep them coming
  2. My dogs are struggling with their stand command (both from heeling or from sit). Do you have any good advice/tricks/exercise that can "strengthen" their STAND? My biggest problems is that luring into stand doesn't teach them much, and they don't offer stand in shaping (yes, it was not reinforced enough and now I am struggling). Luring also created a problem of them moving slightly forward when I ask for STAND.
  3. Unfortunately there are no flyball clubs close to me (Ipswich QLD). However I decided it's not going to stop us LOL. I want to come of with an equivalent to flyball to practice at home. I do have jumps but I don't have the box. What would you suggest for the equivalent of the flyball box that could be homemade? If you have any suggestions regarding the training: tips, links books etc I would be very grateful.
  4. I agree with Susan Garrett's "Shaping Success" being an excellent book, but for anyone who's into agility not just "very beginners". :D LOL, well I am a very beginner and it's one of my first books about agility. That's why it's hard for me to judge if it's good for more advanced people It's perfect for beginners, even with puppies who are not physically ready to start agility.
  5. Where is it? I will try to come and watch and bring you good luck!
  6. Stolzseinrotts, how often and how much do you give brisket bones to your dogs? My dogs (aussie shep and golden) are lean but I don't want to overdose on fat :D
  7. I LOVE "Culture Clash". :D How 'advanced' is this one? Can you use it as a reference? I know that some of the idiots guides are very basic but others are very comprehensive.
  8. I know. It seems impossible . Don't you worry that once you are up there you are just going to freeze?
  9. Agility (for very beginners): Susan Garrett "Shaping success" Obedience : Morgan Spector "Clicker training for obedience"
  10. Can somone tape it for me please/could I borrow the tape from someone? Midge she be there as well
  11. How to administer Metamucil to a 10kg dog? How much and how often? Thanks
  12. If you enjoy training so much, look into clicker training. You are going to love it!
  13. How much pumpkin do you give her per day (and how big is she btw)? I assume it's cooked pumpkin, is that right? Do you also give her psyllium husks in addition to the pumpkin? Thank you so much! ETA: the dog with this problem gets a lot of chicken necks and such. So meaty bones don't seem to solve the problem. It seems to be because "the matter passes is of a narrow diameter". It's very narrow indeed.
  14. Persephone, could you please suggest the diet for a dog with anal glands problems? Thanks
  15. ;) ;) Thank you so much!
  16. I have two dogs. My golden was introduced to the crate when she was about 3 mo and my aussie shep got introduced when I got her (she was a year and few months old). They both love their crates now and I find it extremely useful. I didn't use the crates to house train them but for all the rest the crates are amazing.
  17. I am trying to find dog biscuits that are large (in size) to fit into the dogs' toys. What are the biggest (and fairly healthy) dog biscuits that you know?
  18. Thanks! Looks like I am going to buy one from Agility Click Do you think it matters which size I buy for training?
  19. Does anyone know more about it! It would be SO GOOD to have Orijen available here!
