Yep, same problem here

Sorry, I am still confused. Why do you recommend Nobivac? Are all the vaccinations good for (at least 3 years) or just this one? I have a 12 mo due for her vaccination soon and I want to make sure I do it right :D . From then on she will be on titer tests for at least 3 years. I also have one that is 2 years old, who had C5 last year. With her I will try titer test this year. Does that make sense, or have I missed something?

I don't want to start any arguments, but are you getting him from a registered breeder? Do the parents have all the health tests done? ETA Helen posted it a while ago: See this link, this book comes highly recommended and is available free on the internet, great read even if you already have your pup http://www.siriuspup.com/beforebook.html

Well with it being 35 degrees here today, raw chicken livers in my bait bag didn't appeal. And as it is puppy training for first time at a club I wanted high value. It worked well - made it less squisky and gross, and it was definitely high value - even lost some skin when she grabbed some! And she doesn't normally snatch. Certainly kept her attention though - she couldn't have cared less about the dogs around us I will try that for our agility training this Sunday :D I will let you know how we go

Thank you BC In this case I will definitely order some!

I am going to get it from http://www.caninecountry.com.au/

I think it mentioned raw. Jazz has her first night of "proper" training (ie: actually going to a club to do a class) tonight and I have just packed a bait bag with: diced sweet potato, diced apple, some left over steak chopped up, some eagle pack holistic select (when you feed raw they think tht stuff is fantastic! lol) and some very lightly cooked (microwaved about 1 min so not sloppy) chicken liver. Hopefully that lot will hold her attention sufficiently. I actually found for showing I can't use the super interesting stuff or she is too busy watching me and ends up crabbing, so I hope we should get good attention for heelwork with high value rewards. it's a great idea to lightly microwave the offal! will definitely try that next time good luck with your training!

I have never bought raw roo tail before. It is OK for dogs? Or is it too hard? Is it meaty enough to be considered a RMB?
-
Midge and Laffi voted: We love: 1) raw ox heart bits (frozen) 2) raw chicken necks cut into thirds 3) cheese 4) baby carrots 5) raw sweet potatoes 6) apples I am so happy I can use all of these in training. Makes it so much for fun and healthy!!!!!

Whole Dog Journal..best And Worst Dog Food
laffi replied to panda's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
OK, there has been heaps of discussion about proteins and dogs diet. The issue arose when the researchers realized that high protein diet caused a lot of health problems with dogs. People understood it as such and decided to keep the protein content low (lower than 30%). What they didn't understand that in these studies the main (80%) protein source was grains. Dogs are having hard time digesting these. So by feeding them heaps of grains they just amplified all the bad effects of feeding grains. Now if you feed your dogs just meat you will have no such ill effects but some people just don't want to take it as an argument. Btw if you are on a pray model diet (raw diet) the protein content is very high as well. It's not a bad thing! In all the grainless foods meat is at least 70% that's why the protein content is so high. Also have a look at this: http://www.thepetcenter.com/imtop/protein.html -

Whole Dog Journal..best And Worst Dog Food

I think it's an American journal and this is a list of foods available in US. Since Nature's Gift is Australian it's not on the list. -
Thank you I wouldnt get too excited about this just yet! Its only just been released in USA so will be quiet a few months away from arriving in Australia. Artemis have a small breed adult 1.8kg Price is $21.65 aww anyhow i brought orijen so we will see how it goes Thank your everyone for your help Make sure that the transition to the new food takes about a week. Orijen is very very rich so you don't need to feed much. At the beginning feed very little so they can get used to the high content of proteins.

I tried both. My dogs didn't like Nutro so I couldn't keep it for long enough to see how well they do on it. Luckily I could return the bag and get the full refund They are on Orijen now and they love it ! Their poops are small and firm. They are full of beans. They haven't been on Orijen for long enough for me to comment on their coats. I like that it has excellent ingredients and no grains. Some people might say that Orijen is too high in proteins so you need to do your research to find out what is the suitable for your dogs

"Fanatic Flyballers" have won 1st place in Division 3! It's a team from my flyball club and Reddii's dog Xena was in this team

The only place I know of is: http://www.groomersproducts.com.au/ and it is $26

I love the RSPCA training club in Fairfield. http://www.rspcaqld.org.au/training/ They use positive methods and encourage socialization. You can do obedience, tricks, rally-obedience, agility and flyball!!! I know that RSPCA is not popular on this forum, but there are not that many positive clubs in south Brisbane. I would also encourage Basic Training with Agility Dog Club of Queensland. They train on Sundays in Tivoli. http://www.adcq.com.au/index.php?act=viewD...3#basictraining

I feed 50% RMB and 50% dry food. I train a lot (obedience, agility, flyball) and I find that healthy, high quality dry food is the best solution. My dogs were on RC (didn't do well on it), then on Innova Large puppy (the golden retriever puppy) and Evo (australian shepherd). They did really well on the last two but I hated buying them from PP Now they both are on Orijen and the leftovers of Evo. They both love it and look amazing. I like using grain fee dry foods (like Evo, Orijen or Artemis). The RMBs they get daily are: turkey or lamb necks, chicken frames, necks and wings. Their teeth are very clean, their coats are shiny and they have great appetite for life.

Yep would have been me. Only Pug there LOL. Unfortunately we got Black carded for running into the other lane. I have no idea why she did as she never has at training. Going to training tonight so will see how she is, then off to the Milton Demo this weekend. On a bettter note when she did run we got 2 points . Only 3 more for our first title LOL Congrats everybody!!!! Is there a website with results?
