I think NRM is punishing to certain extend... well it's certainly, by definition, is not rewarding!!! I use it with my highly driven aussie. With my soft golden retriever I try not to use it as she worries about it too much. I do use it more now because she is much more confident, but it took us years (!) to get here. Anyway I would only use it if the dog was successful at least 80% of the time. (This reminds me I forgot to answer your PM... better do it now!)

ADCQ is FANTASTIC! One of the best agility clubs in QLD!!!! (if not the best ) I did agility there for about 1.5 years and LOVED it.

Call your vet to ask about Rimadyl, they should be able to tell you over the phone. My totally uneducated guess would be a couple of days. Why do you think she's done further damage to it (as in if she is not moving how could have she done further damage)? BTW Do you keep her crated?

If you want affordable and still good I recommend Uncle Alber's or Great Barko. I think they are much better cheaper than Optimum.

Looking at the ingredients Advance is much better than Optimum..... Not to confuse you more.... but there are much better (in terms of ingredients) foods than Advance.

Preferred Premium And Super Premiums?
laffi replied to stormie's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
As I said before I recommend Premium: Royal Canin and Super premium: Artemis. For busters crew: Analysis of Eukanuba ingredients: ...snip... I'd like to read up more on this for my own benefit, can you supply a link please? thanks http://www.dogfoodproject.com/ http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_reviews/ -

Preferred Premium And Super Premiums?
laffi replied to stormie's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
As I said before I recommend Premium: Royal Canin and Super premium: Artemis. For busters crew: Analysis of Eukanuba ingredients: The first ingredient is a named meat product. This is not a meal ingredient. It is inclusive of water content (about 80%). Once that is removed, as it must be to create a dehydrated product, the ingredient will weigh around 20% of its wet weight. Ingredients are listed in order of weight, and the dehydrated ingredient would probably be more accurately placed much further down the ingredient list. It is highly unlikely that this ingredient makes any significant contribution to the overall meat content of the food. Therefore the first ingredients of this food are fillers (low in digestibility grains): corn meal, Ground Whole Grain Sorghum. This good is basically grains, not a good dog food diet. Analysis Royal Canin ingredients: The first ingredient is a named meat product, in meal form. Therefore already Royal Canin contains MUCH more meat than Eukanuba. Rice, although grain, is high in digestibility (much more suitable). -

Eukanuba is full fillers. There are MUCH better foods out there. -

Wow awesome AD :D Well done!! 14 runs!! how do you do it??!?!?! yesterday I had 8 and my head was turning, struggling to remember the last ones I was so thrilled with Laffi's intermediate jumping (would have been a clear and fast run (!!!!) if it wasn't for a dropped bar, which is great achievement for her as she used to slow down heaps with more complicated maneuvers). Will I see you at ADAA GP?

Hey, nice work laffi I didn't realise Midge was carrying an injury - how stressful but I'm so pleased she has recovered! Oooh, am I known as TSP, The Smiling Peanut, now???? Of course I didn't video it :p Here's a pic though - will that do?  I love The Smiling Peanut!

Congrats LP and TSP! I really hope you managed to tape your amazing performances We have a brag too... after talking almost half a year off due to an injury of one of my girls, we were back in agility ring today. Couldn't have dreamt of better performances from both of them Managed a few places and a CR for Laffi. I was thrilled with her weave entries and fast weaving Midge was fast and furious and definitely looked she recovered well from her injury (which was my biggest worry ;) )

I would not change my dog's dry food just on the basis of size. The only reason why I might change it, would be because of better quality ingredients. If you are happy with the food you are feeding and sure it's appropriate for your dog (I for example would not feed regular puppy food to a large breed pup) than I would just consider persephone's awesome advice of using a treat ball.

Neats, if I were you I would start an elimination diet so you decide/know exactly what your dogs eats. I would not recommend any pre-made patties for dogs with allergies before determining what the dog is allergic to (which type of meat, grains, preservatives etc). I wold also use human quality raw meat/mince as very often the pet mince contains preservatives.

I would LOVE to find out about it that too!!!! (will be second in line just after Kavik )

Help With Clicker Training For A 15 Week Old Puppy
laffi replied to Bubitty's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I wouldn't sit and wait for a behavior with a new dog that is not used to clicker training and doesn't offer behaviors. For new dogs I would teach things that I can split into very small steps and click and treat for each step. I think that's the most challenging part of clicker training: being able to brake down each behavior into the smallest possible steps and teach them in the right order. -

Who Was Looking For Fancy Doggy Treats A Few Weeks Back?
laffi replied to 4 Paws's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I would eat them myself -
Do you mean Artemis? I know a couple of breeders who highly recommend it and their pups did very well on it.
