  1. Yes, it does count (as training takes up the most time anyway) I am just wondering if it is possible to compete/train with more than two dogs!
  2. I am interested in how many dogs people train and compete with in agility, obedience, flyball, etc (per household). I do imagine it gets harder and harder to find time to train 2, 3, 4 ... dogs.
  3. where can you get these? I'll PM you with details thanks!!!
  4. I think this might be helpful: http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...0&hl=treats
  5. My golden has a very similar reaction to Advantix (and Advocate). So we are now on Sentinel Spectrum (I will need to think about what to do for tick protection).
  6. Orijen, Innova Evo and Artemis Maximal Dog (all rated 6 on this website) are available in Australia
  7. Are you giving him Orijen puppy one? (not that I have any suggestions, just wondering)
  8. How is it going everybody? We had a good session yesterday. I tried to hold my hand touching their nose. Midge wasn't a big fan and was waking backwards a little but after a while she got an idea, so she was trying to push my hand more and for (slightly) longer. Laffi is getting better too, although still licking sometimes. I did notice that if I don't click, but bring the reward when they are still targeting it helps a lot. (if I click they move their head towards me and it's not what I want)
  9. I think it's a great idea to: - use the back of your hand - hold it and click when he is still (doing all different stuff) I think you are up to something. Can't wait to get home and try it now!
  10. Please try and let me know how you go! Esp if your dogs start to: paw the target play hockey with the target lick the target or get even more creative ;)
  11. OK, my dogs know how to target my hand, but I am having troubles teaching them to keep on touching (stay connected with my hand) until released. They will do multiple touches but when I rise criteria they just start licking my hand and doing other crazy stuff (nothing remotely close to a longer touch). Any suggestions? Btw I do try to give them food near the hand they are targeting.
  12. I use Epi-Otic Ear Cleaner on make up removal pads as well (highly recommended)
  13. I think we can help you more if you can answer these questions: - do you want to feed dry or raw food? - what is more acceptable for you and your mum?
  14. Ugh - too many results which don't seem relevant Can you post a specific thread which you think I should read? there are some great posts on this one: http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=128030 (esp look for the one by DeltaCharlie)
  15. there is a link to it in this thread: http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=123683
  16. Another vote for EPO shampoo and supplement
  17. Do a search here about prey model diet. (I am not saying you switch your dog to this diet, I just know that some excellent info was posted on these threads)
  18. I was about to say exactly the same thing. I give my cats chicken necks, wings and drumsticks and they have beautiful teeth although they are old. I do make sure that everybody eats their own thing as one of them would steal from the slower one. I do the same with my dogs, just give them bigger bones that are frozen. I found that frozen bones work even better for dogs as they spend more time chewing them.
  19. anyone? Is it the one in Oxley? If yes, Christal & Zorro (DOLer) go there and they recommended it to me a while ago (http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=107751&hl=oxley)
  20. I am interested in what people are doing, as well as: why did pick the specific one? what was/is your major problem with it? have you ever had to retrain contacts/change criteria? I am asking because of my dogs (who learns everything else really fast) is struggling with 2o/2o. It seems like it's simply not for her and I am considering switching her to 4 on the floor.
