  1. I found this website very helpful: http://www.vetmed.wsu.edu/depts-VCPL/ Btw I use Sentinel Spectrum for my aussie.
  2. I put them inside a little mince balls and they just gobble them down.
  3. Where they have the pathetic range of coffee, the biscuits and the beer-making kits. That aisle. (Near the chocolates/confectionery). They have a good range of Easiyo plus the maker-shaker units. I know that isle ;) Thank you!
  4. Where do you get Easiyo? Someone said Kmart.... which isle?
  5. Does anyone know if you can use Advantix and Permoxin together?
  6.   Btw EPO shampoo really helps my two (esp if you wash twice, leave on for 10 min each time and then blow dry) I don't know anything about telfast *off to google it* Have you talked to your vet about the onset of his allergies?
  7. Thanks for that - I was thinking it's an awful lot too if you work it out like it says Phenergan and Zyrtec have not worked for my boy in the past, though then again I was only giving half a phenergan. Has anyone tried Telfast - the hive and skin one on a dog before??? (Green packet) And would you halve the tablet? I think you should try to see if slightly higher doses of phenergan (1-2 tablets/day) work. I have heard Claritine works well for some dogs. How is Benson? Are his allergies back ? Sorry, haven't tried Telfast.
  8. My Labbies eat them whole, inside of 10 minutes. The pups take longer, and sometimes the big dogs take over and finish what the pups don't eat. Mine eat them whole as well (that's why I was a little worried).
  9. Thank you so much! Sometimes I hear the crunching noises when I give them the roo tails so it got me worried  (never heard any noises when I give them other bones like lamb necks or chicken frames). I will try to give it to my cat (although she loves her chicken and turkey necks the most
  10. As per title: are roo tail bones too hard for medium/large dogs (20-25kg)?
  11. I think Evo is better than Innova (just from the list of ingredients point of view). Both of them are sold in PP or equivalent I feed mostly raw but I do use Orijen from time to time.
  12. I highly recommend: http://www.caninecountry.com.au/
  13. Grain free food available in Australia: Orijen Artemis Maximal Ziwipeak Evo (only available at PP and their subsidiaries).
  14. When you use a clicker you still have to reward after you click. Clicker is not a reward but a marker. So your puppy can still get fat (just make sure that you take into account all her treats when you give her her meal so you don't overfeed her). You also should teach her not to nip (for example by withholding the treat if she nips).
  15. Thank you morgan. Seems like she didn't understand it when her friend told her about it. When you say: does it mean that it really protects the animals that have been bitten by a snake or tick? Or is it something that gives you more time to get to the vet?
  16. My MIL just came over to drop off her dogs and told me that she started giving her dogs Ledum for ticks. Now she doesn't know how it works, but apparently it saved her friend's dog so she decided to use it as well. I did a quick google search and it seems that it's a homeopathic remedy ... so I am not sure if it works as a prevention medicine (the way she is using it every day). Has anyone used it? Can anyone comment on it?
  17. This is exactly what I'm after of. I don't want my little puppy to choke. I will have a read of that link you posted. Thanks! Yes, she does like to chew on everything. Including us! We actually gave her a pig's ear to try tonight but she just sniffed at it and then went and did something else. I will perserve though. Maybe she doesn't know she is supposed to chew on it! Lol I will try the raw chicken mince mixed with vegies and her puppy kibble. Which vegies are best? Can we give cooked rice also? Raw meaty bones (like chicken wings and other types mentioned before) are good for many reasons. First you get the right ratio of calcium (from bones) and phosphorous (meat). By chewing the bones your dog will naturally clean her teeth, which is going prevent any gum infections later on (that's why mince is nowhere near as good as raw meat bones). There is a recent thread about what veggies and fruits are good for your dogs. Just remember, dogs are carnivores they don't really need fruits and veggies as much as they need meat, bones and offal. If veggies are not crushed properly your dog will not be able to digest them so you will be just giving her fiber. Dogs do not need grains: so pasta, rice etc are just fillers. They are unnecessary and can cause allergies.
  18. I think it would be good if you read some books about raw feeding to understand a bit better why raw meaty bones are better than just meat (or chicken breast). My local library has some great books about BARF.
  19. I don't know this book but just by looking at the table of contents I am skeptical the person knows much about proper canine diet. First of all she insists on cooking (Stupendous Stews, Savory Soups, and a Growlin’Gravy) whereas ideally you want to feed raw. Also chapters like "Puglicious Pastas and Loaves to Love" are cute, but really you don't want to feed pasta to your dog (it's just a filler that your dog cannot digest properly). I think the book looks cute but not to be taken seriously.
  20. If you are looking for good books I would recommend: Dr. Billinghurst's "Give Your Dog a Bone" "BARF diet" Dr Tom Lonsdale's "Work wonders"
  21. Hmm I think you really need to be in command and tell him when to let go. It will only build up the drive in the long term. (at the beginning they might not like it, but when they realize that the sooner they let go the sooner the game may restart they are much more keen)
  22. I only have the set of "clear communication" hopefully it will be enough to get an idea.
