  1. I have found a tick on my golden retriever 2 weeks ago. It was a paralysis tick. I removed it and the vet said to keep an eye on her. She has never showed any symptoms. However about a week after the tick removed, her muzzle (where the tick was found) became itchy and she started rubbing it everywhere, eventually causing a skin infection. Has anyone had any experience with that? I was away when the infection developed (which basically looks like a hot spot) and only came back last night.
  2. Sandgrubber, which supplement do you use? I don't think mines need one at the moment but I would like to have more options in case I need one in the future.
  3. It looks a million times better doesn't it?! I am so relieved that it seems to be healing well, he has a little bit of fluid in one spot, but nothing too worrying. He was on Orijen which was FANTASTIC, but I was running out and couldn't get to my source so I switched him to EP and he has been itchy ;) he does best on the Orijen with no grains at all. I have to say I was very impressed when I saw new pics Btw I love Orijen too (well I love it form my dogs)
  4. It looks great!!!! Such a huge improvement already  What are you feeding him now? what did you switch from?
  5. I only hand feed LOL (totally forgot how important that part is) I've done TOT with her She just doesn't get excited about anything really. My other 2 (gsd and foxie)are bouncing off the walls when the teats come out but not Kali Maybe too much of control work (like TOT)? I would start baby steps with her. I think clicker will help heaps! My golden can be quite slow sometimes, but then go back to using the clicker and she gets really excited

  7. I agree with PF. Start clicker training It will help heaps for hand touches and such. Btw a hungry dog will be food motivated
  8. I discovered the site yesterday!!!! Lame excuse I am so sorry
  9. I discovered the site yesterday!!!!
  10. The food is coming out through the mesh. I actually think it's better when the dog can bite/chew on it and not a lot of food is coming out (that's why it really matters what you put in). Otherwise the dog just starts eating and doesn't want to tug anymore. Thanks for clearing that up,so chunks of things like devon, sausages, frankfurts would be ok? Yep I think it should work . It all depends on the dog and their preferences

  12. Any time LP :D My golden tugs heaps at home but she is a reluctant tugger outside. I am slowly teaching her how to tug with a tug-it so she will tug with me anywhere. I found that stuffing it with sausages or chicken necks works the best. Btw this website has a movie that teaches you how to teach a dog to tug on tug-it http://www.nosetouch.com/
  13. I think Ptolomy uses Herring and Sweet Potato for her girl with allergies. Maybe PM her? Sorry off topic, but what happened to Gracie when she was on raw diet?
  14. Thanks everybody! I will definitely be keeping a close eye on her (will take a day off tomorrow just to be on a safe side). Thanks again
  15. Thank you so much Vickie I will keep an eye on her. When I called the vet they were not very clear about giving her serum if she doesn't show signs (I think they just didn't want to say they wouldn't do anything).
  16. Ok I found a tick on my dog (she is on Advantix, last application 9/11!). I removed it. It looks like a paralysis tick, it's very small (couple of mm). She doesn't show any signs at all. Should I still take her to the vet? Will they do anything even she doesn't show signs?
  17. that's very true that's why most people who feed grainless foods pick Orijen or Artemis Max dog
  18. woolies! how awesome I have one very close to my house so will check them out thank you!
  19. I know some people posted that they can get it from IGA stores. Which section of the store (frozen meats or dog food)? Has anyone seen them in QLD? I know one DOLer saw them in Brisbane, I was wondering if more people saw it anywhere?
  20. LOL forgot to say it was great to meet you and Bindi! She is gorgeous and I couldn't believe the progress you two made!!!!
  21. I wanted to thank so much Ann and Tony for organizing an amazing agility seminar . It was my first time at Tailwaggers camp and I am absolutely in love with the place and people. The cabins are a dog heaven, the grounds are high on the mountain with fabulous ocean views and the food was just absolutely delicious. Le Hammer and Keith Edwards are fantastic trainers and I have learned heaps! It was very good to see trainers who can train all type of dogs with different types of drive and focus. I also loved the setup of running a course in the morning and working all the difficult parts during the day. Ann please keep us updated with the upcoming seminars!
  22. congrats Dee_al! Has anyone filmed it? I would love to see it on youtube
  23. I would feed whole: chicken, rabbit, quail and fish and almost whole lamb and roo (all without the weight bearing bones).
