  1. I buy it from http://www.naturalpetstore.com.au/
  2. CR arrived ;) !!!!!!! I am going through it and will be sending the orders asap :D
  3. ~Aimee~ I recommend you read "Give your dog a bone" or "Work wonders". 4 paws is not great food (not very healthy for dogs because of the high content of grains in it) so I would not feed it regularly. I do use it as a treat though for our agility or tracking training.
  4. Ok everybody, while we are waiting for the order, could everybody please send me their postal address? I know Ness's and LP's ones. TSD is combining the shipping with LP. Ness is combining the shipping with Rivsky. If anyone else is combining the shipping please let me know.
  5. What is the difference between making up your own BARF patties and feeding them as well as bones, and buying the commercial BARF patties and feeding bones. Nothing that I can see apart from convenience. The dogs are still being fed BARF they are still on the receiving end of a good diet, which is the aim, Yes? I have nothing against patties, I buy the patties myself from time to time I just don't think they are BARF since BARF is mostly raw meaty bones
  6. lack of bones? Exactly! BARF is 60-70% raw meaty bones, not patties So when the term "BARF Patties" is used, is this incorrect???? Originally when Dr Billinghurst designed his diet he said BARF is 60-70% raw meaty bones. But then he realized he can sell patties, call them BARF and make money for people who don't want to think too much about dog feeding. Because of this 'BARF commercialization' he lost quite a few fans.

  8. Innova Evo is available Australia wide from Pets Paradise and is a very high quality, grain free kibble. But you have to support PP to get it Hence why we've never tried it. I know it's not a great situation, but IMHO it's the best kibble available in Aus at the moment. I think Artemis Maximal Dog is just as good and you can get it from some great pet stores.
  9. For cleaning the ears I recommend diluted Malaseb shampoo (1:50 if I remember correctly). I am not a big fan of Supercoat. It's full of grains and other fillers that can cause allergies and yeast infections. Are you sure Kate is allergic to all the meats? Was she tested for less common meats like roo? How were the allergies determined?
  10. I used to use Royal Canin but my dog didn't go great on it. She was farting a lot and had huge poops. My other dog didn't like it at all. Now I mostly feed them raw diet but if I do feed dry, it's Artemis Maximal Dog.
  11. If the foxie has a toy drive, I would love to train it
  12. What worked for my cat was to give her chicken necks with a little bit of oil/water from the fish can. She loves canned sardines so I would just use the oil or water from sardines to sprinkle over her chicken necks or wings. Gradually you add less and less fish oil/water until you don't have to add any at all Now I don't have to do it anymore and she loves her chicken necks/wings
  13. I will let people know as soon as I know the shipping costs within Australia. Btw if you want to combine shipping interstate please let me know ahead of time
  14. not yet ... I am hoping it will arrive this week
  15. Sorry it's too late. The order was already placed and shipped.
  16. Midol could you be a little more specific how to make it so it's sensitive to touch ? Thanks!
  17. Chicken mince and rice is not a complete diet. Feeding a whole chicken (muscle meat, bones and heart, liver, kidney etc) is much closer to a balanced diet. Your dog doesn't need the rice. It's a filler.
  18. For those who don't use food... what do you use? Toys only?
  19. I would recommend you watch GD's DVDs (esp if you can borrow them from your club). They are awesome BTW there is at least one, mostly two or three crosses at the novice level courses, so you definitely need to feel comfortable with these.
  20. I think the vids are great! He is fast and eager. I am not sure how is your club structured. I would suggest you finish a handling class before you sign up for any comp. Since it's an ADAA club, I would suggest finishing the starters class before competing. To be honest agility is not about knowing how to execute each obstacle (this is should be taken for granted), agility is more about handling between the obstacles. Does he know front and rear crosses? Do you know how to execute them? On the 2nd vid you are executing a cross but it's a blind cross (you turn your back to the dog, which is not recommended). In the class, when you said there were 5 jumps, are they in a straight line or is it a GD box? If you are able to practice the GD then it's great and you should give it a go at least for the jumping class (without the contacts).
  21. I am not sure how long you have been training for. I trained Midge for a year and Laffi for a year and a half before we entered our first comps. Can your dog sequence now? How many obstacles in a sequence can he do? What class are you in now? I was told once that it's time to start competing if your dog can run much more advanced courses than the ones at beginner's level. There is a lot of truth in it. A course of 20 obstacles without rewarding during the course is hard for a dog that is used to run 3-4 obstacles. They can get discouraged easily and loose all the motivation.
  22. I think if you don't get in anybody's way you should be able to walk it . My OH walks them with me although he never competes My instructors always encourage me to walk harder courses just to get a feel about what's ahead of us
  23. I think walking the course is almost as important as running it . I would be very surprised if you were not allowed to walk the course. I usually walk the course 3-4 times. 1st time to just see how it flows 2nd time to see all the straight lines the dog should see (so I pretend I am a dog lol) 3rd time to decide where to put my front/rear crosses 4th time I run it as fast as I would with my dog
