nope, the canned ones are usually cooked/ready to eat

yes it is safe to feed raw sardines! I actually would prefer that option to the canned ones

Sags, would you mind to elaborate why you think Maximal is so different from Evo/Orijen? All three foods have high meat content and no grain. So are you saying Maximal keeps condition on dog nicer than Evo/Orijen?

I like your new siggy too

everybody None of my local vets wanted to get it in as they would have to buy more than one Fortunately University of Sydney Veterinary Centre offers them and they are only 45min from me so we are booked in now

I think it's the same, but manufacturers have done clinical trials showing that most dogs remain immune for 3 years after the puppy shots, so manufacturers are now willing to issue a protocol that recommends vaccinating only every 3 years. They weren't willing to do that before the clincial trials since it would cost them big money if it turned out they were wrong. Vet may not be prepared to give you a certificate saying the dog is immune for 3 years unless you use a vaccine that states the manufacturer also recommends vaccinating only every 3 years, although your dog probably still will be immune for this long. Thanks for clarifying it

Would you mind telling me where is your vet located? All my local vets follow the old protocol and only do yearly vaccines. It is true that the '3 year vaccine' is not different from the usual 1 year vaccine. But not to confuse the vets (I think) it's advertised as a different/new vaccine.

It is the same vaccine but I want a certificate that I don't have to vaccinate for the next 3 years and my local vets don't want to provide it. I would like to see a vet that is willing to follow the new protocol and state that it's a 3 yearly vaccine (so I can use it for clubs/kennels etc).

I have been calling some local vets to ask about the 3 yearly C3 vaccination (like Nobivac) and none of them knows about it/wants to learn more about it  Does anyone know a vet that offers these in Sydney/Wollongong area?

I know how frustrating it can be when the dog is not motivated! Have you read "Ruff Love" by Susan Garrett? Maybe some ideas there might help? (I am happy to lend it to you if you want

If he swallows them raw , wouldn't he swallow them frozen ? nope just try it, you will see they will slowly chew on the frozen chicken wing my golden retriever used to swallow chicken necks whole, after giving her frozen raw meaty bones she now chews everything, even fresh chicken necks :D
