4 healthy GSD puppies arrived this morning, 2 girls and 2 boys. All settled well and mum is doing a great job. Will post a photo in the next day or so.

Thanks Mjosa it's Mathildaa's Mum who is expecting a singleton. Wishing you all the best for your singleton too Mjosa. I go to Chris at Noah's Crossing and its his advice that we have a ceasearian this time hoping for more than one live pup. Will keep the thread updated.

I can totally understand your concerns Mathilda's mum. We are having a Caesarian this time because my mum to be has such a slow second stage the pups don't make it out alive, still makes me nervous...... I hope whichever option you choose your Leo girl has a beautiful pup for you :)

It's edging closer to my girl having her pups, feeling a bit nervous as I usually do. I hope everyone's girls are doing well :) every time I try to take a pic I get a sad face from her. She'll perk up once the pups are here if last time is anything to go by :)

I will come out of lurking and join. We have a litter of GSDs due on 5th, litter confirmed by ultra sound.

I think I paid $350 or there abouts at Noah's Crossing, this includes 12 months of storage fees. -
Haughty McNaughty on FB make custom crate covers among other things. Can be contacted via email on [email protected]

Thanks, I'll probably wait a while until it's published. I assume I'll also have to join dogs SA, which is what put my off last year Yep you will need to be a Dogs SA member, part of the deal of it being recognised as an ET. It's usually a nice relaxed atmophere too which is nice

The person to contact in SA is TRIALS MANAGER Mr Ian Cooke H: 08 8524 2185 M: 0418 832 722 the other email address is for the president. As far as I'm aware the schedule hasn't been finalised yet, it's always advertised in the Dogs SA journal though. This is Ian's first year as the trial manager (he has loads of experience)so he may take some time to be able answer questions while he finalises all the details.

Agree with looking at an alternative bed option. Could you also try rewarding her with a treat (one that takes time for her to munch on) for being in her crate in it's new location- positive assosciation might be helpful.

I can't encourage people to get behind this more. This organisation has been start by an amazing young woman who is very passionate about the special relationship that dogs and children have. She started a program in SA for dogs for kids with Autism within another organation before moving to Melbourne and starting this amazing organsation There is also a facebook page Page here

My girl is doing much better, settled and happy within herself. Have found that massaging the lump is helping but still not totally gone yet. Thanks to everyone for your advice and support I know I don't post often but do read and take it in.
-
Yep I've been placing a hot towel on the area then massaging it, we are making some gains with lump which I'm pleased about. Here's hoping it's smooth sailing from here for her.

We've given her biscopan and been to the vet, she does have mastitis and had commenced on antibiotics. Seems a little more settled overall, likes her den area now to wait for the antibiotics to kick in. Thanks for the suggestions everyone it is much appreciated.
-
Interesting Sway, what's the thnking behind the oxy injection? We are off to the vet today because she now has an elevated temp and it looks like mastitis
-
Thank Ellz, have dosed her this afternoon as thought that might help. Den has been contructed so we will wait and see. She hasn't tried to move the puppies yet and seems content while in with them just when she heads outside. Thanks Jetpoint I hope she does the same as your bitch

And thank you Underfoot and Ozwildflower

Will rig up something tonight when hubby gets home to help her feel more secure, have been letting her do her thing and staying away as much as possible hopefully this will settle things for her.

I have a GSD bitch who whelped her litter on 28/9/12, it was a difficult birth, she has been to the vet for a post whelp check up and has passed the one placenta that was retained. The pups are all thriving and putting on weight, a content brood. Today my bitch seems unsettled wanting to go outside often and is digging behind a tree to create a nest? She is eating well, no issues with pooing or weeing, gum colour is good, temp is normal. We have no had visitors and only my Husband and I are attending to her and the bubs- no one else in the house except the other dogs who have all been kept seperate. Have given some rescue remedy- seems to be working for the moment, how often can I give this to her? So any suggestions as to why she's so unsettled??

Exciting times SnoFyre, she certainly has got quite a few in there :)
