  1. I can't wait... I love the questionaire... Rate out of 10... Please rank your dog on his level of food drive.. I was tempted to put 11
  2. I'm all ready to go..... See you guys Saturday... go the gundogs
  3. My guys go nuts over cabanossi and tuckertime cut up into small bits. The drops they did last night were awesome. Amazing what food can do
  4. I think his name is George Schofield... There is another thread about him.
  5. Thanks for that.. hopefully he will find somewhere soon.
  6. My girl gets compacted anal glads all the time.. May I have the instructions send to me ? Also, what can I give her to make her poo's harder .. they are pretty firm now but not hard.
  7. I do have a coat king... but since I am not showing anymore, clipping was easier for me. Plus my kids do agility and go bush so they do get very hot...
  8. Awwwwwww why can't they look like that forever ?
  9. I use thinning scissiors on my two but I have to get in quick.. Eddy likes to grab the gel and make all sorts of weird styles on my two. Also, after I have done Maverick, he has sort of a cow lick in the middle of his head and it sticks up no matter what I do, so he always has some weird hair style going, plus the drool across the nose.... hmmmmm
  10. Mai loves Macca's chips but Maverick loves banana, mango and ice cream.... Now how do you clip the underside of a boy cocker ? I would love to do it to Maverick but he has boy bits that I don't like 'on show' so to speak ? With arm pits, I don't tend to clip them. Too scared I will cut them I suppose. All I do is while I am watching TV, roll them over and comb. They fall asleep that way. Aloveen is great if you have a really big knot. I do this about once a week and it keeps them knot free.
  11. Macca's chips.... With trimming the feathers, all I do is get my fingers and squeeze hair together on front leg, the trim down on an angle towards the leg.
  12. As you know I have the same problem! Now I clip the top (most cocker breeders have heart failure when I mention this) and thin underneath. I have a pair of thining scissors which are a god send. Roll said shag pile dog over and thin with scissors Also, I have a pair of grooming scissors which I trim feathering like show dogs. Mai has been clipped all over so her feathering is still quite short (I am growing the feathering out). Maverick on the other hand is a walking nature strip and I am constantly grooming him. He has his feathering trimmed and thinned. I will take a photo of him tonight for you
  13. Peter ? Great news.. he is a good guy
  14. Repeat! Do not leave treats in bag for weeks at a time.. My guys love Cabanossi, Devon (in rolls, very cheap), cheese and BBQ chicken but chicken can get messy with the hands.
  15. He is wonderful. Peter is a straight down the line bloke who is into greyhounds. He does alot of show and agility dogs. His dad is also a chiro in Melb. Holly
  16. We go to a great guy out at Londonderry.. Peter Schofield. Visited him just yesterday and boy, was my little girl Mai in pain I thought she was sore but the poor poppet was a mess. She is much better today! Maverick was sore as well but that never stops his tail wagging tho
  17. George wouldn't happen to have a son, Peter who lives in Sydney ? We use Peter Schofield up here who has a father who lives in Melb and a who is greyhound trainer. Peter is fantastic
  18. Would you travel to Sydney ? I know a great vet in Sydney... Dr Rob Zammit.. He is a vet and a breeder. He also has specialists that come in from time to time...
  19. We use several different treats but the favourite is cabanossi. They go nuts. We also use cheese, devon (those rolls), liver, Good-o's, pigs ears and we buy some nice organic loaf from a lady who cooks it especially for dogs. I find BBQ chicken messy but of course, the dogs don't care.
  20. There has been alot of talk about this on one of the Yahoo groups. A vet finally spoke up and her suggestion was that you use Frontline with a tick collar. Double back up but still do daily checks. She said that Frontline can reduce the severity of tick paralysis. Also, the tick collar can be fatal if eaten so no good if you have puppies or dogs that like to rip each others collars off.
  21. Tick's are a right pain in the ass Pulled two off our guys over the weekend. Mai had one and it had only just got there and one of our JRT puppies had a large one. I was very concerned and didn't let it out of my sight for 48hrs. Mclennan... glad to hear that you have spoken to Bill & Vi... I want another cocker puppy now :D I am off to buy some tick collars and frontline for this summer.
  22. Thanks for the tip Poodlefan, will try that on my black/white cocker. She has stained bits ;)
  23. Laserlites.. fantastic stuff and goes a long way! And Aloveen of course
