  3. Phillip Island, VIC http://www.stayz.com.au/62516 We have just come back from a lovely weekend at 'Seventh Wave' beach house on Phillip Island. Went with a few friends as it is a lovely big house; and had a ball! My friend brought a dog and so did we and it was very dog friendly. Dogs are allowed inside, bowls /beds provided etc. It's really well set up, everything you could need in the kitchen! It was just across the road from the beach - one of the dogs allowed beaches of phillip island (Have to be careful what time of year you go though as part of the year dogs aren't allowed on the beaches). The dogs had a ball and I will most definitely be going back - the house was just amazing - so relaxing, great views.
  4. mmb I didn't think of that advantage - very good point!!!!
  5. Glad to hear nothing serious and guess that explains the lack of eating.. :)
  6. I love Shar Pei but also really love my friend's little chi x tibby x - just soooo cute.
  7. Lyss they are dog tags with QR codes on them: http://www.furcode.com/
  8. Prefer males - but the females are gorgeous too..
  9. Dogs seem to cope really well with changing their names. Sometimes it's good to change it to something with a similar sound; but they seem to adapt quickly regardless.
  10. A rescue I am involved with uses them. They have been enormously helpful and have worked well in a few situations already - I think they are a good back up :)
  11. Consider whether the breed is likely to cope well with your horse as well by the sounds of it ... Shar Peis are natural guard dogs. They will only bark if something is seriously concerning them generally, however some have a natural prey drive, some others, so it might not work in a rural type situation..another breed to consider. Some drool, some don't.
  12. Hope you can get some help - not ideal situation for all
  13. Favourite - Shar Peis Not sure there is a least favourite..
  14. Newfoundland Bernese Mountain Dogs Finnish Lapphunds All totally impractical given our lifestyle, but I do love them!
  15. Have to admit, most certainly a baby talker...
  16. hhaha summer rolls - love it - hilarious description :D
  17. Oooh cool - thanks for the heads up!
  18. The day our boy Alfred passed away at 18 months of age ; we came home and went out into the backyard to give our foster dog at the time some cuddles. She picked up one of his favourite toys, shook it around like he used to do and played with it. She never did it after that day, and hadn't really played of her own accord before that day either. It was very spooky. I do feel perhaps it was Alfred.
