This thread could have been very interesting but............... I know a lady who's Lab x was given 6mths to live due to cancer. She started to give it CS in hopes to save it, that was 18mths ago. CS hasn't cured the cancer but the cancer hasn't spread. I was told that CS will turn you blue/grey if it is out of date or when extremely high doses are taken. CS is no good when the silver is no longer suspended in the liquid and that's when it becomes dangerous. You can tell. If there is a grey sludge in the bottom of the bottle, DO NOT USE IT!

How To Groom A Weimaraner?
Greybabies replied to oceanaussi's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
OA I us a rubber groomer also, I find it does a great job. The best one I have found is one I bought from a saddlery shop. Cheap as chips I think I paid $ 3.00 and it works a treat. I have a LH carrier, my girl, I use it on her with great results. As you know I show my boy. Before a show I wash him then when dry I use the rubber groomer to remove dead hair and to bring the oils back up in his coat. Finally I give his coat a polish to make him shine. Go the rubber groomer. Use it first then if you like use your soft brush to smooth the coat. Avoid brushing a dirty coat and don't bath too often as it removes the natural oils from the coat and skin. -
The Dog Listener Methods
Greybabies replied to SALTWOOD's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I think the women was asking how to deal with a timid dog that she owned, that was when the bit with the chair happened. The women then asked if she should continue to take her dog for walks even if the dog was frightened and Jan got a wwweeeee bit cranky then! Apparently while going through the bonding procedure the dog is not to be taken out anywhere! -
The Dog Listener Methods

I thought is was great BUT lost a little faith in the end. Did she not say that, the leader had to be cool, calm, collected and in control in any situation, a true leader keeps their head when all around is loosing theirs!!! I think she lost it a bit at question time. There was a lady standing beside me, when a few people approached her after the questions, this poor lady asked a simple question and the response from Jan took me by surprise, she actually threw a chair on the ground in an irate state and started ranting to this poor women, using the four legs of the chair to make a point Have started to use her method and I must admit that my guys are a lot calmer and better behaved. -
I have 2 Y's, my oldest my girl is docked, my young boy now 13 1/2mths has a tail. I can understand how u r feeling because my young boy has a broken tail also, he also has a lack of feeling in it. I'm a bit reluctant to have his taken off, due to the fact that he is in the show ring. My boy has 2 breaks that r not displaced, meaning that his tail doesn't hang limp, it has a bend in it and a fracture directly after the second break. This doesn't seem to bother him much or anyone else for that matter, if the judge looks at his tail strangely I tell them it's broken. He has obtained his title broken tail and all. The first break happened at ten weeks old, when being a silly bugger he jumped up only to come down awkwardly landing on his tail, the second happened in the back yard playing with my girl Y, I don't know what happened but BAMMM! He screamed and then his tail kinked back the other way. The fracture, well, it happened only a few weeks ago, running around the yard came tearing through our Pergola took the corner too wide and flicked the steel patio pole with the tail. Maybe sometime in the near future I'll have to make the same decision because a patch of hair at the first break is not growing the way it should, it is short, coarse, very brittle and is lighter in colour then the rest of his coat. I have also found that Vets r very reluctant to make a decision as to take off a tail. Goodluck with your decision I'm sure it will be the right one.
