Dog looks o.k. to me. Definately not emaciated.

oops I didn't see the quote I replied to was an almost 1 year old post. That's great news and a step in the right direction.

no but it is a step in the right direction

Yes we use John for repro services. He is good.

Monash is very pricey with ALL their fertility services. I got my frozen semen shipped to another clinic and probably paid about 1/2 the price I would have been charged for Monash.

Michael is awesome

Way to take what sway said out of context. I did call her almost nutty, now I know Annie99 IS nutty. Ha ha ha. I don't care what any of you say. I get supportive PM's from lots of people who would prefer not to engage with people who sling mud and insults. Remember this "A man with no enemies is a man with no character." ... "A wise man gets more use from his enemies than a fool from his friends." so your a lawyer and a philosopher

That is exactly what has been happening for many, many years. Some people are passionate REAL dog lovers and will risk trespass charges and criminal record to protect and bring awareness of puppy farms http://www.prisonersforprofit.org.au/?p=385 Oh yay an animal liber. You should google PETA and go on a posting spree there. They will like you I'm sure.

That isn't the largest size. I got 3 soft crates that look like that on ebay for about the same prize last year. The dimensions are larger than mentioned here. Still a good buy for a medium sized dog.

If Annie has a legal background then I'm the queen of sheeba.

How do they have a greater burden? There is no difference between an ethical ANKC breeder and an MDBA breeder. Only that the MDBA breeder member has coughed up more money to be a member of an extra organisation. if we use selling to pet shops, ankc breeders can sell to PIAA pet shops and mdba members can't so therefore a greater burden is placed on mdba members as they are not allowed to sell to pet shops which reduces a point of sale for them And you think an ethical ANKC breeder would? Selling to a pet shop wouldn't even enter the equation for the majority of ethical ANKC breeders.

Not selling to pet shops = Are you sure you are a lawyer? certainly doesn't come across that way.

Um Isnt Showing A Desexed Bitch Wrong?

Just because someone knows or can see the other side of an argument does not mean that they are breaking the rules. I tend to think I am fairly open minded and leave my rose coloured glasses at home. I know people cheat, I know there are many ways for people to cheat. I have NEVER cheated. I respect a great many of the people in this thread that your comment is no doubt aimed at, just because they see the other side does not make them unethical very good. amen -
When Buying From A Registered Breeder Poll 1
whippets replied to SwaY's topic in General Dog Discussion
I don't care for flashy websites full of sparkly rubbish and those weird "cursor" paw things (that I zoom all over the screen). I want the website to be professional looking with correct grammar and spelling otherwise it looks tacky. I also can't stand those midi wave music that goes on websites either. I am not a member of a breed club so that doesn't bother me if someone else isn't a member. In a previous breed I was show sec and vice president and quite a few only joined to get their pups on the litter register only. I commend all those hard workers in breed clubs/all breed clubs but I just don't have the tolerance for the drama and BS that goes on. Waited nearly 2 years for my first whippet. I wanted one from a specific breeder in the country and they were winding down their whippet breeding so I had to wait a bit. Was well worth it though... -
I think that's your interpretation but I don't think it is the correct one. The criteria for MDBA membership would be fairly clear and I think when people can see what the MDBA's criteria for membership is they will immediately know that each breeder member will have met that criteria. It is THEN (not yelling) up to the buyer to decide whether that additional criteria means anything to them or not. I'm sure there are quite a few non-MDBA members that meet the additional criteria as well.....and probably go a step further than that for their puppy buyers. Of course there are but how do we know who they are? ah so there is an agenda.

I'm not poisonous towards the MDBA at all. I think it is misleading to send potential puppy buyers towards MDBA members thinking they will get a superior breeder over an ANKC breeder. It's grossly unfair to taint ALL ANKC breeders with the same brush as dodgy. Posting more stories of unethical ANKC breeders will not do nothing more than send the public to pet shops and BYB's. I am not arguing their existance but I'd wager they are the exception more than the rule. I personally won't join the MDBA because I am forking out enough $$$$ for fees and registrations (including council) with this hobby. I am a member of the ANKC. I'm an ethical breeder and that is enough as far as I am concerned.

Out of curiosity are you in favor of ethically registered ANKC breeders or pushing an agenda for MDBA members only?

You made your point on the first page of this thread, Bokezu. Don't think I would use Suprelorin on a show dog. I can't see the worth of risking infertility. -
Um Isnt Showing A Desexed Bitch Wrong?
whippets replied to Missymoo's topic in General Dog Discussion
Given other things that go on in the dog world, I could care less that someone is showing a desexed dog....big deal. so you would trust these people, you would buy a puppy off them? they lie, they probably lie about doing health tests and who knows what else. I hear what you are saying as in other things that go on, but surely that doesn't mean we just turn a blind eye to everything and let everyone cheat, thats not the way to do it!! If people had spoken up or complained earlier, maybe there would not be the problems now that you are referring to. If anyone knows things are not as they seem they should speak up or lodge a complaint. And just for the record it is a big deal, they are lying and cheating. Everytime someone artificially enhances their dog they are also breaking the rules. Is that right? that could include any products that mask (chalk) put on a dog or giving a dog those bush essences or rescue remedy to settle them for shows. If you are going to be a stickler for rules then do so in it's entirety and not pick and choose. P.S. "these people" probably drive 5 clicks over the speed limit as well. -
