I prefer email as initial contact to but don't expect me to have a 30 minute conversation on a mobile phone that will cost me $40 (yes it does). So I don't reply to mobile phones for that reason. I don't leave my phone or mobile phone on my webpage for privacy reasons. I hate music on websites and I hate sparkly pictures that leave me with a headache. I also hate cursors that leave trails (the ones that are kind of like magnadoodles). I also hate one page that has so much information on it that a get finger cramp for scrolling down the page in what seems like forever. Please sub your pages and don't put a zillion photos on one page. gah This is good reading. Reminds me to add a "whippet info page" to my own website .

Sometimes it can look like an overbite but when the adult teeth come in it then meets at a correct scissor bite (if the breed calls for a correct scissor). I don't think overbites are a big issue as far as quality of life is concerned. I had a racing grey that was overshot by almost 3cm's (which is a lot) and she looked like a shark . She had no problems eating/chewing

Just cleaned the box and mum up so here they are. SoL not sure which I'm keeping yet. But will run on 2, so either 2 dogs or bitch and dog.

Yeah I can imagine the PETA rescue page with all cute dogs on there. When you go the PETA society and ask about a particular dog they'd say "oh we put all those down last week"
-
PETA isn't an animal activist society. PETA are terrorists. P.S. I'm still waiting for them to drink the "special kool aid" first. P.S.S There is a name for Ingrid. It's called Paranoid Delusional Schizophrenia

:D What a waste of prawns. My house whippet stole a lobster tail on christmas day. She was in my bad books for the rest of the day...she knew it to. Little bugger pouted in the corner all day to. I was so P!$$ed off but  about it now.

They make up names and use PO boxes This makes a mockery of registered ethical breeders. The CC's need to sort this out. It shouldn't be up to other members to police this. A certified copy of a drivers licence should suffice and shouldn't be to difficult to include into the prefix registration process. Liars could use any relative or friends address. I think the drivers licence is better.

Auto-immune diseases in humans are skyrocketing. For example asthma has increased by 58% in the last ten years (National Institute of Health). I don't see any reason who dogs (or other domestic animals) would be any different as far as allergies and auto-immune diseases. I blame our environment, processed foods, synthetic chemical overload and our way of living. People, who like to see their name in journal articles, tend to blame close COI though

Poodlefan is right. I did ALOT of research when choosing potential dog food brands. I liked Innova and few others that are out in Australia BUT their importer and distributor also own the company that sell pets, thus I won't support them. Therefore I use Artemis. It ticks all the boxes as far as: human grade ingredients, quality ingredients and NOT gamma irradiated.

Maiden bitches that don't know what to do but learn and ones that want to take care of their pups but arn't sure is entirely different to a BAD mother. I won't tolerate a bad mother. She would be desexed and pet homed after the litter. A bad mother (imo) is one that: - refuses to nurse/clean pups - growls/bites at newborn pups - refuses to stay in the whelping box with pups - and of course cannot be trusted around the pups (tries to kill them).

No problems with fleas this year. It's the ANTS. They've already short circuited the wiring in the kennels. Little bludgers I know a few in my area that have said it's been a bad year for them. Probably an ant invasion to take over the world

Have You Found A Good Product Through Dol?
whippets replied to 16Paws's topic in General Dog Discussion
Yes I have. My dogs love the happy paws treats and I got my lovely whippet t-shirts from an artist on here. -
You should have got them to breed DNA test your dogs. Knowing the reliability of the DNA for breeds, they'd probably come back as a poodle x . I don't have much faith in DNA for these purposes.

aww gorgeous babies. tic toc... can't wait for next week to come around. Sonnet is so big and uncomfortable. Poor girl She was trying to scratch behind her ear before. She sat down, turned her head down a bit, twitched her ear and her back leg thumped the floor a few times so I scratched behind her ear for her.

Interceptor Spectrum Tasty Chew
whippets replied to all that glitters's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
ooh they're not making the tablets anymore? I split them. This will be difficult with the chewables as the ingredients would no doubt be dispersed unevenly. -
I've made up my mind. The next person who throws a tanty in front of me at a dog show is going to end up on YouTube. I've got a nice new HTC HD 2 to capture the "magic moment".

Yes a finger "mini guillotine" would be even better. The culprits would be easy to pick. They'd be high fiving with 3 digits. I remember a fellow Newf exhibitor who found powdered glass laced raw meat at a Royal show in the late 80's. Luckily for them the dog was finicky. Too many scumbags in this world.
-
Yes I believe there is a hereditary component. I wouldn't breed from a bitch again if she was a bad mother. I had a Newf that was a bad mother. I didn't breed her again.

Any One Else's Dog Too Precious To Go Out In The Rain?
whippets replied to princesszelda's topic in General Dog Discussion
Yes, my house whippet doesn't like getting her paws wet. She holds on to her bladder till her eyeballs are practically bobbing up and down edit to add: after reading the above posts it looks like a few more whippys are quite precious with having wet paws -
I use it as a co-preservative in my skin care forumulations. I can give you a couple of URL's but I wouldn't use it for ingestion because the one I get is cosmetic grade, not food grade. Maybe some online health food stores? or green pet?

I know it's slightly off topic but i NEED to hear about the crazy cake ladies! I think ABC did a documentary on them a little while ago. Cake competition is serious business! Edit: Found it, it was called "Not All Tea and Scones" and wasn't just about the cake judging but about the CWA. I can't remember if it was at the Geelong Royal or Melbourne (probably Melbourne). Anyway there was a punch up between two white haired little sweet old ladies over their fruit cakes. I was mortified but couldn't help laughing at the same time. Does that make me evil? possibly.

The whole thing was BS anyway.
