From memory..we bought our first lot from the vet..and then from the grain/fodder store.

can't help you with dosage... we have used it (in tablet form, years ago, to help with nose pigment) It was reccomended by a breeder of OESD's, and we used it to help 'fill in' pink spots on our OESD's nose These days to help improve pigment, we use IRONCYCLEN .

Hi to make sure it is teething and not an injury..just check , by lifting up his lips to expose the side gums. if you notic a few gaps, and some teeth coming thru, you're right..he's teething! ..make sure he has nice things to chew...like chicken wings if he's little..or maybe turkey wings or brisket bones. Some people use frozen bones! if he has a kong, fill it with nic things, and block the hole with something. pour in some chicken stock(or just water).. and freeze. This will keep him occupied, and the cold will help his discomfort if he has any

yep..side cutters or pliers..a quick yank, a scream and yell and it's over. Ours do it all the time. We pour betadine on..or the pink spray..and let it be. No bandage necessary. The styptic powder is a good idea!

Just a left-field thought..the leg is connected to the pelvis directly by the femoral head, right? Well..if these bones are so far out of alignment..of course it will hurt What if..... the femoral head is removed, as is done for some HD cases? That way..the leg can align itself with soft tissue..and doesn't 'have' to go where the pelvis pushes it. Obviously the use of the leg is unwieldy and painful now... maybe this would relieve a lot of the discomfort? It would also decrease the pain from arthritis, as there would be no bony joint friction to cause the arthritis Maybe totally off -target..but whatever,L&L hope he feels more comfortable soon :cool:

Trust me..he will not 'know' that he no longer is not an entire male It won't change his basic personality, but in all probability will make him a lot less likely to be involved in fights, go looking for bitches in season and being driven by his hormones! He will/can not resent you for getting the op. done They don't think like that . he will retain his good nature.! he won't smell the place out with stinky urine marking getting him castrated..yes there's THAT word Now I bet you're cringing and taking him to some sort of obedience classes will help you all to have a long and happy association.] Book him in ASAP ! :cool:

Hi..I agree.. although he will be excited to be out&about..2 km is too far :D He may well be sore, or just very hot. Puppies do not do the shopping, or open the fridge or the cupboard :D Feed him a bit less, if you think he is overweight. ;) I would recommend a vet check, just to make sure all his joints are fine. maybe you could give him 2 short walks a day, instead of one very long one? And do some obedience in the backyard to keep his brain active. Just a thought too..until he has had his 16 week vaccination, he is at risk of catching parvo etc.

Hi... at 6 mths, she can really enjoy large beef bones, frozen chicken wings and chicken frames ;) Toys? Aussie dog stuff will not be wrecked in a hurry! Please don't buy cute plastic or fabric toys... they can be dangerous when swallowed :D How big is she? I would suggest one of the Kong chewy things(NOT the puppy ones!!! )....stuffed with a 'ziggie' or other tasty stuff, like cream cheese and peanut butter :D Try her out on those dentabones from the supermarket ..ours like them. get the larger ones.

Hi there It sounds a worry.... What does your vet say about her eating problems? Has she been declared fit and healthy? Will she chew bones? has she EVER eaten fresh meat? Does she like canned food? Are all her teeth and gums in good order?

I don't think the drool is something which is able to be 'stopped' ..it is a reflex type thing. To manage the spinning..that's easy!Remove the stimuli! prepare the food while dog is out walking, or in another room..out of sight/sound. hours before feed time!!! have it in fridge/cupboard.. while dog is outside..get bowl out ..call dog in..get him to sit, etc.

I'm sorry that your dog is now suffering.. rope burns are nasty ... but I would have not left a dog where people were working, for many reasons...that's just me tho.

of course she does!! Why would she willingly stand there to be grabbed and forced to the ground? I don't know about beagles. specifically..but ANY pup needs to know that when they obey, and come to their human, there is a REWARD for doing so :rolleyes: You haven't given us much information... really.. How much 'training'/educating do you do with her each day? When you say 'being naughty'...is there anything specific? Something she does regularly? I guess your other one doesn't do this? Do you take them both to a club or something for training? I know barking /'answering back can be annoying'..so, hopefully ,with some more info from you, someone can help you and pup to communicate better and avoid it

then again, letting a vet have a look is probably the wise thing to do.... then the treatment can be tailored for Obi. It would be a shame to treat him for fleas, then find out it was something else! Hope he feels more comfortable soon.

Thankyou folks..yes, I have 2 other goat girls..one due to follow pip over the bridge soon..she is also old and has a lung problem The other is only young. Both of these are quite bossy and aggro with dogs/sheep/each other pip was just the perfect lady....even when, my old Kieran dog grabbed her tail..and pulled the tip off!!! They were friends..but he was exuberant..and used to do the same to the horse !!! Lots of nice memories Only one or two pics, but lots of memories...

the main thing, as mentioned,is to keep the WOUND dry and clean..ie : no mud splashes etc. also definitely no jumping! Apart from that..a walk won't hurt. and driving is very good!

Tonight, we helped Pipa cross the bridge 14 years ago she was brought to me as a tiny tiny kidlet, rescued from the jaws of a feral cat. She was companion to the dogs ,until a lamb and another goat joined the family. Such a gentle little thing..she never grew any bigger than a large dog..and was so sweet natured... For the past 3 years she had various problems caused by a tumour in the pituitary gland... but she always was good tempered about everything. WE were hoping it could wait until after Christmas, so she could go with Emma, our old sheep, who has now had a stroke or something, is blind and not doing well. However, today was the day.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!! Well done to you all may this be the start of a beautiful friendship looking fiorward to more good news from you.

I swear by permoxin spray.. a little goes a LOOng way! One of our oldies attracts the flies..but the permoxin..re-applied every few days works a treat
