  1. Nooooo. The active ingredient is a slow release chemical .. ... So this sits in the dog's body.. releasing amounts sufficient to kill the immature heartworm larvae....and other intestinal worms in some animals.. used externally in some animals it also kills mites.
  2. have a look HERE for a different approach.
  3. I would concur. This needs the attention and help of a professional- so hopefully he can be rehabilitated and become a calmer and more solid dog as he matures.
  4. It could be a reaction to the suture material - or could be a fluid buildup She should be seen by the vet... as it also 'could' be due to tearing of internal stitching. Appreciate the vet is a distance away- but phone them, and perhaps email a couple of pics!! keep the dog absolutely quiet.. and especially no jumping into cars/up on furniture....
  5. I thought this was their first post post 21st Mar 2009 - 07:26 PM So.. only a day or so
  6. that's bad luck As said- often people change over lenses and sell the 'old' ones at a reasonable price .
  7. They are pups- and siblings, and will bark and look for entertainment!! HE needs to provide HEAPS of direction and stimuli ..and perhaps a run ...
  8. With luck, he will be more settled tomorrow
  9. AFAIK.. the stomach fills with gas, and twists on its axes.... like if you look at a sausage- or a lolly wrapper... twisted to enclose the bulge. This quickly cuts off circulation.....and the expanding gut puts pressure on vital organs My Kieran died from bloat/torsion years back now.... horrible. slow typing- much more detailed info got there first
  10. What poodlefan said. She is a little baby- frightened and alone, and in a strange new world. Who will feed and toilet her while you are at work? oops- re read the post.. you will be popping home?
  11. fingers crossed here for a full and uneventful recovery!
  12. unlikely- but it could follow injury. Poor boy... it is a hard one to crack- as if it is boredom/anxiety related... then you have to provide a substitute to get the 'feel-good' stuff happening for him.
  13. All I can think of is to get a run ,and quickly! Stock it with bones etc... and meanwhile- work on some training and stuff.
  14. Ravyk. Causes are varied... from anxiety/boredom to trying to relieve pain of arthritis or nerve damage. It can develop into a compulsive thing, and cause an ulcerated /thickened area-'lick granuloma'. Aloe Vera will soothe the spots... the suggested product will numb and protect them. You could try chiropractic treatment too It helped my old Mitchell.
  15. That's good- at least you now know--and the AB's should sort it
  16. enjoy your pup LOL No- YOU will teach him!! "Puppy School will teach YOU" Glad he is bright and inquisitive
  17. I don't have pittys... and would never, altho I love the look and temperament... I am a huge DADDY fan!!! but it sounds a fair comment to me With a lot of 'trendy' dogs.. pups are often purchased by people who have not the resources to handle the particular coat type, or strength, or exercise needs... So- with a gentle 'warning' coming from Cesar.. some folks may realise that a pitty is not for them.
  18. Something in the dim recesses of memory is whispering "hookworm".... Or IBS ?
  19. Re the water spraying... add some (not a lot!) vinegar to the water .. and the smell/taste will not be popular like plain water!
  20. Hope all goes well tomorrow No! It's scary !! My old wolfhound x dane . Kieran had his head xrayed... and the vet was laughing at just HOW tiny his brain was !! It looked like a walnut!!
