I have only ever seen the results of that surgery on adult dogs- and , compared to the pain and limitations they had- it was great!Pain relief was instant- and dogs who limped into the vet surgery- went out looking happier On checkups , all seemed a lot more active and had virtually no pain. With your pup- I don't know.... and the breed he is- different conformation etc..I can't help, sorry. For the breeder to state there is no HD in the lines is fine-but it doesn't help you Have you seen the parents' hip scores on a certificate?? If you have not been shown anything in writing- I would be asking to see it now.... You paid an awful lot of money for that pup- and if he was born with problems, then I don't think it's fair ( or right). Poor little fella .

I think you need to take your pups to a training school or similar- where they can meet&greet dogs and people... Do you hav friends who are dog savvy.. who can visit your home? Crating/scolding are , IMO only going to make this behaviour worse, as to me it seems a fear based thing What training do the pups get to boost their confidence? perhaps ,when you owned the previous poodles, you were more social in their early months???

It could be ANYTHING causing it. beef, whatever you wash the floors in, grass,weeds, concrete, woodchips, a bacterial/yeast thing on his skin.... Start doing detective work Has a vet seen him?

The whole idea of a crate is that he DOES NOT toilet in it ...rather, by taking him outside - you teach him that outdoors is for toilet- not inside! :D Paper training is ok.. and if he is doing it,and you're happy with it- that's good :D just remember- you have now taught him that the ensuite is his toilet- and he may want to continue using it when he is grown up ;)if he does- it is not his fault

Corvus- did U end up choosing the feisty or the mellow Pup? I would be interested to know more of what his living conditions were like early on- was he with his Mum/siblings til you got him? perhaps he was never properly disciplined by his mum... so now he doesn't know to trust that it's 'just' discipline, and that he's 'supposed' to submit ? I second what nekhbet said, and agree with poodlefan that some things need examining.. Is the pup acting/reacting from fear, or is he bloody minded? BIG difference in handling for them, as you know...

So Sorry that you are getting lots of bad news . You will know more after the tests- and then you can work on what you need to do ...and that includes dealing with your husband. Do you have anything surplus you could sell to help you raise your own funds? That way it would be 'your' money..and may make you feel better ... *fingers crossed the test results aren't as bad as expected *

Hi- I would suggest the FIRST thing to accomplish is to get them used to having independent time.. feed them each a bone/kong.. but in different areas/rooms/crates..out of sight of each other . do this often.. so they get the idea that being alone can be a good thing...then, you can have one out walking/training while the other enjoys his treat calmly and alone... This will take more than a week or two to accomplish, tho Totally ignore any tantrums or noise, or refusal to eat treats.. just do it all again next time...and clean up any leftovers thoroughly!!

Did your breeder have any suggestions? If you tell us the area- someone will know of a good place to start him off in puppy pre-school or such Don't forget- you can begin teaching him at home! Teach him to accept his collar/leash...walk him gently around the house/yard so when he DOES go out, he is comfortable- teach him to sit for his meals- teach him to not jump up... may I strongly recommend you read the three "pinned' topics on THIS page ... lots of useful info! Also..just to get in early- you may find THIS useful! Have a read HERE, as well .

Hi- no idea really- but with a foot which is twisted-- could she be compensating for an injury somewhere else? using her foot this way to take the weight off something..or take MORE weight??

Is there anything happening around about? Weed spraying/building next door...have you cleaned carpets..does he have access to drinking shower/toilet water after you clean? Has he had any ointment/drug/spot on applied that you can remember? Was his food the same? Did anyone give him something different/fatty as a treat?
