make up a pen outdoors for her?
-
:crying: so sorry, shaun and gaylene....
-
Oh Ok well, while he is around the spoilt dog- it is your responsiblity to keep him on the straight & narrow :D It can be done... just do not let him do things when he's little & cute, that you do NOT want him to do when he is built like a brick S#!thouse !!
-
So- your pup will be living with your mum and her spoilt dog, and not you? or do you have the spoilt dog at your place?

Hi did you contact your girl's breeder? What did they say? Did the vet say exactly what the problem is? bone, or tendons, or ??? -
Biting The Bottom Of My Pants/dressing Gown
persephone replied to princesszelda's topic in Puppy Chat
have a read thru HERE.. there are links & things scattered around which may be useful to you also... keep her on a leash perhaps- then when she starts to grab- give her a little tug, say Nooo in a growly voice (DO NOT YELL- except in a life threatening emergency) and then ignore her--keep walking repeat as necessary.... -
Where will you be staying? this is more important than the trip In my books, anyway.. Is it dog friendly accomodation? Does he have a pen/secure yard? Do you have a longl ine for walking him?- I don't believe a pup should be free run in a new and strange environment.... 5 hrs.. he will be well exercised beforehand, and put in his crate ? A break for a toilet walk onlead every 2 hrs... and a little drink maybe- he should be fine.

Oh, Shaun That's awful news. Fingers and paws crossed for your boy....
-
glad things are quieter and calmer now Well done!
-
Now that's helpful for a new owner NOT! some links for you.. LINK LINK LINK

My first thought- when you say she was desexed, and anaesthetised/intubated that there was some injury to her jaw?? Definitely vet visit!
-
In the past, I have used a chain leash for the first few times... pup won't chew that ..and you can walk around happily
-
Good for YOU! have fun
-
Do you mean, go the whole hog and get a DSLR..with interchangeable lenses and all that ? Or- get a camera which gives you manual control and the opportunity to do macro or zoom.. and pre set stuff, but without having to buy extra lenses?
-
Good for piglet training too
-
Ok- next question... what does she do in her day? How much time does she spend alone? What do you do/say when you notice her licking?
-
If it the one foot, the same spot.. I would be thinking she is trying to alleviate some pain.. What has the vet said?
-
First you have to find out WHY she is licking... how long has she been doing it? Is it the same foot/pad always? Is there a particular time she does it? Does she 'chew' at it, or just lick?

So Sorry- run free, Memphis

Toilet Training A Dog That Messes Her Crate
persephone replied to corvus's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
'Umbilical' lead when in the house. change of diet, to cut down amount of solid waste... put dog to bed much later train to toilet on a command..... that's all I can think of at the moment... -
of course it gets louder........ cos his body knows food is coming!!! This is perhaps his only excitement for the morning... and it is his reaction to it. Simple. What is his routine.... apart from getting fed at 5 am..and walked at 6 pm?
-
Time wise it sounds fine One thing... if you are happy , in a few months time, to have a dog who stops, sniffs/pees on walks... then keep on letting her do it now Otherwise.. let her know that a walk is just that. WALKING . toilet her before you go.. then maybe allow one break in a walk..at a time YOU choose . Use a command.. like "free'( I use "off you go")..then for a couple of minutes, she may sniff and/or toilet. Then..it's back to walking.... edited after I put on my glasses and saw mistakes
-
Good news!! Glad she is bouncing back !! Just keep her from chewing bones/sticks etc for a while til everything heals properly. Hope all goes well with the clotting test ,too . No it's not- I was saying that if the pup were mine I would not have left it home alone. Simple. I would have done similar to what the OP did do - get someone to check frequently... or leave it with someone else..
-
Bites are 'ok'... vomiting up swallowed blood from a gum wound/bite is also 'ok'..but I worry that there seemed to be a lot of bleeding... The big concern for me was that the pup had to be carried out this morning, added to the grogginess and apparently very swollen face/head Amongst other things I would be concerned about a puncture wound somewhere else... But- I haven't seen the pup, and so hope I am worrying unnecessarily

especially a pup!
