  1. Not really- I can go a bit bigger tho..hang on
  2. he could well have scratched it and made it bleed- or flybites perhaps?
  3. How unlucky can you get? I saw this poor dead bee this afternoon...
  4. If it's a grass seed, the dogs I have seen with them in are very distressed, holding head on side, in pain, and disinclined to move Where is it bloody/irritated?Got a photo?
  5. Sometimes, too, if the long hairs at the end of the sheath are trimmed short , you may get discharge/urine gathering at the end of the sheath...drying and irritating Those long hairs are there for a reason.. to channel liquid away from the opening. I would also suggest flushing with warm saline a couple times a day .. and see how it goes .
  6. You need to set him up for sucess! Put him onlead..and make SURE he is standing where you want him, then praise/treat. repeat, repeat, repeat. If you are going out a door, or getting food- he does NOT get it, unless away from your person, and on 4 feet only. NO YELLING. dogs don't understand yelling...it just makes them anxious and /or excited. I hate licky dogs.... usually I just give a quiet ,low Gruff! and maybe a flick on the nose. No yelling, or conversation. Quiet praise and a voice without excitement in it helps ours who are that way inclined, so does not staring at them, and not being too overbearing..
  7. he's just playing, as puppies do with each other However, the kids and he will have to learn some rules...
  8. Hamlet started off sleeping outside in a shed with his own little 'den'.. then moved into my room.. on his own bed - when a bit older. Mum has two old girls sleeping in her room...on their own mattresses.
  9. Ok.. What is she fed, and when? When and how much is her last drink? I have a little dog here who I have invited to sleep indoors at night. Have found that if she has dry food as her evening meal... she will drink HEAPS and pee at least once. raw food- one drink ..usually dry nights
  10. Hi- have a read here... CLICK HERE here.. CLICK HERE and.. CLICK HERE This will give you some insight into what's happening
  11. This NOT a good idea. It will not teach him anything. It will NOT let him pant/breathe properly, and he may overheat and get very ill. It may also increase his fear. I will again recommend you get a trainer in privately... one who can see your dogs, talk with you, and help you manage these niggling problems ..for the longterm health & happiness of your boys
  12. If it's hot- and they are unused to it- don't do it Once a week is nowhere near enough walking.... once a day is ok..twice a day is better Where are you situated?.. someone may recommend you a trainer who can help you make well-adjusted little soldiers out of these gorgeous guys
  13. Oh- so not 'proper' KONGS 30 minutes is a LOOONG time to be doing obedience , I think. maybe split this up into two or three sessions... So- these two never get out to walk around the block? Dogs NEED to be smelling/hearing/seeing/feeling the world outside their yard... otherwise they stand a good chance of going stir crazy. You may benefit from meeting with a trainer one-on one...especially if you have a fear aggressive boy Are they desexed? Do you walk them seperately- or they always together?
  14. What 'work' do they get? do they get nice long onlead walks, training sessions everyday...visiting different places..playing with different dogs? If the are destroying kongs- maybe you gave them the wrong size/type? Dogs which are 'working' for periods during the day- using their brains, having to obey commands, be calm, and think--- these dogs are usually MUCH more relaxed and happy to rest, as they don't need the stimulation chewing the woodwork brings
  15. haven't heard of this- thought it was just that mozzies are more active in warmer temps .... Will be interested in results, too
