  1. Don't worry- you're not the first! When i worked at a vets- we would often have people in worried about the same thing..and it could get very embarrassing trying to explain , sometimes, the owners (usually female) would get red and tonguetied and awfully apologetic
  2. Hi if it was obvious during a belly rub-and feeling around... it just means he was enjoying it a lot! he is male, after all .
  3. *fingers crossed* little bits of improvement are GOOD!
  4. If you are suggesting they build a setup where the dog's chain runs along a length of cable runing parallel to the ground... this needs to carefully thought out! It needs to be firmly anchored both ends.. BUT also needs to be made/placed in such a way that the dog's chain is NOT long enough to tangle around any trees/posts/fences. The cable also either needs to be at ground level,(using sunken star pickets) or high enough that he dog cannot jump over it and possibly get hooked up! There also needs to be a swivel at each end of the chain..and it should attach to the cable with a very strong solid metal ring or Ubolt, which will slide smoothly along. With a dog like this- ANY/ALL attachment points of collars/chains/cables are the weak areas, and may ned welding etc to make sure he is secure/safe. It is not an easy thing to set up ,if you have no previous experience....
  5. question: How did you spend New Year's Eve? Answer: Trying to diagnose a sick boofa's problems ! What else would I /we be doing? Gotta love D O L.
  6. Another one here to say ditch the eucalyptus oil.....
  7. *crossing fingers that Grover stays comfortable ..and stable.... *
  8. Are you able to house him OUT of that crate for 24 hrs? Just see if it makes any difference at all... he may have a cumulative loading, which just needs a slight amount breathed in, or absorbed thru his pads..... all conjecture, of course...
  9. ..and, if it escapes/injures itself in the OP's care ???
  10. Is the ply made out of treated pine????????????????? IF it has been treated with that chrome arsenate- that may be what is making him so ill.... just a thought. years ago , a lady brought her lab youngster into our vet... flat as a tack.. needed a drip, looked awful... can't remember teh details... he picked up, so we sent him home. Came back a couple days later..... repeat. Finally we worked out that yey had put pine lattice across the back door- and he had chewed it! I know- your boy has not chewed his crate, I'm sure.... but.... I have this phobia about treated pine .... Do you use any of those 24 hr spray things which dispenses air freshener or insect spray? has he been lying in the sugar cane mulch? lord- it could be ANYTHING
  11. What sort of fleas are they? Big active dog fleas, or the tiny rabbit/stickfast fleas? they have different lifestyles and control methods .... What chemicals are you currently using?
  12. Why feel guilty? he will never miss his testicles......
  13. dingdongdell...that's easy fixed ;) spray very well all round the bin/lid/interior with a good outdoor surface spray!!
  14. Good luck with it all ;) (wonders if betadine would work, and be quicker than canesten??? canesten is so slow, and so expensive. Any sort of fungus/injury here gets betadine these days!)
  15. Please- if you are at all unsure of exactly WHAT your dog is thinking- get a professional to come and spend time with you, at home ... an obedience 'school' is often not the best answer for problems such as this
  16. Oh- what a sad end to the decade for you...
  17. jacinta- on your profile- there is no information ... if you have used your real name- then you may be able to change it if you are so concerned... but honestly- with one first name, and a city/town population..how on earth could anyone find you???!!!! your dog would have to be a very valuable and special one for someone to go to all that trouble Most folks here give an area, or a city-- it is of GREAT assistance if info is required for vets, obedience classes, trainers, boarding kennels.... all that sort of thing
  18. Agreed Frogs are protected, and struggling. You cannot relocate them either- because of a froggie fungus (dangerous to frogs only) fence off your pond properly- keep the water going, and enjoy knowing you are helping out the struggles of our frogs! Hope your little fella continues to be seizure free . He will love being able to go outside again!! perhaps there was some spray or something from next door?
