  1. I would think that, after all the diarrhoea and vomiting, his system would have been empty. A few mouthfuls of boiled chicken will not be much in the scheme of things . Are you boiling the chicken and rice together? doing it this way- in a minimum of water .. and almost no salt.. means that the chicken breaks down and saturates the gluggy rice with flavour Cut chicken into small pieces before cooking.....
  2. perhaps he is feeling great! Don't panic- and call your vet when you can, and discuss it .
  3. leo looks MOST unimpressed WELCOME BACK Ambervale and LEO!!!!!! I send so many people scurrying off to read his story.....
  4. So sorry- R I P Flash girl ...
  5. Glad she did no damage last night!
  6. Just wondering how your girl is today?
  7. That's not what I meant by 'bits' I am thinking more of reproductive organs/gristly bits of feet/.....
  8. Sounds very much as if she is nursing a pain or something As you have picked-behaviour like that is usually a sign of something not right. Is she toileting ok? Is she desexed? What is her temperature tonight?
  9. I guess because a lot of humans would not normally eat the 'bits' of animals which are cooked up - so as it's not the normal cuts- it's not for human consumption?
  10. My first thoughts run like this... If you rehome him- would you rest easy after moving?Do you have a long time frame in which he could be slowly assimilated into another environment? Does he cope well with change now? What's he like in unfamiliar situations? If he were mine, I would spoil him rotten for whatever time is left, and then send him on his journey over the bridge.. I would grieve, but I would not always have that nagging worry that he was somewhere else, unhappy, or confused... Not a good decision..but you have to go where life takes you
  11. Any suspected poke in the eye should be seen to by a vet ASAP . Hope she's ok
  12. What do you do when grooming? if you stand him up- what word/s do you use then to keep him there while you attend to him?maybe combine the two?
  13. No- she didn't really know she was in trouble for chewing the couch- she was reacting to hubby's voice tone/body language. carrying her over to the hole and telling her no would not have meant much to her at all except perhaps made her wary of being caught/carried ... Unless you catch them in the act- ignore.Do not fill in/block any holes with them watching, either- it just makes it a more interesting spot for next time she will dig again. It's fun- digging releases all sorts of scents, and it feels good on their paws. Ideally there should be deterrent/barrier ,so she can't learn just how wonderful it is maybe think of using that ping-string ...digging under fences is not a good habit ;) She;s starting to really settle in now- and, yes, this is when you will see her true nature coming out She is comfortable in her environment, and will try and control it more. GORGEOUS sausage photo! You do such a nice job of your shots
  14. Our dogs go out around 10 pm..then in bed until around 7.30 ish...and last night they bolted off thru the fence after a feral cat! That's their job- so it's ok
  15. Our dogs go out around 10 pm..then in bed until around 7.30 ish...
  16. She's a dog-. They are programmed to do such things. Not at all weird. maybe ,as a start you can make it a new rule that before she goes out ANY door- she sits and relaxes... and do your OWN patrol before you take her out- make sure there is nothing there. Then, yes, correct her ..and do the toilet thing.
  17. oh shame about that breeder. I hope you can get the little fella's joints quietened down soon
  18. My Brother and his dogs do travel - they do sheepwork on different properties..so often they are in the vehicle for hours.
  19. I don't do anything to most of my photos- and most things I DO attempt only take a few minutes per image..I am not a fussy person
  20. he was obviously sent for a reason R I P special boy.
  21. You will probably need either a canopy and crates, or just very solid, roofed crates.Don't forget a thick rubber flooring - for grip, and insulation ....and don't forget , without any airconditioing- the dogs will be much colder in Winter, and MUCH ,MUCH hotter in Summer. We are lucky being out bush- we have a shadecloth 'sail' which we attach to the tray in Summer..it works really well-that and wool underfoot - the working dogs don't mind the travel at all
