  1. PF- that takes me back to my Guide Dog Training days...when we had a litter of 6 mth old pups in . 3 of them attacked and partially disembowelled one other In a couple of minutes. Urk. nasty memory.
  2. We have working dogs (sheepdogs) a few lots of littermates... however, not staffies.....( who, I believe need different handling to what I have ever done)and brought up with plenty of space and work to occupy their little brains.. and make them tired ;)We still have had the odd problem....scuffles only, usually. they do?
  3. I had no advice... but after reading that you are keeping them seperate except when supervised..this raises some flags for me It seems that this may not be a good thing, as they will have an abnormal sort of socialisation in their formative few months? Feel free to correct me...but I would think pups would have an excitement/drive thing happening every time they are re introduced??? Or??? It is after 12 months when they are strong and mature that the serious fighting will be just that
  4. My first call would also be the breeder - as they have experience in multiple dogs ..and running on puppies... I have no advice for you other than that...except perhaps desex earlier, rather than later.
  5. I just think your photos of these guys are fantastic!!! The second one is fabulous!! It should be on a greeting card!!!
  6. Hope all is well.... what are her pupils like? Normal/ larger/smaller?
  7. pain of some sort, I would surmise..... has she toileted ok?
  8. Happy? Naaahhhhhhhh Great to see
  9. So Sorry Rozzie- she has earnt her chance to frolic over the bridge
  10. ...Mind you, if Charlie is still unwell... and he is expecting pain .. does resting in his crate do anyone any harm? I would be inclined to leave his crate .. and bed/s as normal.. and don't force him to stay out of his crate.let him make the decisions.... stay in his crate and rest- but with no people interaction... or come out and socialise gently. No calling, or encouraging either way.... just let him work it through...
  11. May I also suggest that when he was so ill- you carried him around everywhere with you in his crate I remember you saying that you took him outside etc.... perhaps , because he was fussed over so while IN the crate, and it hurt when he was OUt.... it seems a good idea to stay IN it now Maybe you should start being a bit 'tougher'..and ONLY talk to him/praise him, when he is out of the crate, and doing stuff?
  12. The only 'ritual' is the taking of a 'trophy'. Wonder if the roos were treated the same way? These guys were playing the hunter...and took home a reminder. There are ,whatever you may think of them, a lot of these people around. Sad, but true. Run free and happy over the bridge, dogs...
  13. How confusing! BODY ONLY in the box, it seems if it is with the lenses- sounds good
  14. mumsy- have the pups got nice black noses/dark eyes and eyelids?..What about their pads? be very careful..if there is little or no black pigment ,this may lead to problems. Agree that you may need to do some more research. did the breeder say why she still has a 5 mth old puppy?
  15. Lifesize casts of a bearded dragon and a sand goanna, a taxidermied duck (head/neck in some reeds) a little echidna I made, using some dried skin/spikes we found, as a base..and who is very cute , some feathers, a willy wagtail nest, a rain moth pupa case....just a few bits & pieces This is mainly for visitors- a lot of who are overseas/city folk who don't get to see such things normally . pics???? OK! I didn't forget ..and we added an entire shed snakeskin here: The little 'triceratops' beetle is circled in green, so you can see him!!
  16. Python- computers break down, email gets lost.. a phone call will help you find out of the breeder is actually there, or if anything else is problematic
  17. Beena long time .... but AFAIK it contains lots of goodies Antibiotics/binder/smooth muscle relaxant... so it will stop cramping/help solidify bowel content/kill bugs causing the problem...
  18. Dogs are very good at looking after themselves:) She fits nicely!
  19. Usually they are fasted the night before.... if they have food/water in their stomachs, they may vomit under the anaesthetic .. and that can be dangerous. Afterwards- just offer him a drink later on, and maybe a small meal... he will probably be drowsy.Normal food etc next day. keep him warm and quiet and let him sleep! keep him from jumping around too much for a few days..he can still have his toys, of course- but no long walks, or bouncing off furniture he may need an elizabethan collar..chewed stitches are not a good thing. However, if you are with him, he can be watched then- without the elizabethan collar :D
