  1. Hope he has now realised the error of his ways!!!
  2. The dirt/potting mix will of course irritate her gut and make her toilet more often! The gut lining is soft and sensitive, and having sand/bark bits etc scraping it can not be a good thing You may like to look into psyllium husk... When I was told to use it for Hamlet- (weight then about 16 kg) it was 1/2 teaspoon - soaked in some water for 10 minutes, then mixed thru his food... it forms a gel, and protects the gut lining somewhat...
  3. Hamlet only gets bathed about twice a year- I use velevet laundry soap
  4. It could be lubricant- or semen dripping, if he is aroused enough.... boys are yucky
  5. It did look like that...but the OP said which I took to mean (prob. mistakenly) not organic matter.... so went with gastrolith
  6. felix- I was thinking along those lines too poor girl.Glad she's feeling better now!
  7. Reads as if this poor dog is quite unwell...in some form Have you taken him in the car to a new park? Will he walk on leash there, sniff, etc with your dogs? I would suggest calling in a GOOD, EXPERIENCED vet behaviourist... as it is a big worry...a veterinary behaviourist will be able to assess both the obvious behaviour, and any health issues... An obvious question.. were his eyes checked thoroughly? A visual disturbance may cause some odd symptoms...
  8. with all that other yummy food on offer- no wonder he is getting sick of kibble
  9. If it were me- I wouldn't be taking her running- especially not in this warm weather Humans sweat- dogs don't...and she's not fully grown yet... You can buy fold-up waterproof fabric bowls at cheapaschips shops
  10. What a gorgeous face! I love that last photo
  11. He had a lovely smiley face
  12. If they like grass- grow some in tubs for them
  13. Aahh yep - that makes sense, if that's what he's been doing.... poor boy Just needs some recovery time...
  14. Ok- dogs are made for walking/sniffing. That's how they find out about their world A dog left in a backyard will only 'self' exercise when it runs around- usually barking ..or digging/chewing, etc. Dogs in confined spaces become institutionalised...they have no idea of how to interact with the smells/sounds/sights of the real world:( Dogs not walked/exposed to different areas are starved of stimulation...the smells in a yard are very soon totally boring...there is no excitement of a new dog's scent- people's footprints/cats/shops......
  15. I don't believe in the death by licking theory... the dog may have already eaten previous mice, before bringing you that one, IR ?
  16. I would suggest that you just keep an eye on him for now- make sure he is drinking- and toileting OK. Don't try and tempt him to eat. If all seems ok -then offer him another normal meal tonight. if he seems lethargic(more than normal in the heat), vomits, or has diarrhoea..or is doing anything else that seems odd...then contact a vet...
  17. It may not be melanoma- could just be burst blood vessels (old blood goes a browny colour) *fingers crossed it is all ok for you*
  18. Hope it all has a happy outcome- I love that face keep us posted !
  19. may I suggest a vet/chiro/nutritionist .... those feet will be not very comfortable ....and growing as they are, will not be growing into the correct shape ... poor little (not-so-little) girl . Hopefully you can get her back on her feet properly with not too much work She is an appealingly goofy youngster
  20. Her toes look very splayed..and she appears to be 'flat footed' (proper term escapes me )...Hopefully someone more knowledgable will come along and set me straight ...
  21. heinz! Lovely cheeky face Now- in the 4th photo- is it just me, or do her front legs/feet look a bit odd ? Maybe she is stepping- but that conformation looks strange... any othr pics of her standing?
  22. if it were me- no collar- no dinner ..... Now he has learnt that if he sooks for an hour- you WILL remove the collar- and he can then eat in peace
  23. YES! what a good idea- like a gated porch....
