  1. Not caused by an ingrown eyelash or a mild entropion?
  2. I wouldn't :D The less 'bits' which may find their way into a dog's belly, the better!!
  3. We used bonnie working dog for years & years- and all ours did very well. We stopped using it several years ago tho when the formula changed...
  4. Yep- that's what I've heard as well. It does work in the canine stomach, I presume, as it works in human stomachs- I know of it being used regularly to break down gas in a 'bloated' human stomach, which then impinges on other organs. When the simethicone does the job, gas is much easier to get rid of, and the pain and pressure is relieved quickly.
  5. He probably has an upset tummy FIRST- which is when his instinct tells him to eat some grass (I think) Time to check on his worming/diet/treats, etc , to see if everything is normal and ok. ;) Perhaps he needs a supplement or a probiotic? Does he have other things to eat/chew in the yard? Sorry can't be much help :D
  6. Maybe the vet used an A/B which is not targetting 'her' bacteria? I would also suggest using cranberry powder/tablets
  7. When he goes outside to stay- just make sure that bedding is the same one he uses indoors- and that water bowl is easily found. Honest- 9 week olds are actually very adept at survival- and soon work out what's what!
  8. Sorry to disappoint Bubby KNOWS THE TRICKS! he has been well rewarded by sitting, he knows darn well what you're cooking, and he knows when you are likely to feed him treats !!! Nothing gentlemanly about it, sorry---- he just was waiting for something better than a dollop of icing on the floor
  9. The dogs will know their 'rank', even if you don't. Bitches are 'usually' the ones who have the last word I do not believe it is possible to have them see each other as all equal.
  10. agreed. He's not made of meringue- he won't dissolve in a bit of rain- it's not cold, and leaving him indoors in a pen may well encourage more bad habits, like chewing/barking, as well as mucking up toilet training.
  11. SWF = Small White Fluffy dogs, no matter what the breeding. Bones with meat can be a meal, not just a toothbrush, and a nice soft bone like part of a chicken frame or a half turkey wing with meat etc on is a wonderful meal. oh, and you need not put *emoticon removed* in your writings ,we don't mind if you remove them!
  12. princess C- if you feel you could not provide adequately for the mental needs of a collie- IMO you should not even consider a poodle. Poodles are a very intelligent and active dog- great at things which involve thinking and 'working'. Unfortunately, so many people just see the fluff and frills- and fail to notice the sassy and smart canine brain within! As for grooming- no need for the fancy 'do'- just a 'puppy clip' for functionality. Easy
  13. Hi You may find some of your questions answered HERE and/or HERE.. this discussion is for a particular breed, tho. I would not do it
  14. There are treatments from the vet- she will NOT be doing it on purpose have a read of this OLD THREAD
  15. OK- I have asked the question HERE - see if we get any useful information
  16. Oh- and are you first- time owners, or have you had dogs before ( as adults) ?
  17. Living in the NT- you may want to avoid the short-nosed breeds, as they can have problems with breathing/staying cool in hot weather. Also - letting a dog run around the oval means that you will have to put in a lot of obedience training beforehand , and it is also a bit of a concern , with regard to other non- friendly dogs
  18. I was asking re: symptoms as I though a pup in your care actually HAD a problem Buscopan will reieve cramp/spasm... however, it will not kill virus/bacteria. It will not dissolve gas bubbles. It will not alter the acid balance, and it will not stop food allergies. That is what I meant by 'hiding' - yes, the pain may be gone, but the cause may still be present ...and getting worse without being noticed . It is a drug. Aspirin and atropine are both dangerous if used inncorrectly- both originated in plants. Cyanide has plant origins, too! Just because something is 'natural' doesn't mean it is safe.
