Roo tails ,IMO, would be one of the leanest :D There is a pad of fat on the underside, between the skin and the muscle- but the bones themselves would be easy to 'defat' I just poke the spinal cord out with a thin skewer, and run under VERY hot water if necessary .

giraffez- it is possible, that when clipping his ear hair short bits of hair fall into his ear canal- and yes, it would be very annoying/irritating Dogs have ear hair to STOP foreign bodies getting way down in the ear canal (..in some cases tho it can grow too thickly.. yes, I know people pluck it out .. :D )

I just scrub with betadine wash.. clip if there is longer hair over the spot...and apply betadine.

I enjoyed that!! :D Thanks.

ANY dog has the capacity to be a watch dog Dogs need walks on leash - not just parks/ball games. It's the walks on leash which help with communication and bonding, plus gives the dog a chance to 'work' .. they must walk WITH you, they must control their urge to run/sniff/bounce... and this in turn gives them mental exercise- a VERY important thing A CKCC was my suggestion as well

How Often Do You Bathe Your Dog?

Once or twice a year -
Just go to the vet. make sure pup is on a wheat bag or something to keep her warm... and go. Hopefully she will be ok, dear little thing
-
Ah Ok- no ..tell Mum she is in the maternity ward for a reason! Thanks, ashanali.

I think sway is right By all means take her to your vet if your are unsure, tho. your dog 'should' allow you to handle any part of their body.It is a necessary and basic grooming/health procedure, after all Practise every day- when she is relaxed... rub/pat her everywhere! ears, open mouth, rub gums, lift tail, rub inner thighs/belly/touch around vulva.... handle feet nd look between toes... everywhere!

I do not think it is a suitable arrangement in your situation if the pup was an only pup- by all means! As it is, you have all sorts of problems with your little pack- and I worry that this could alter the BC's behaviour yet again , and cause hassles with the other dog/s. It will also alter the way your son sees both pups- he will naturally want to be soft on 'his' dog...and may inadverdently cause damage.

Poor Sick Doggy - Vets Don't Know What's Wrong....
persephone replied to MadWoofter's topic in General Dog Discussion
Sounds nasty Guess osteomyelitis has been ruled out ,then ?The only other thing I can think if is osteosarcoma Hopefuly it is just some infection in a pocket somewhere..and the vets can clear it out *fingers crossed for him* -
Good progress!

Mischa is looking good! No reason her mum cannot have a race around and a play at all just make sure there is a source of warmth for the pup.. say a WELL WRAPPED hot water bottle ..or a warm wheat bag.... and by all means let mum have a few minutes run around the yard - chase the ball, whatever

get the sting out. if the dog is in a lot of pain/distress... soak foot in ice water. for a few minutes anti histamine if you have some.. phone a vet who IS open, and ask advice on the type/dose of antihistamine. Hope it is not too bad a reaction ouch!

Lauckes Uncle Albers here - when there's no fresh meat.

I think so have your dog ON A LEASH when kids are around. Teach him to sit when told teach the KIDS how properly to approach a dog/behave around a dog Praise him calmly and profusely for staying in a sit- or at least for having 4 paws on the ground. ANY behaviour you want your dog to do is going to mean work for you, his TRAINER Dogs aren't always automatically calm. they do not know what we want unless we teach them . If any of our dogs roll over, I know we've gone too far You may enjoy reading thru this - it has some good hints/explanations LINK this too LINK

Oh dear - sleep deprivation He will need to toilet during the night, possibly a few times at first. Now you have taken him into your bed,/let him chew on a toy.... he KNOWS that his behaviour brings rewards LOL! Of course he won't settle - he needs to learn- he does not know that night time means he should sleep for hours ...... but he does know that you will let him out and let him play- you're a nice Mum! 9 pm is an early night... and a very long one for a baby. he will cry- he is away from home, and little. I will leave it to others for advice- I have never crate trained a baby puppy,(only a piglet, and she was easy) so can't help, sorry.

Art is DEFINITELY in the eye of the beholder The last two are my favourites . Just gorgeous stuff . Nice colour- D O F suits my eye The only thing is the lack of detail, or the amount of brightness in the blade of grass the yellow moth is sitting on..... and it would have been perfect to have caught his wingtip. I just LOVE his fuzzy face!! That is so beautifully caught !
