HELP! my staffy’s keep escaping
persephone replied to Emmadi's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
That sounds pretty drastic . Are you in your own home, or renting ? As well as info on what type of fence ..can you give us some info on what else your dogs do during their days ? -
.....and this just happened ( yes, photographed thru a dirty work vehicle window ..I know . Unexpected pleasures, & all that ) This wren was giving 'the other' a very vocal telling off!!

persephone replied to Mildred's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Hi Mildred ..are you able to post up a photo of a meal you give the dogs, or a 'recipe' ? LOL how much dry ( and which brand ) , how much rice/pasta /veg/meat ? That may help . Also - how much poo are you seeing/picking up ? Which picture matches it closest ? -

Help pls- Luxating Patella (WA) vet suggestions?
persephone replied to Tinkzwa's topic in General Dog Discussion
Because it's true ? ;) I had a dog with a luxating patella .. after quite a few times of it slipping to one side, and me pushing it back in , he had surgery and had many years of active and happy life after it . he was a cocker spanielXborder collie . There are some non-surgical treatments for Luxating Patella ( depending on severity/individual dog, etc ) which can also be explored Here are two previous threads about Luxating Patellas : LINK1 LINK2 -

Degenerative Myelopathy. Anyone have experience?
persephone replied to yellowgirl's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Not too bad, thanks, YG It really is good to know you are still caring for these lovely dogs . Take care ..be kind to you , OK -
@Roova...thanks been there, done that a time or 3 before ..It's not good, but in some ways we are fortunate in that our whole livelihood doesn't come from our few sheep like many families up North

Degenerative Myelopathy. Anyone have experience?

Yellowgirl hello again .... Do hope you are keeping well - I won't ask about busy, cos it seems you are ! Dear pip - seems he is in just the right spot , with the best person . he did so enjoy that park ! Can't help with his illness- just wanted to say Hi -
@PossumCorner.. It is a very unsettling Winter One pop used to call a 'green Drought' ..JUST a slight tinge of new growth ..kept alive by traces of rain every so often ... but not grown high enough to graze. Water not soaked far enough down for many tap-rooted plants..and massive dust clouds floating past from farmers S/W of us, in SA - who worked up , many of whom sowed ..and then didn't get the follow-up rain . Their topsoil has now been up-lifted..a lot of grain which did sprout has been battered and decapitated by being sand-blasted ...it's just horrible , but at least most of us are near permanent water , unlike so many on the land away from rivers or pipelines There are many important things ..and watching some of our old sheep suffering is not nice .... our sheep are usually born and die here ..and if these oldies look to be really lagging, we'll shoot them for sure . Two days ago what brought me to tears was the sight of my 30 yr old Cymbidium orchid which the (starving) roos had finally found and chewed off . A lot of them are next on the list for a quick exit from this world... getting very bony & slow. Please excuse the OT ramblings, folks....

This is a photo of a spiny cheeked honeyeater in our eremophila bush . taken thru the windscreen of the 4WD the other day I love these birds- with their liquid warble, and blue eyes .. And this is our Winter "Red Fog" , A.K.A. Dust storm ..not a really bad one .. in that it was fast -moving in 62Km/h winds ..but..... lastly - an image I liked from the recent Adelaide street wanderings

@PossumCorner a nice little bit of photo journalism
