Could it be that he is perpetually 'Hyped up" ?That was my first thought.... there is so much happening each day, that he is just too full of happiness and is eager for the next event :D have you ever trained him to just sit still, under your control, and be quiet? Does he bark indoors when on his bed/in his crate? When is he the noisiest? When is he quiet? Do you speak to him when he barks?

Pinkish Fur - Golden Retriever Puppy

You don't happen to walk him in a harness? Th e colour could come out.... -
If she is so sore that she is reluctant to move- then a vet visit would be advised
-
I would not see this a a problem with the PUP - she is a teenager, bored witless, and all those furry squeaky things excite her no end!!She is being a dog . The owner needs to decide if he wants furry squeaky things , or a pup who needs training and entertainment which doesn't involve small animals . if he wants both- then the hutches will need to be fenced off, or made out of dog proof materials.

Feedback Wanted Re Decent Food For Skin/allergies?
persephone replied to Loungefly's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I agree- the itch could be caused by an allergy to pollen/grass/detergent/ shampoo/carpet cleaner.... grains/certain meat types,fleas...ANYTHING Try a vet first would be my recommendation. -
The cards etc get made by another company- and you pay them. AFAIK you can only use your own images ... or maybe it's changed.

so now we have NO WAY of knowing what is original photo and what's not .

Firstly, find the reason The dog may be nauseous (why?) The dog may be depressed (why?) The dog may have some problem which causes pain etc on eating- and so is avoiding it? Age of dog, previous appetite , recent vet check, any changes in circumstances around time of appetite loss????? Just thinking in a random manner

What breed? Dane X deerhound How old was the dog? 7 Was there a familial component? don't know What was the dog being fed? Need some detail of what exactly - if dry food, which one, if raw, what it was Soaked Bonnie , RMB How often was he fed? Once daily or more? Twice Was his bowl elevated, or on the ground? slightly off the ground- only a few inches What was he doing when he bloated? (ie, at a show, at home, playing, at home alone) It was before he was fed- he grabbed about a dozen meatybites off the ground from where they spilled ( we only had them as an emergency measure that once - he was never fed them) Has he bloated more than once? no - didn't survive the first Has he had a gastrowhatsit? LOL (too lazy to look it up, but you'll know ) no Did he ever bloat after that? no Did the dog also suffer GDV yes Did it have surgery? No - he was PTS What was done to relieve the bloat? I phoned a vet,and I gave him degas capsules when I realised, but he had already torsioned. Due to long distance from a vet,and on vet advice I had to euthanise him.

What To Do About Chewing/eating Her Bed

Years ago, when working with kennelled labs- we had the odd lick granuloma ..... I helped them heal by applying a few drops of something nasty (forget what) a couple times a day- on the spot-along with some panalog ....and ,whilst not being licked/chewed, they did heal, and the dog got out of the habit -
I raise any pups we have, feed them, do early training... by the time they are a year or two old- I don't exist- they only answer to he-who-takes-them-working the sheep. Dogs will pick their person- no two ways about it! :D

What To Do About Chewing/eating Her Bed

Don't get me wrong, tlc -I will use bitter spray etc on bandages, sacred objects- but I think a dog bed should be a place which is totally free of 'nasties' :D -

IMO aerogard etc sprayed on a BED is a bit cruel- with dogs' sensitive noses, the beds would not be a pleasant spot to be Just give them newspaper and op shop towels/blankets.... not as satisfying to chew- VERY insulating/warm, and cheap to replace!! -
Try feeding him his meat on the bone- and make sure the bones are too big to swallow- something like a turkey wing, or chicken frame (cut in half, maybe) that way he HAS to slow down and chew which encourages him to gulp feed SLICES /strips of a largeish size...instead of chunks....... but chewing meat off bones is a better way to slow him down.

I cannot transpose my thoughts into the right terminology tonight- however.. what seems to be missing from some replies to many requests, is empathy- the ability to feel what the other person is feeling, and to say/do what may be of the best help to them at that time. Once the PERSON is feeling more able and empowered, THEN they can proceed to do the best they can for their dog's problem. This doesn't look quite right either- but you get the gist
