  1. I have just read back thru the thread- and saw , as well as Nekhbet's usual sound advice, a lot of attempts to explain to you what was happening, and suggest things which may help..perhaps you didn't realise what people were trying to say . best of luck with your boy ..I hope he becomes the dog you want
  2. Ooh- you will have fun! have a look at these links ,perhaps? LINK LINK
  3. Hopefully they get it/them! Much & all as I love the look of foxes .. they do not belong here
  4. I would also suggest ( because we have 2 bitches here who don't need much to trigger a fight) do NOT have the dog/s anywhere near where you are preparing food - dogs or human . Luckily our 2 are oldish and have blunt teeth- but it is still distressing and needs careful management on our part
  5. mixed breed- .... around 12 weeks I think... so not tiny.
  6. Welcome. Unfortunately, speying your bulldog bitch may not help much, now . I agree that the fight is possibly due to the fact that there are two bitches just reaching maturity..... I have no experience in bull breeds - but would strongly suggest the following- You do need to seek a GOOD professional to visit your home and assess the situation with regards to management now...ask on here for recommendations ...
  7. The lump will go down eventually - if there is scar tissue there it will take longer. She may always have a slight lump there- who knows- but she is still your lovely dog Dogs are like kids- they get bumps/bruises and cuts. They run into things, they fall over, they get scratched- They heal. I would not think a HAT is necessary unless your dog has fragile bones/skull/brain injury.
  8. !!!!!!!!! You may also find some helpful stuff in THIS E BOOK X2
  9. Definitely don't bother with changing food- or using different shampoo ... A full lot of blood tests ,including thyroid would be a good starting point - Hoping you don't let the vet fob you off, and get an answer soon . poor little girl ...
  10. Glad everyone slept! :D
  11. That bit made me wonder as well... I would think he would calm immediately he was removed from the situation that was stressing him .If he didn't - then I would really worry . Baby puppies in a corner, or trapped behind 'mum' will scream the house down ! put them in the open near mum- instant quiet and calm .....is this not the same sort of thing?
  12. Dogs do not need pasta/rice ,IMO unless they are ill or are on a special diet . Keep your little one on what she is used to - and add yummy meaty bones which are suited to her chewing level Now, she could probably comfortably cope with chicken necks or wings...then build up to chicken frames/turkey necks/lamb flabs.. then roo tails etc.,as she gets stronger.
  13. Do you turn anything on/off at these times? heating/fans/ stereo/HW service/ does the freezer/fridge go on auto defrost or anything? Are you on a flight pasth ? is there a factory or anything nearby?
  14. Awwww I have a veryy soft spot for those big nosed fuzzy faces
  15. Take your pup for short walks in the rain - play with it out in the rain . Make rainy weather fun!Rain is a fact of life- and pups need to learn that getting wet is normal They need to learn that they can get wet- and that you will dry them off
  16. Seizure activity is not always the sort you see in movies etc poor little man...
  17. Scary!! Good for your EX Trusting Hudson will be fine to come home tomorrow ...
  18. I am glad you got some help :D Hoping that it is help which will enable you to understand, and work better with, Elbie. Did you get any clear explanation as to his specific behaviour in the car- and any way of stopping./managing it?
  19. Agreed . Unfortunately a lot of people think a 'shelter' is just that - and don't understand that a stressed dog will not be the cute and loving pet it was at home. Souff- very well written . - perhaps he made a desperate attempt ,and bit a staff member? perhaps he went absolutely crazy ... and lost control? It happens.Perhaps this dog was PTS the next morning.
  20. R I P Jessie cat. :hugs: 20 years and a 'first' pet... I know it is hard .
  21. Losing a horse friend is very hard.
  22. It's maybe not cruel- but perhaps inadequate
  23. Hi- is this constipation - or are you just noticing him expending effort in toileting? What is he being fed, and how much exercise is he getting? Has anything changed in his diet'routine around the time you noticed this? Was everything Ok at his last vet check? Are there other problems ?
  24. he is only a baby - may I suggest you try this TRIANGLE of TEMPTATION This will help him learn to look to you before he gets his 'treasures' . I would also suggest making up his food when he's asleep or out of sight. Why get him all anticipatory if it can be avoided ? ;) Break up the routine- make up his meal the night before- when he is away from the kitchen ...then use the ToT for feeding
