How terrible ... poor little pup Your wife will feel the loss for some time ... look around carefully for a puppy who wil be the 'right' one .. So sorry .
-
Pretty boy ..hope he feels better very soon!

If the neighbours and builders are OK.. why not load up with treats, and have an orchestrated 'meet&greet' Maybe once the dogs realise that it's just people- who may or may not feed them treats , and teh dogs realise what/who is making teh noise, they may settle?

Cas- again, I am thinking of you ...

Vaccination In Frontline Site?
persephone replied to Bonnie Pup's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Yep, Vaccs can be given anywhere a peak of loose skin can be pulled up -
Oh, My Gosh ... I just love how she looks in these photos! What a gorgeous girl ! Your boofer is an angel

That is excellent to read - but he's hardly a puppy anymore

Hi new pups are hard work! Like human babies . Because your puppy is only a baby, walking it away from your backyard is dangerous! Until your pup is fully vaccinated it may catch diseases- some of which are fatal. They need to be taken outside to the toilet many times during the day, and some times at night. They need lots of praise when they do things right That is how they learn ! They are only BABIES- so they do not know anything about house rules/obedience/toileting in the place you want. Yes, you will have lots of cleaning to do, you will have things chewed, you will need a lot of patience. BUT- you will have those cute eyes staring at you , and loving you!

your puppy is only a baby yet ... just let him play with the hose- place a few shallow containers around with water and a floatie toy .. leave a tap dripping into his bowl... he will play if he is interested , and if he's not - then that's his choice beach sometimes is not a good plan... a mouthful/eyes full of salt water sometimes puts them off

Oh, casowner R I P beautiful Jake .. strut your stuff over the bridge big boy .

perhaps this explains the unavailable address?moved- no home computer setup yet? LINK

me? I would wait until your old boy leaves you. he deserves to enjoy his twilight years not being ambushed by a puppy -not tripping over new toys- not being confused with all the new action. The younger dog can be kept busy with extra short training spurts during the day, perhaps- and being taught new tricks ? edit to add.. if the old boy was sighted, I would get a puppy now . BUT because of his sight loss-, I worry that he will not be reading a pup's body language, and therefore not responding appropriately to same ... The dogs you have now know each other very well, and so they have routines etc and can cope just fine I just think it is an added burden

Is she anxious/excited in the car? whining/pacing/bouncing? or does she just lie down ..(then upchuck?)

20!! WoW!! She is doing VERY well then ;) Glad she is happier today, too!

Dogs/or One Of Them Has Eaten Half A Block Of Butter..
persephone replied to MissMolly's topic in General Dog Discussion
Don't know what breed of dog you have or if they are prone to pancreatitis .. , sorry :D I guess just watch for any signs of being in pain/unwell... Hamlet once ate a whole container full he has done it a few times actually .. ;) No trouble . (KoolieXspaniel, 7 yr old) Hope all is well. -
;) I did a quick forum search ... these problems are common ones- and perhaps discussions in these threads will be useful for you? LINK LINK LINK LINK

Rear dewclaws serve no noticeable useful function in most dogs, and are usually removed by breeders when puppies are tiny. You can get them removed when you have him castrated - that way there is only one anaesthetic needed ;) Dewclaws can get hooked in things, and rip ... the nails always need trimming too, because they never touch teh ground to wear away .

Aawww- I am so glad to read this update - Ben just looks such a kind and honest soul ;) The nipping does need sorting- and please be aware that citronella , as well as squirting when activated, then may stay on teh coat all day ..being an oil. Not at all pleasant for the dog , I would think. The electronic collars are better in that regard- only activated for a few seconds then nothing . maybe have a read of these threads ? LINK LINK

Trying To Change Dog To Vets All Natural
persephone replied to a topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Just a warning... all the new things you are adding may well cause upset gut again....... or at least make it harder to find the CAUSE of any diarrhoea -
So the plan is to leave these two together? Have you checked on vaccs, worming etc? Does this pup dig/chew/jump or anything? It is easy to teach a pup friend bad habits Have you introduced them on neutral territory? A walk with both on lead somewhere new may be the go for a first meeting

R I P Hugo .. sorry you lost your dear old boy
-
perhaps contact whichever breeder is your mentor - the one from whom you got your bitch/dog, and ask them? What age are the dogs?
-
A puppy running on shiny wooden floors is not the best idea, really- slipping and trying to keep balance can cause injury. Stick to chasey/fetch games outside or on the carpet, perhaps? The littermate- does it live in the same sort of climate? Does it live indoor/outdoor? If where it spends time is a lot warmer- perhaps it is just shedding some coat.. or perhaps it has a different coat type to start with! No way will a puppy have adult coat at 9 weeks , AFAIK

Hoping it sorts itself out quickly if you haven't already - increase his fresh greens .. and foliage browse - he needs those extra nutrients to heal My boy is enjoying teh products of Spring - grasses/seeds/thistles/wattle blossoms/bottlebrush/gum branches/leaves .. all lovely . (unsprayed of course)
