Aahhh.. yes he probably caught it from the next door dogs - it is transmitted by breathing on/coughing on another dog, so that is quite feasible.

Looking For Info On Livestock Guard Dogs.......

Your neighbours will have to be made aware of what you have in your paddocks .... so they or their animals do not inadverdantly enter, and become a target...also perhaps extra barking needs to be thought of? -

A stands for AGGRESSION DA=dog aggressive HA = human aggressive these dogs need a LOT of good management... and the owner needs to be very much aware of their personality/body language and habits/instincts. -
The last one is my favourite You have a perfect subject on which to practice! You may enjoy reading thru some stuff HERE

My thoughts also. If he has KC, he picked it up before he was at the vets. *nods* Try not to walk him much on a collar- use a harness if you have one- the collar presses on his throat JUST where it is irritated The honey and benadryl and rest will help - he'll be fine

perhaps she just gulps? -
If puppies are fat & full, I would not try to increase milk production .. they don't require much in the first week or two ... and if they have round bellies, they are getting plenty :D

Well Caught !

First Time Mum, C-section And Singleton Puppy

Oh - I was going to say don't clean him up - so she can smell herself on him.. but it's too late for that. You could try giving her a good massage - and doing her feet and ears as well.. so you have smell on your hands- then rub puppy , ..also roll him/rub him with some of her soiled bedding. Also - toilet him, and wipe it on her front paws, so she gets the scent/taste. Sometimes, cleanliness hinders rather than helps She will be a bit 'off' for a while, poor thing. -
Can you keep him indoors or in a run at night? You now have an adolescent dog! You have a working breed adolescent dog, who will benefit from lots of direction and mental exercise ..... Adolescent dogs have much more physical ability and mental smarts than baby pups...so ...they need LOTS to occupy their senses. Digging holes for fun is just SOOOO rewarding.Tactile- damp soil , scentwise...all sorts of deliciousness.... there is also the feel of coolness.. the good vibes from physical exertion, and the use of their 'hunting' instincts ...chasing crickets/worms/bugs It's all good! From a doggie point of view . What does Bailey's routine consist of? How long are his daily obedience sessions/walks?Distance-wise. Is he on a controlled walk.. or a 'wander around, sniffing' walk? How much inside time does he have? how much family time does he get? How much play with other dogs does he have ? What chewing does he do? You may well want to get him a digging pit! Clam shell, or a pile of sand, or a built one . At least 60 cm deep ... bury treats/toys, and praise him for digging there. Our dogs are all on sand. They dig sleeping holes. they dig cooling off holes in damp/wet soil. They didg dens for whelping. They dig to bury bones. they dig just to explore . They love it!

I would get a vet check- she may well have a bug I agree totally with her being a baby too!
-
Also, place pup on a NON SLIP surface .. put a mat or something in for her to stand on.... that often helps.Pups can get very scared if they are slipping.

I don't think there is a worry for any kids .. Ermmm earlier this year we had adolescents( pups) .... and we lost about 12 guinea fowl . Dogs are now happily chasing sheep instead( and not killing them :D ) They don't pay much attention to the remaining guineas now ....altho are never left alone with them! Most of our dogs have killed at least one chook.... even my Kieran,(Dane X) who was the only dog I have ever completely trusted with babies/kids killed one .. mainly from pouncing on it with his then 36 or so puppy kilos :D One dog we have killed an old chook ..and there was no biting involved. She just 'set' it and 'set' it , stalking... until it died of stress. One of our dogs used to regularly catch an old chook.. then put it in a hole, upside down.....chook survived this several times . (Oh- and I am talking a period of over 20 years here... there certainly is not a free for all poultry carnage ! ,except the pups for that month or two ..but we didn't realise for ages ) )

Fair enough...BUT, you will probably need a night time toileting routine .. a couple of times during the night, for the first little while- as puppies have very little control....

Sounds like homeopathic medicine if it works, that's great!! Glad you can feel stubble

Do some obedience stuff with them during th e walk.. so they get the tiredness which a mental workout gives :D -
okkkkk It probably feels good , and is very natural to pee/mark things . However, it is not an acceptable behaviour for dogs living indoors/closely with humans. It doesn't often happen that someone comes on here and laughs about their dog peeing on a new couch, or all over the clothes left draped on the end of the bed .... Why then is humping so often seen as mildly/downright amusing /acceptable?

perhpas give her some nice canned food to help with the blanket traveling thru?
-
If you put your dog on a good dry dog food- he will get all these nutrients that way
-
So - he can't chew bone, or can't digest bone? There are other softer bones other than chicken ...
