  1. Renting does have drawbacks I remember renting with adult dogs... luckily they had their own references!! ;) We did have a place where no dogs were indoors...BUT we talked the landlord into ..beds in the laundry ..and dogs allowed into the small sunroom area off the kitchen - so we could sit there and let them feel part of the household still remembering that this will probably be a puppy ... being outside all the time will ideally mean your friend spending several hours outside with the puppy each day- just to get the puppy's training/socialising started . have they had a dog /puppy before?
  2. yeah, but they see all of life differently
  3. perhaps the OP doesn't have a yard?
  4. My worst bite was a kelpie who 'heeled' me :D ran in, grabbed a mouthful of calf muscle, and ran away as I hit the deck screaming That was very painful, and swollen and horrible. The most embarrassing? Working as a newbie at the vets , trying to hold a chi... when it latched onto my nose!! blood pouring everywhere, and the vet standing there laughing ! :p Took ages to stop the holes bleeding , too!
  5. .... Ouch.Hope they aren't too deep I've had concussion, sore back, finger joint injury, bites, knee injury...and more bruises than I've had hot dinners :D ..as well as scratches..but they are an everyday thing :p

  10. I am in favour of some pain ..it keeps them quiet and still What I tend to use is a heated wheat bag on the sore area .. some rescue remedy ,and a spot of lavender oil on the wheatbag or dog bed to help in relaxation
  11. siks3- good post. ...Although it will be tricky managing the dogs back home, I am pleased the little foxy will be spending his time back with you .... and perhaps getting a companion .
  12. Lumps can be something quite common and benign..like fatty lumps(lipomas) which a lot of old dogs get...( my last old dog had heaps all over him ...... or they can be swollen lymph nodes... or result of injury... Hoping you get good news next week
  13. Talk to your doctor... it may be a bug going round .... If not..then try an antihistamine and see if there is an improvement. remember too- it may not be the dog.. it may be flea products/shampoo......
  14. Perhaps have a look here? LINK
  15. To clear it up- you need to find WHY it is doing that. To find out WHY .. a vet should examine the eye and surrounds . So - I suggest a vet appointment is made , so you can then treat it correctly, and get rid of it for good Using various medicated drops/creams may confuse the issue ..or do damage.
