  1. well..no, but AFAIK they do eat berries and fruit in small quantities ..and they probably also eat herbivore droppings ...
  2. I didn't even see them when first I looked !
  3. Wow! You have nice 'bush!' where you are
  4. dogmate- please take some time ...breathe... and before you rush into different foods- have a good read of this thread CLICKHERE It will answer most of your queries, and give you lots of ideas ! A good raw diet has all sorts of yummies included - muscle meat is but a part of it!
  5. *nods* lack of respect has nothing to do with breed .
  6. yep. Not a good thing ... Ok - a few things off the top of my head. 1: When kids have food dog is outside/crated/in another area. 2:when dog is fed- kids are nowhere around. 3 start T O T asap. CLICK HERE because there are kids involved, I would also suggest you get a GOOD trainer in to observe/advise .Someone here will know of someone with a good reputation . ;)
  7. A 'strange scream' could well be crying with pain. A 'check' might need to involve tests to find the pain, and treatment to fix the cause of the pain. When they are at the vets ask how much it might be- that way they know in advance.
  8. ...and why I think it could well be related It could be a bug, developing..... or it could be some foreign body rattling around in his stomach... Best to have it checked out carefully .....
  9. I would be a bit concerned- esp. if he has vomitted. leave him without a meal tomorrow morning- and see if he;s keen tomorrow night. If not - then I would be off to the vet ..
  10. Don't buy much from petshops... all I would suggest is that the staff KNOW their products, and their dog/cat breeds and requirements
  11. Agreed- it is very much an individual thing... I have seen both sexes behave very effectively as deterrents slightly off topic.. if buying another dog- you may want to choose a male .. click HERE for more info. on what may occur. A new pup/dog will also possibly copy/learn from the resident dog ..so you may end up with 2 barkers..hope the neighbours are nice folk
  12. What is it? I'm sorry he is ill.
  13. *nods* MANY years ago.... back in the dark ages when Guide dogs started experimenting with crosses ,using labs/kelpies/boxers There was such a weird & wonderful variety of( and plenty of NOT so wonderful) traits
  14. oh It was interesting, I thought.........
  15. Hi... does she really stare at you ? She may be ,in her way, 'herding' you ..and trying to control you with her eyes . She may be moving, ever so slightly as you move... her instincts at work. This is not really a good plan- she may get fixated... Perhaps have a bed in the main rooms.. and have her lie there and stay? Or crate train her? Quite possibly I am way off track.... But it is the first thing which came into my head.
  16. Rather than put stuff on, and so draw attention to the area- have you tried spraying with one of teh aversive bitter sprays? Or a nice comfy basket muzzle?
  17. earplugs aren't very practical... and they don't stop the vibration, or the change in atmospheric pressure If the dogs are young/playful... get them involved in a game outside ..or inside. I always try & take pups out for a good run/play when it's stormy - so when they grow up they associate it with good times... not fussing and hiding Just keep to the normal routine... use some rescue remedy/burn some lavender oil- give them a bone ... that said- Hamlet has just come in & put himself to bed - he's not keen on storms either. No noise or anything..he just goes to bed & waits it out- we ignore him.
  18. Casster- Glad your girl seems happier I presume ,tho you wrote just the normal name of that royal canin ...,you are buying the low fat one ... as the normal one is NOT suitable for dogs with pancreatitis ... I am also of the opinion that maybe a second opinion should be sought.... just to make sure ..and get the blood tests etc done again.. oh- and with teh inner health capsules.. someone earlier suggested PROTEXIN .. which is specially formulated for animal use
  19. ermm... the agreement/lease????
