Gosh - this brings back memories of a HUGE singleton lab puppy .. a swimmer. She was outfitted with a loose figure-of eight set of 'pawcuffs' for the front legs ... LOTS of rolling around, and restricted feeding time. She did survive ... but it was hard work . I remember all our working dogs whelping in sand 'caves'.. hemispherical nests..so puppies wandering would always roll back to the middle ..and they got a lot of exercise moving over the sandy surface. A bed with good grip is vital for pups' development .... newspaper is just too slippery ... and even sheets stretched out are often stable or rough enough.

Is that the beagle-escapes-from-the shed one?

Is It Safe For A Dog To Swim In A Green Pool
persephone replied to a topic in General Dog Discussion
A dam-(without the blue green algae on top) the earth and natural stuff acting as filters is ok, IMO,but a stagnant pool ..I wouldn't.It isn't terribly healthy for you either- excellent breeding ground for mozzies, now :D -
That all sounds normal for very well fed/not really hungry dogs
-
and I bet they do it well!

Just because
-
She may be a bit aloof- that is just a behaviour carry over as you haven't been around for a while ..it's not 'punishing you ' :D. 4 weeks is nothing really! Gosh - I have had dog friends who remember me after months/years
-
Try DAP diffuser , perhaps? Poor old girl ... at least she knows he's not there anymore.. I'm glad she 'said goodbye' ...

yes- right at the back..or further down in the throat .. these particular ones 'barley grass' migrate once in a body... If you don't have it growing, you are very lucky link

Part Of Me Is Panicing. Should I Be?

lilli- The acid in a dog;s stomach is amazingly strong! It should get broken down..or if it does rattle around in there, and won't pass thru into the intestine..she will throw it up, most likely . Just keep an eye on her ..and you will now if she is uncomfortable in a day or so .... It's always a worry when this sort of thing happens . My Hamlet scares the bejabers out of me regularly - swallowing whole bones & other stuff . remembering back- my auntie's collie rough used to have a lamb shank every day of her life.... -
I would still think of a grass seed - they can lodge in the throat - it happens to our dogs .. they swallow, eat grass and lick a bit ....Most times the seed moves..but we have had them get the odd abscess when one stayed put it might be an idea to think of/write down what has happened the past day or so- in case it is anxiety based? A D A P diffuser may be handy when he's feeling ill, anyway- just to help him relax

Oh...What a gift you gave him ..the chance to go quickly, and be happy with his new toys, and the wind in his face Gorgeous boy ....
-
Pretty darn cute
-
Druce- keep us posted ... and don't expect a miraculous change he is still a puppy ..you still need to learn much , but during the process you will understand your dog and his needs so much better - and be able to make him a good member of society.
-
Glad he's settled ..tho I would have given him plain bikkies- not oil Hopefully this is it for another few months
-
a bad taste on his tongue??? I don't think so. I'd be asking another vet, I think I firmly believe it is nausea causing him to do this . he is feeling awful, feels sick ..and can't do anything about it. Did you try the ginger tablets/oil I suggested last year? did it help? don't correct him- just put him somewhere safe.he can't help it ... and it may make him anxious . It's like correcting yourself when you are sitting with your head hanging over a basin , shivering and retching..... will he eat? Maybe a small SNACK of a couple of bikkies ?Would he drink ginger ale /ginger beer? Just a few laps ? Is he swallowing a lot as well.. or just licking? Any chance he has swallowed a grass awn?

What a beautiful tribute for your boy.

;) be at peace and pain free gorgeous boy.

I often leave food in easy reach... so they can eat when they feel like it, without anxiety for their pups
