  1. That looks better if you read the info in links provided it will help .. and keep on praticing - practicing is fun,and you have a good excuse for taking pics "learning"
  2. A constant smell van also be from a chronic yeast infection....
  3. I have no idea... the technical side of photography and I are not acquainted
  4. You probably need to feed him the same brand of pup food the breeder used ...that is all teh food he knows..and feeding something different might give him tummy upsets, too. Contact her and ask which one it was. Perhaps you can try moistening it with some warm water? Is he eating anything? if he has not eaten for 3 days.... that's a very long time for a little pup. If you can not get the breeder's advice try moistening the dry food and mixing it well with w LITTLE bit of the raw meat ...
  5. Look at them! Mozzies transmit heartworm, yes. I swear by the good outdoor mozzie coils!!
  6. less veggies, more raw , no weetbix Lucky puppies, anyhow to have someone prepared to make up good food
  7. just based on what you have posted- I would say it may be a good plan ....
  8. Being a soft dog is nothing to do with being in focus... :D She is gorgeous ..and it looks as if she is beautifully groomed!! relax.. take heaps of pics... then take heaps more ... no hurry , perfection in a day or two is not important. What is important is you get to know your camera by taking many photos on many settings...see which you like, and see which ones look best a tip. focus in on an eye .. if that eye is sharp & clear... then we are happy , to put it simply There are some good tips, & interesting angles if you CLICK HERE edit - saw you were focussing on her side. hmmm.. why ? Unless you want to count the hairs in her coat, or look for burrs ... focussing on her side is not necessary ;) Put the focus point on the bits of her that hold her personality.. the bits used for communicating ... her eyes not an ear, not the nose tip .. focus in on those lovely eyes :D
  9. ..take TIME ... do it again & again . take many shots.. using slightly different settings each time.. then go with what works .. and do some reading ... you might find some helpful bits in this series CLICK HERE
  10. It is most likely submissive urination... ? My suggestions... IGNORE her as much as possible. NO looming over her... no eye contact/baby/excited talk.... no patting unless she is sitting/standing calmly/walking nicely on lead. ..then brief and under the chin ..then immediately ignore again. You shouldn't need to touch her much.. ? Doesn't she walk/jump without help? and make sure everyone in the house follows the same rules. ;)
  11. They are probably youngsters..and grasshoppers are a great food! If no one is feeding them ,and they are timid .. I'd leave 'em be. Once there is human intervention , they will probably end up dead anyway...This way ,hopefully they will wander off when the grasshoppers die off.
  12. There is possibly a reason she was so small and disinclined to feed... the head tilt may be just a symptom. Hoping you get some answers on Monday, poor little mite.
  13. The thing is to PRACTICE!! Take 100 shots..and save the best two or three ..... then do it again
  14. She really is lovely..and I also noticed that poor squinty eye Your lot look fantastic all together :D
  15. Calendula tea- YES.Also phone your vet and ask what human anti histamine you can use for her..and the correct dosage. That will tide you over until teh vet app't.
  16. Why? because they spend so much time in aircon ...and kinda lose their ability to judge what the actual temperature is .... our workers who are outside all the time almost never lie in the Sun...I figure they know it's hot..so don't bother !
  17. I am using odourless aerogard spray on all our dogs twice a day. I have mosquito coils burning as well. Get th e outdoor coils - good ones .. put them in proper holders.. Mortein make a good one- looks like a tin can with holes Keep the coils going 24/7 under pergola/verandah or where the dogs spend time. Please be careful... I have heard ( no verification that someone lost 3 working sheep dogs to mozzies .. just sucked them dry) here the mozzies are thick as a bee swarm every night ..and I worry about the animals who don't have mozzie coils (roos etc) Do you have any lavender oil? That works a little .. With the RID .. put gloves on.. slather your hands, and rub it gently over the pup's fur .. trying to avoid it getting to their skin.... just ruffle their coats ..especially belly/legs/heads I understand your problem We have an Oops litter of 4 week olds here.. and , touch wood, mozzie coils in their kennel 24/7 seems to be doing the trick. It is so cruel...even watching the poor birds in trees at night.. they tuck heads under wings.. but their legs are covered in a layer of mozzies. nasty
  18. A lot of dogs can have 'the eye' not just koolies She is a lovely HEINZ pup. (for the young ones ...HEINZ used to advertise "57 varieties" )
  19. Don't carry a stick... just a small water pistol or squirt bottle filled with water/vinegar ...or something really stinky and gross ....
  20. I am so sorry ..after all the worry and wondering... to have had to let her fly free..
  21. IMO it is in cases where the object is a ball of some sort.....the dog is 'in extremis', you have no vet to call on..and no other suitable tools or helpers to grasp the ball safely.... injury to the person trying to help can be severe.... there is nothing else really that can be done. Trying to get a choking panicking dog into a car and driving safely would be nigh on impossible The dog I helped was not able to be held still - he was thrashing and frothing and snapping .... diving in at the split second he collapsed was our only option then. Risky, hell yes! But he would have died with us watching, otherwise
  22. Ouch! ..well,at least NOW if you have to insert an arm, you have protection :o Hope it heals well and quickly
  23. His nose looks ok to me .. I think problems arise when the area immediately around the nose 'leather' is pale/white . Your dog has dark pigment there which is a good thing!
