  1. I am not providing any link or anything .. The terrible spelling and grammar would alert me to something very wrong with this listing . Ok..THAT site seems to be a US one .. note :
  2. Lol nothing to do with a dog's actual age, It's to do with the fact that human toddlers and dogs often act and think in similar ways- especially in regards to not being aware of possible dangers. Both need to be protected from themselves!
  3. Oh dear. No you didn't blame woody..neither did you accept any responsibility. Sadly. It was because of all the fun times he had with you hunting bunnies that led to his death. Those great and free running times. Many of us have/ had these types of dogs...and work hard at letting them use their instincts in safe ways. It is very possible to do.
  4. You KNEW he would chase rabbits . You KNEW there were trains . Dogs can NOT think of 'perhaps' dangers . Their owners keep them safe because of this . Woody's owner did not I am sad for you both .
  5. How old are the puppies, and what breed? What is mum being fed ? I always start ours on big meaty eef bones- they suck and chew and enjoy !! It keeps them busy for ages, and get a fair bit of good meat. After a day or two. I add a raw pet mince with dry puppy kibble.in a separate container
  6. Did you know that LOTS of training can be/is done without resorting to food rewards ? Praise /playing with a special toy are excellent rewards !! For many many years I trained guide dogs ..we never used a treat .. We train our sheepdogs ..no treats either ... Mostly my pet dogs have been trained with no treats . if your boy loves his cuddles/physical contact etc ..then- that is his perfect reward!! so reading this ... I assume there is NO aggression towards other dogs when food is present ? ONLY HUMANS ? Hopefully an aggressive response won't be triggered by a splash of something on the floor, or crumbs, or a cat poo out in the garden, left-overs on a footpath or in a park ..or the scent/presence of treats/food on other people with whom you come into contact
  7. keep yourself and family SAFE . not just today ..but tomorrow/next week /month . ( 1.5 litres? I think that is physically impossible for a baby puppy..their bellies are just not that large )
  8. Little terror ! he is only the third one of ours to do this ..previous two have both been called Fred!
  9. Not ideal behaviour ....but .... https://www.facebook.com/belinda.hansen.bushwoman/videos/10156252427874007/
  10. This forum is not a busy one ... it can sometimes be many hours before a post is spotted . Your situation seems awful . Living rural sucks sometimes definitely, and without trespassing ..film what you can ..or do a sound recording, or photograph. IF you need to help puppy ..describe what you are doing, and document everything . KEEP YOURSELF SAFE . The local police may keep a record of any conversation you have ..do you know them at all ? That always helps in rural communities . Honestly ... that's all I can say . be safe ...try & stay legal ..& I do understand some of what you are feeling . been there, done that ...
  11. I am glad this article was published at least . Hopefully someone else will take note.
  12. LOL ..being impatient!! A lot of puppies are not housetrained for about 6 months!! They need your guidance /physical barriers /every opportunity to DO THE CORRECT THING to learn these habits well The main thing is ...that if a puppy has free run of a whole house ..finding a pee pad when you're only a baby and can't yet control all your functions properly is impossible in a lot of occasions When you gotta go ..you GOTTA GO !! These pages may be of help to you & tuffy CLICK HERE CLICK HERE CLICK HERE
  13. Because his sense of smell works ...and that time is the only time he gets to use it ;) take him out in a stroller for short jaunts.Ensure he is used to his new limousine before taking him out of your house/yard !! Lots of pats & treats along the way hide pieces of salami /roast chicken /liver treats for him ... ( just lay them in spots near doorways , along paths , ...on lawn) Don't forget to gove him him BIG meaty bones on which to suck/chew a world of pleasure lies therin ..texture/taste/smell use drops of real vanilla to help him locate things use a walking stick or something to tap fairly hard on the floor ..he may feel the vibrations . Do this..train him with yummy things ...and this way, perhaps let him know you are nearby ?
  14. @grumpette Oh, alright ... you have forced my hand ! :P
  15. have a read here .... it is a worry Thread on separation CLICK HERE
  16. have you discussed this with his breeder ? Were there any signs of this when he was still at the breeders ? What is his behaviour like when away from the house/yard? Has he been to a puppy obedience class/puppy school ?How was the behaviour there ? Can you video any of this behaviour ?
  17. Dagwood ..yes he's chosen the boss . it's Clive & I who are the fatal attraction pair :P
  18. sure that's not "son-of-a- bitch" ?? Anyway . keep sessions short and fun!! 2 minutes , even!! ALWAYS , ALWAYS end on a HIGH Then a memory is in his little brain of happy ..just happy I enjoy watching these little videos ... some of it is what I do with our puppies ... as I'm useless using a clicker , , and my timing is always a bit 'slow ' ;) With baby pups ..the method shown in video takes a little patience and concentration ..but ...watch closely !! NO voice commands at first !! Cos pups don't know Our Speech Pups ARE smart ..and they very quickly learn that doing xyz gets them something Pups we have now learned in just a few minutes that food bowls would stay empty unless they had bums on the ground for more than 2 seconds ..I did NOT use my voice ..and THEY made the decision The gate on their pen will only open if bums are on the ground ..AND I have used my voice to quietly praise them without them getting up When a puppy makes a decision which gives them a reward ( or a bad experience ) this is remembered . A couple of practices ..and praise ..ALWAYS calm and quiet from an owner ..and that behaviour will stick!! You have children ? Can they 'push your buttons' to get a reaction? Do they sit , gaaaze at you with HUGE eyes /help you with chores, unasked, to encourage you to give them praise ? They've done what puppies do VIDEO to watch CLICK HERE Video to watch CLICK HERE And one other ...CLICK HERE self control
  19. Pudden, with the Cat "airing cupboard" in the background.
  20. This is a wonky photo ..but normally they see/hear me coming & stop playing.here they are running full tilt!! For about 3 weeks, this jumble of panels/gates & stuff has been a VERY popular play-gym- to be jumpedon at fullspeed ..run along ..jumped off ..etc etc. Toys get taken up onto it to be chewed..or they just lie there !! they are WEIRD LOL it has been excellent training for them though ..it rocks ..it is wire & metal ...& they need to be agile !! Funny lads ..they discovered their own balance/keepfit "toy"
  21. Not 'my' dog lying near my boot ..nope.
  22. She is looking fabulous ..and very settled Thanks for the photo update !!
