And for those who think euthanasing a dog with ongoing problems is 'cruel' ... it isn't , usually .. it is merely another needle,to the dog. I agree with what greytmate has said here...

No panic - as long as he's happy , don't worry get an appointment when you can .

I'm glad she's feeling a bit brighter She may enjoy some chicken soup ...:D
-
Now look what you made me do!! I had to download it and have a play, didn't I ? While it lacks a lot of useful tools for fine tuning photos ...it certainly has enough easily learned 'novelty' tools/effects to keep me happy:)

Excellent post, greytmate. yes, this pup was advertised for adoption, so it's not as if loving owners suddenly were faced with a paralysed pup ..... Also - a lot of money and time was spent on this puppy , which perhaps could have helped place pups without all the extra responsibilities and care needed? edit - most deaf or blind dogs I've seen lead happy normal lives , without their owners having to manually toilet them, buy equipment, worry about health issues, or cope with all the nosey public/jouirnalists ...

Sounds a long way to me ... little pups feel they have to 'go' and then don't have the ability to hang on . AND it is YOUR responsibility to TAKE her out every 1/2 hour or so to help her learn about toilet training.Little pups /doggy doors/selected spot sounds good in theory she is a BABY and needs quite a lot of time to get this part of her life with humans learned and reliable. She can not do it all by herself. have a read of these links CLICK HERE CLICK HERE there is also this method from DOL member "dogmad"

I don't think the breeder should be held responsible ..unless there were visible male genitalia it would have been hard to diagnose on normal day to day checks ... If it took you from March until the end of the year to notice/worry , then I am presuming there wasn't much that was obvious. I have seen lhermaphrodite kangaroos ..with an external penis, and pouch ..they are very obvious . I hope the surgery goes well if you have it done .. these are not actually hermaphrodite, but have very enlarged clitoris ...

think I'd prefer it was a blockage ... as fifi said HGE can be very debilitating ... Take care.. and contact the vet if she appears ANY worse , or the drinking slows down ...
-
yes! or you can slide another ..and make it a perfect circle , or rounded corners.... or just play
-
Oh Not inspirational for me-

Hmm.. if the yard looks that way , etc perhaps I wouldn't walk in & ask ... I know if it were me & a total stranger came in off the street & asked why my dog was thin I would not be terribly welcoming ....
-
you can do vignette is lightroom easy enough ...easier than PS , anyway
-
Hope Mica didn't get worse overnight, and hope all goes well at the vets . The diarrhoea can be from an infection of some sort..but it can also be a sign of constipation... only liquid can seep past the mass of faeces ... thinking of you.
-
May I suggest you get some help with this - it is not a nice balanced relationship , and could be very hard for your dog if you were to suddenly get ill or something!

Gosh.... A bit hasty , maybe .. What else did you notice? was she clean? friendly? was the yard well cared for? did it look like there were people at home? was there a visible water source for her? if she has pups, then she may well be ribby .. if she's feeding a litter, and not getting quite enough to eat, she will be putting it all into milk . she may be ill. Look at some photos- ask google then go back and have another look .If you're still very concerned ,phone RSPCA during business hours - as it does not seem an emergency from your post..

I fail to see the similarities. If Fuzzy82 was anything like you there post would have been 10 times longer, they would of made an association between training dogs and training wild hares and they would of thrown in random links to Panksepp. apologies, corvus , but -

Have you thought of ,or tried him with a nice comfy LARGE crate? maybe with door open and beds etc inside ? It would take time, but may help him realise that those wire bars can also mean comfort/food ..and being 'with' family , tho not being touched by them ....
-
Poor Mica. She perhaps should have seen a vet today... it could be constipation/a blockage/an infection/an injury, or something else.. .even if it is 'just constipation, the longer you leave it the more uncomfortable it will be , as matter dries out in the intestine and becomes difficult and painful to pass. Please don't give her anything to try & 'help' like oil or anything, in case it is not simple constipation. No food either.. but plenty of water/broth/lactose free milk if she likes it ...and keep her resting. Good luck at the vet tomorrow if needed
-
a bit OT , but I believe dogs (and owners) should be able to happily spend time apart if needed

The trouble is tho.... all the publicity, and that other legless dog "faith" may now encourage folks to keep pups like this, and with other deformities , for the cuteness and the 'wow' factor Not necessary when there are millions of 4 legged ones around.
