Ouch Poor dog. Lucky you got her to a vet quickly!! I hope she has a bucket on her head , or an elizabethan collar to stop her undoing all the good work! Now comes the fun bit ... working out ways to stop her doing it again

They won't do any damage to the food- or your dog , really. Just move the bag and leave it undisturbed and open for a couple of hours - ants will leave. Then put remainder in a plastic container Any ants left after a few hours will die very soon after you tip the remainder in your new bin (around the exterior, of which, you have sprayed surface spray in several wide bands )

Does Your Dog Get "depressed"?
persephone replied to Pretty Miss Emma's topic in General Dog Discussion
Kenzie may well be reacting to Emma's illness/absence, ...or (heaven forbid) she may be feeling a bit ill herself. poor girl . :D -
YOU need to discipline him.... if all undesexed dogs humped - we would be in trouble But ,luckily they don't , cos they are trained not to - and have lots of other things to interest them , and they learn that it gets them no attention which is worthwhile Simple answer? When you know these friends are coming- dog stays on his leash, or in his crate, or outside .The car seat gets put elsewhere ..or has stuff put on/around it, and he is always on a leash around other dogs so he doesn't get into a habit. One day he will attempt to hump the wrong dog!!! :p You only ever give a command ONCE. If he doesn't obey- then, with NO further conversation... you remove him- using a leash. Mind you ,bullies may need to be handled a bit differently, I have no experience with them I am glad he's going well at obedience- well done!

Poor Emma Is At The Emergency Vet
persephone replied to Pretty Miss Emma's topic in General Dog Discussion
:D fingers crossed for her .. -
Get a long line /horse lunge rope and walk him on that occasionally. if he is walked 2x a day on an ordinary leash ..and has a yard/company- 'free runs' are not obligatory

:D lovely story - Billy had the best of life to remember and travel over the bridge with.

I hope the psych you are contacting is experienced in childhood mental health .... perhaps ask around for another referral - one who works with kids?

Toilet Training My Poodle-x
persephone replied to charlie2011's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Your puppy has MUCH more chance of picking up 'something' from puppy school, than he does at HOME . Pups need to run on grass- they need to experience different textures/smells/ways of moving their limbs . They need sun and room to play. is your old dog having trouble with fleas/ticks? if he is not - then your pup should be fine!! -
how sad and worrying. Please go to a paediatrician and a psychologist ASAP . I hope you can get some help very soon!!

AS the others said - at this age she probably doesn't need 3 meals ..and certainly not cornflakes! She does need bones though- chicken wings/necks to start with .... leave whole ... and semi freeze, so she has to chew more. She will possibly be teething very soon- and frozen bones are a wonderful soother/helper edit to add- training treats in any quantity will fill her up - and if they are really yummy ..and maybe used after a meal, she will wait for them, rather than eat her real food ....

I got a couple for our old girl .

yes!! If you are having difficulty remaining calm, and this in turn is worsening the problem- definitely get in touch with Steve !

..Ok.. any chance you can get someone to photograph him ? when he is displaying this behaviour .. maybe coming thru the gate , and also with other dogs? Viewing body language is important . Ok.. any chance of running netting around where he gets under? if he's safe under the house- just leave him be.Let him come back out when he feels better. he is sounding absolutely terrified... he may well be a nervous dog - born & bred. IF he is also aggressive - and it is also fear based - he will not have a happy life at all. desexing won't change fear aggression, AFAIK. I have no real hints for you - just to IGNORE him if he starts to piddle etc - don't even LOOK at him. ONLY pat him /talk to him when he looks to be happy - whether it be passing pegs , or taking a treat from your hand , or just sitting in the sun There are others on here who will be able to give good advice -

Hi - a few questions for you have you contacted the breeder of the pup? Are others in the line also submissive? What cues do you think make him think he's in trouble? What training methods have you tried so far? Where do you live? My suggestion would be to contact a recommended professional who will work with you and pup at home - and give you the tools to help . If you tell us where you are - then folks on here will give you the name/s of someone trusted

Pig Hunts May Get The Bullet Over Use Of Dogs
persephone replied to RottnBullies's topic in In The News
Around here- dogs are primarily of use in national parks etc - where firearms are NOT allowed. the dogs hold a pig until the hunter can swiftly slash the neck arteries and kill the pig that way.
