If his gums are that pale- vet/ hospital and phone them... even if they are nowhere near you!Even just talking to them ,explaining why you are calling .. will help you .

Poor Joss .. did anyone see him with the GP's? he is still exactly the same dog you left this morning ... absolutely no reason to throw him outside ....he will have absolutely NO idea why you want him outside , none at all. Your partner perhaps needs to read some of these replies - maybe you can print them out , so he can learn about how dogs think,and not apply punishment as he would to one of his children

is the blood perhaps from an injury to her oesophagus/stomach? Perhaps it gets 'opened up again' when food passes through, and starts bleeding. Poor girl. Hope she will be ok. did she eat sharp bones/eggshells/foreign object that you can think of ?

I am so glad- perhpas not for the dog, but at least ,for now she will be somewhere she feels nore comfortable. I am sure, that with help from the spitz/rescue folks on DOL, your friend can find a new dog who will fit her family

Agreed! This is a severe behavioural issue, and one which really needs a professional to assist.

While there may have been lots of things this owner should have/could have done - he didn't. My thoughts are that he probably kept her on when his wife left ... perhaps he had the kids occasionally, and they played with her ... Being a truckie- no, he wouldn't be home much , and everyone has their breaking point - pound fees, getting calls saying "we've found your dog " (again)..not being a 'doggy' person ..and being away so much and perhaps to spite his wife , he jumped at the chance to have her in a nice home somewhere Which is why I am really hoping that all the paperwork gets done! if she is in the wife's name ..then she will need to know ..whatever, the dog needs to be properly signed over, or whatever happens ..

No, he won't - rather he now knows what the smell is, and will be quicker to notice it ...and if he smells it around the neighbourhood he may well also try & escape to find the source This experience is one reason a lot of male dogs are much more happy/settled after they are desexed...they don't have all that frustration happening.

be careful what you wish for . Don't leave her alone in the yard- she may well try & scale the fence to go 'home', poor thing- she must be so confused, and if your Rottie is not welcoming, she may be wanting to get out of his territory. She looks in good condition - nice & shiny, & lean Hopefully after the legalities are done ,she will find a nice home with plenty of company,and stuff to do Best of luck with her.

I think now would be a good time to write up anything you can think of .. and go see a dermatologist . With malassezia - I had a dog with it , many moons ago ..AFAIK The yeast organism is present on most dogs'/cats skin.. but multiplies with a drop in immune system function ...like lots of things.

yes She may be plunged even lower into depression , I would think. It is very sad for lots of reasons.

I have a cat one My two city moggies used to go board at a place which certainly didn't have any luxury .. but where they were happy . The lady bred both devon rex's and wolfhounds! My two usually were dropped off by her ..and she would open the carrier - whereby both cats would slide out, and smooch all over her , purring happily they were always in good condition, and never came home with any illness .

What is his absolutely favourite type of bone/toy? I would be leaving that with him, outside ... no fuss ... just "here's your bone/toy- have fun " And let him figure it out .....
