  1. yes She may be plunged even lower into depression , I would think. It is very sad for lots of reasons.
  2. I have a cat one My two city moggies used to go board at a place which certainly didn't have any luxury .. but where they were happy . The lady bred both devon rex's and wolfhounds! My two usually were dropped off by her ..and she would open the carrier - whereby both cats would slide out, and smooch all over her , purring happily they were always in good condition, and never came home with any illness .
  3. You may be interested to read this ... LINK to Scribblygum forum , esp. the comments from "joey" who has been a wildlife rehabber for many many years, and who lives with several Kangaroos /wombats etc at her house. She knows just about every aspect of macropod health & behaviour ...
  4. ..don't forget to measure your dog from top of head to floor when SITTING .... also the measurement top of head to pawtips when lying on his side
  5. What is his absolutely favourite type of bone/toy? I would be leaving that with him, outside ... no fuss ... just "here's your bone/toy- have fun " And let him figure it out .....

  7. How horrible , and heartbreaking. We have had a similar situation - ending up burying two dogs - it is so hard. thinking of you Run free Jazz & Odie
  8. IF this boy does have a chance at all of recovering some movement /independence, he should be with a zoo or private carer, and be treated and respected for what he is .

  11. Yes, casowner. I have friends who rehab injured roos - and they have done some amazing work ...BUT it is all with the aim of having the roo as an independent animal ...not a house pet or ornament or surrogate child.

    So pretty ! Thanks .
  13. This is cruelty . A kangaroo can NOT live vicariously, as can a human... A kangaroo can not read/enjoy TV/play mind games to keep entertained. Poor kangaroo is totally dependent , and , of course, seems accepting and gentle and snuggly ... kangaroos do enjoy physical contact ..BUT this poor thing has no way to escape if he does NOT want to participate . How very sad. Leela - can you describe for me what this Kangaroo can do to make itself feel happy? Do you know what makes a kangaroo happy ? Yes, if they asked me to , I would try & help. And, for the record, if I was ever to be paralysed from the neck down, and totally dependent , I would hope someone would do me the kindness of assisting with my euthanasia.
  14. She was a beautiful, gentle girl, by the looks of it ...so wonderful around the children ..speaking of which- OMG just HOW cute are your babies!!!! I just love the photo of the 'three-in-a-basket' .....
  15. I agree with this - it's not fair on your dog to put him in a position where he can be intimidated Find some nice friendly dogs belonging to family/friends,and organise walks/playdates or whatever , instead of unknown dogs with owners who may not be responsible.
  16. or perhaps get a nice enclosure for the cats - so they can safely be outside...away from windows!

  18. Ouch Poor dog. Lucky you got her to a vet quickly!! I hope she has a bucket on her head , or an elizabethan collar to stop her undoing all the good work! Now comes the fun bit ... working out ways to stop her doing it again
  19. They won't do any damage to the food- or your dog , really. Just move the bag and leave it undisturbed and open for a couple of hours - ants will leave. Then put remainder in a plastic container Any ants left after a few hours will die very soon after you tip the remainder in your new bin (around the exterior, of which, you have sprayed surface spray in several wide bands )
  20. I know what it's like - to lose one to bloat . :hug. Run free and smiling, Bonnie - now all that pain has been taken away .
